I have had a pair 9f DT770 from the late 80's and although have been back to Beyer a couple of times for servicing of drivers they are still going strong. That's longevity for you.
"not for casual use" but good for games movies shows music basically everything. get them. i got them. they are awesome put them around some books to they dont squeeze ur head as tight if need be ofc
This is what I was looking for lmao!
Thank you so much,☘️🙏
Man, what a gem of a channel. Not ONCE did I hear “sub, hit the bell, wah wah, give me attention. You hit the mark, you spoke concisely and you delivered it all in a professional , polished package. You have a new sub.
beautifull production!
They are excellent for everything except cases when you need to block outside sounds. I've had them for over 10 years now, only changed the cups padding twice. The main point is that they give great detail and sound stage with overall neutral sound. This means that all one needs to do to satisfy any need is basically EQ. I've got those, my wife got her own, several of my friends got those. It's just an ultimate pick-and-forget choice. Gaming, music, electric guitar recording, whatever, they are just really good. Be ready that you might hear things which you never heard before, but which were always there. When buying I've compared those to 770 pro and 880 pro and ended up picking those, they gave me the best stage and detail over those 3.
First thing great video guys! Everything I wanted to hear in five minutes and you know what because u didn't ask I'm going to like and subscribe.
Just bought a pair of these bad boys based on a lot of bass playing forums and reddit but then when I've actually looked for good review to show them off to a mate all the reviews seem to be "not as good as its claimed" and "are they overrated"
Glad to see all the love in the comments though from people who actually own them
They are great for casual use. Also I don’t know if beyer still claim this but it was recommended that: 770-recording, 880-mixing, 990- mastering.
Both the closed-back 770 Pro and the open-back 990 Pro are not just for Monitoring and Content creation.....if you like to listen to HD music and you want a Neutral sounding headphone then these are amazing choices. I use both in different circumstances just to listen to music and I love the neutral sound that they produce. It's exactly what I want in a headphone to enjoy music, unlike other headphones that enhance the bass or other parts of the sound.
Which one is for music better? I love more bass. Can you give me your opinion?
@@r00xano12 neither if you like more bass. These are tuned flat for studio use. I would get a pair that features more bass if that is your thing. These are neutral, the bass is present but not enhanced
@@r00xano12 As a music producer I would suggest the DT770 Pro's (they've got quite a big bass end lift...don't know what mike it talking about). I would never mix on 770's due to this...but they are a great tracking headphone...sound much better, but also leak more than Beyer DT100 (though I prefer the Senn HD280 for critical recording situations). The 990's are a very well priced mixing headphone...I think the AKG712 is better...but it costs over twice the price. For music enjoyment..if you like a strong bass end, DT770 Pro will make you happy.
Actually they are specifically designed for monitoring and mixing. That's the point of the headphones and why they were made. The side effect from that is they are accurate, comfortable, and neutral sounding.
Great video ! I m not a music creator but really enjoy good sound (Music , games etc,,,). Was really hesitant between these and the DT 770 Pro... That said, I ve just ordered the DT990 Pro 250 Ohms version. I wanted to try open back headphones. Hope my Audioengine D1 DAC will have enough to power them.
Are they ok fir purely listening to music though? Im finding no reviews saying these or the other models 770/880 saying the same which makes them a no go for me
my favorite headphones for mixing, producing, gaming and just listening music aka for everything haha
do they have a microphone built in?
@@millergc10 No
How’s it for gaming dude? Good footsteps audio for competitive gaming?
very good vid
Do i need an amp to use them for streaming and gaming?
For casual consumption, listening to music, watching movies and playing video games, would you recommend this headphone? Or should I go with the DT770 Pro instead? I personally am not fan of leather earcups unless done right (e.g. the HyperX Cloud II Gaming headphone really have comfy ear cups, however, the rest is just plastic garbage unfortunately).
These headphones certainly do well for casual consumption! Just be mindful that because the DT 990 Pro are open-back they're best suited for quieter environments. They won't block out sounds like construction noise or traffic outside your house.
If you like the Beyerdynamic sound but want isolation, the DT 770 Pro is a good alternative. Hope this helps. Happy listening!
I bought it an I love it .Dont expect strong bass without a headphone amplifier and dont expect it on bad recordings as well . Great headphones, great transparency , I really love them .
Its great but the only problem I have is the coil just getting tangled so its just a huge cluster
Maybe it's too much to seek perfection at this price
I noticed it has a disclaimer of “Prop65” on their package and online stores. Should I return them and pick an alternative?
any audio tech will have that propoganda on it, don’t pay attention to that crap.
