    You should have showed the install and take it off later.

    I'm running a 15t pinion with the stock center diff spur gear. As for RX8 programming - Bone stock for now. Your rally is gonna fly! I have my Slash geared for torque as well for the indoor clay track and the jumps. if you want more top end speed, you can easily go up a few teeth on the pinion with out any heat issues. My rx8 runs all day at about 105 and the pro 4 at about 130! Be carefull on battery choice, make sure you have plenty of "C" to support the Tekin system.

    Rich you would love my Slash. It has RPM all over, this brace, jconcept motor mount, HR diff mount, vxl system, upgraded radio, Tekno drive line upgrade, MIP drive shafts, You name it I upgraded it.

      Nice! This video is from such a long time ago...and it was my updated Slash video! lol. My first Slash 4x4 was in 2010, I believe.

    I love mine it's made the hcg so much More drivable. And it handles hard landings soooo much better.

      Yeah, it really stiffened up my LCG, almost too much for racing!

    Thanks! Yeah, a new camera is nice, gotta learn all the functions

  • @TheRCNetwork
    @TheRCNetwork  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I though that would be a concern as well, but with such a minimal weight of 1.8 oz, I don't think it will be an issue. I shot this with a new camera, so I'm still working out the bugs!

    Nice! I'll be using one of those when I start racing with a slash 4x4 lcg!

    Hello hello I ran my slash 4x4 right in to a wall at 50mph and broke my axis rc brace shaft. I figured out that a stock xo1 drive shaft just trimed slightly to fit can work as a replacement shaft. Now it might be a tad bit heavier then the cf shaft but for bashing its great.

    They should put Lcg on the website, even thou is the same. Didn’t realize till you said in the video. thanks for vid. Buying to strengthen up my stock towers.

    Probably the main issue are the Buggy wheels, they're just heavier to spin. 140-150 on a Pro4 is no problem though, the Pro4's can easily go into the 160-170 range, but you have to be careful if you run that warm not to go above. Not sure on your wiring, all 12g? direct connect/solder if possible? Short as possible?

    I will do an update as to what I see as the difference with/with out it.

    i may end up using this, but i'm not sure. i have a vg brace which i like because it keeps the weight down low in the chassis, but also offers stiffness. i'm switching to the sidewinder8, so i'm going to have to put the receiver right where the vg brace mounts. i like the vg because it keeps stress off the towers , but it just isn't going to work. maybe the increased weight down in the motor bay and the battery tray will make up for it

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +humble rc Although it's higher up on the chassis, it does a good job of holding the chassis straight. Hopefully it works out for you

      +The RCNetwork after dropping in that huge 2200kv motor, i realized that a little bit if aluminum and carbon fiber on top of the shock towers is not going to make a fart in the wind bit of difference on the c of g of this truck. i just ordered it.

    • @rexrunner
      @rexrunner 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      humble rc put the reciever up front instead

    • @humblerc841
      @humblerc841 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      justin credible in the end i put the receiver in a plastic bag and tie wrapped it to the back of the shock tower. that allowed me to still use the vg racing brace. i tried this apex brace, but my towers are aluminum and all the stress got transferred down to the bulkheads. my front diff case broke where the tower mounts, and the tower got bent. i threw this brace in the trash and called it a lesson.

      humble rc damn but well understood. im going vg since im doing a buggy body

  • @GTek4u

    Wassup RCN.. Hmm that brace sits high up in the shock tower I thought it would be lower on the chassis .. But I just might have to get one because receiver box is up in the front area.. Please let me know what you think about it, does it really stop the flex in the chassis.. Your lighting was a little darker, Please do some close ups.. Thanks

    Great vid! Looks more like a shock tower brace as it's not mounted directly to the chassis. How did it work out for you? If nothing else the suspension should be better reducing flex in the towers.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It helps reduce chassis flex

  • @jimmy67001

    What is the purpose of that stiffener and why doesn't Traxxas come will fit stock on it is it really need it?

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It keeps the chassis stiffer, and potentially helps when you land wrong

    you had said in one of the vids that you had wanted to keep people guessing so I thought that you should put integy bumpers so no one thinks its a slash

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, towards the end of the build, I thought of what a real sleeper is: a car/truck that looks stock on the outside, yet heavily modified under the shell

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would believe so, as the RPM shock tower would work with Traxxas body mounts. You should be good
