  • India announced its Global Biofuels Alliance at the recently concluded G-20 Summit in New Delhi. The country was the chair for this year’s G20 alliance.
Nineteen countries and 12 international organisations have agreed to participate. Why is the announcement significant? Biofuels have, after all, been talked about for a while now, with the industry not having made as much progress as it should have.
Why is the biomass industry finally sensing that its time has come? We are also joined by M. Ramesh, Associate Editor of Business Line, to discuss this.

We should not grow crops for bio fuels rather use the crop residue to make compressed bio gas and then to make electricity and through that electricity we can run cars. This way "least emission" will released and crop waste would be managed. This is the most efficient way to manage resources.

Thank you gentlemen for the very insightful discussion. Couldn't help but notice the head-bobbing competition however. Thoroughly impressed. 😃

do not think about 100% ethanol based vehicle ,it may be effect in the form of crises in food grain need ,its totally depend on environmental condition of nature(natural barrier which cannot controllable under control the crises like needy food grain supply our nation to survive the population which cannot controllable) and demand for food grain to sustain domestic need ,..........so go as per surplus availability step by step with fossil fuel
