I have an 06 base 2.7L Boxster with 165,000 miles. Apparently this is the sweet spot for the IMS and bore score. I believe all Boxster S models have the issue, and the 05 base model had the ims issue. The 07 and 08 I think have more bore score related issues (can someone comment the facts) These cars sell cheap BECAUSE of the issue. Mine has a lot of suspension issues and wear. I kinda want to fix everything but feels like im dumping money into something with too high mileage.
Thanks for watching. Wow that is a high milage hero. I think its cool to keep it on the roads and once the major bits are updated it should feel like new.
Live and Learn. ! Study, research and look for right 1. 2006 boxster s in 2019 I purchased, so far, good ! Best part, driving around, topdown cruising, and checking out the BIKINIS! in Hawaii, year round!! Aloha!
@@willbehindthecamera ,yes !! Don't wake me up!! I did dream as kid , 1day , I will own a PORSCHE, back in grade school 60s, I am old, and it took a long time , but I can finally AFFORD it!! Its a bucket list life accomplishment, scratched off!! my 2 adult daughters said you I, look 20 years younger in my car. Dreams do come true!! make it happen!!!
:) Hi Mate Thanks for watching. Not quite that young. I had a vw up when i was that old. I'm 24 so insurance is allot better than you'd think. It is significantly cheaper than a golf r or 140i. I'll do a video of the cost of running and ownership soon.

swap a k20 in it or a 2.7T.. they are cheap and reliable
if its been a couple of days, and previous owner hide that fact from you I would just return it, and find a different car donno about UK law, in my country even if it is sight as seen you can not see into an engine and seller is 100% responsible for what he sells and it is his duty to find out what he is selling and if there are any hidden faults you have 2 years to return it or ask a previous owner to fix the hidden fault
I'm not sure how it works with private sales but any car trader or dealership has to provide a warranty with a car sale in the UK and can not sell one sold as seen.
Let’s be real here. That’s just a spunned bearing. Whoever gave it to you, beat the shit out of that car, broke it and sold it. That isn’t an ims failure. That was abuse
Damn, based in Bree, Belgium😜, a bit to far to visit your meeting with my 987.2! Wish you a lot of fun and safe driving in this fantastic car. Gr. Marc.

Bad luck mate. I hope the seller didn't know about it.

Ha, Ha .... that is a rod knock. Happened to me as I reached my friend's workshop
I wonder what year this 987 is. If a it's a 2005 (or a 2007-2008 S), then I'm not surprised.
Always get a pre purchase inspection. Sorry to hear about this.
Thanks for watching. Words to live by. A good lesson here

Is there anything you miss a lot about the Mazda? Maybe somewhere it had an edge over the Porsche? :)
And the reason I’m gonna try an ND2.
How old are you?
You look 16yr. Why are you buying Porsches? What’s your insurance?
It must be more than the cost of the 987?

mate i hope you did not dox yourself on the gmap footage.
Dont worry mate. I thight about that. Not my actual location, just two nearby villages for context. Who knows whos out there on the internet 😂
If you bought from a dealer then you should be covered. Seek legal advice 👍

How do you hide a rod knock?
@@samuelseager6785 It may not be hidden, but perhaps the buyer doesn't realise it's a problem? They could assume the noise is normal

Where are you based? Would be great to meet up with other 987 owners.

Best bet would be to get rid !
MX5 hacks
Z4 no hack
Porsche don't give a hack
Try any hacked MX5 drop-in... put-in.?
Hi Mate not quite sure what you mean?