Wich DT series headphones is the best for gaming, watching TH-cam and casual pc things
Honestly, any of the Beyerdyanmic DT-series headphones can serve those purposes well. Which one really depends on needs and price. If you prefer open-backs for a wider soundstage, you'd be content with the DT 900 Pro X. If you want to save some cash, the DT 990 Pro can often be found at a much lower price. If you want headphones with good isolation and no sound leak then you'll want a closed-back pair like the DT 700 Pro X. Again, if you want to save some cash, the DT 770 Pro is a really good option. Hope this helps. Happy listening!
is it good for cs go tho?
I bought this same headphone from a shop in Nigeria. And my cable is than this one on the video
Could it be a fake one that I purchased?
You know damn well know the answer to that hahahaha
How is the build quality?
Build quality is good! Mostly constructed with plastic, but it feels durable and you can even replace parts if they ever break-something not offered by most companies. Hope this helps. Happy listening!
I've personally had these for over a year and work from home. So I have used these literally everyday since then. I have dropped these down out wooden stairs, accidently ripped them by the cable while still plugged in, and played them at very loud volumes. Admittedly dropping and ripping decently expensive headphones isn't a good idea, it was an accident, but they held up just as if it never happened. Definitely don't go doing this on purpose, you milage will vary depending on how hard these things gets rough housed. Overall, most comfortable pair of headphones I've used in the last 15 years, and the sound quality is pretty nice. It's not the boomy super bassy sound you'd get from Beats, its a neutral leveled sound. They are mixing headphones designed to be very accurate to the instrument/vocalist/sound. The bass is still very pleasing, it doesn't lack in that dept. but its not Beats Bass, where is very muddy and loud and overarching where it's really all you can hear. I was worried when I heard that before buying, very happy I ended up going the neutral balance route in the end though.
I bought these 4 years ago and paired with creative sound blaster x g6 these work great for music listening and gaming. A great all arounder that doesn’t break the bank
I weirdly wasn’t crazy about the creative sound blaster. I’m honestly not sure why. It felt more like a volume increaser than anything else. I’m also very picky about my sound though so maybe it’s me.
@@nicholasestrada6341 PCI-e sound cards are a scam. They are just old hardware that hasn't been improved upon in like 10-15years. It's mostly just recycled hardware from when they were actually useful. Now a days, even the cheapest name brand motherboard have better sound cards than you can get for PCI-e. If your getting the 80 or 250ohm version.. get a proper amp, not a sound card.
will the plug into the pc or do i need an amp for these
It has 3.5mm jack
@@Tom-ku3er think i’m gonna go with the 900 pro x and interface
This 990 it will be Ggood for ps5 and dualsense? If yes, 32 or 80 Ohm?
I wouldn't get these for console use unless you want to a wire mess. These headphones really need an amp. If you wanna plug it into your controller, id suggest getting the 32ohm at the very most.
@@BearBlair thx for sugestion. Od not this one ... which would you suggest for dualsense? Now I use Senheiser 380 pro but I need change for open construction...
@@wypych1209 If there's loud sounds in your environment I would suggest closed back headphones. The DT 770s are closed back and are similar but were made for monitoring instead of mixing. They will sound different, not bad, just different. Although, if noises from the construction are really loud, I would try looking into passive or active noise cancellation headphones. If you have airpod pros or galaxy buds, i'd try those just to see if you'd like active noise cancellation. If not, I would try to find some good passive noise cancellation. Active means it monitors the surrounding noise, and plays back the inverse of that signal to try and minimize the sounds you don't want to hear. Can be better then Passive at times, other times Active can be better.
Most underrated studio headphone ATH-r70x, arguably even better than the HD600-660~
ah
think i heard the actual sound
Are you sure?😨
@@scs2304 Imo its better if you prefer tonal accuracy, doesnt have as thumpy of bass but its as tonally neutral as you can get and unlike HD6 series it actually has soundstage, The only diff is that it really does need a lot of power to drive
When will you post Bose Ultra review?
TH-camrs usually have early access but this time all youtubers overslept, why? This headphones are sold for a few days already.
Am i first? 🥇
HD560s is far better. And if the HD6xx is sub $200 USD at the time you are purchasing, I would get those.
the 560 verses the DT 990s basically are so close it's a negligible difference for most listeners. Yes there is a difference, but the difference isn't in quality, its in how the headphones are tuned and how the sound stages differ from each other. The tuning on either pair can be aligned to sound basically indistinguishable. It just comes down to whether you want a more versatile sound stage (go DT990s) or a narrower sound stage (go 560s). That's the biggest difference of the two you mentioned that cannot be changed without messing with the actual design of the two pairs of headphones. Everything else can be very easily changed with simple and free software.
The only thing I hate about these is the coiling cable, holy moly that cable drives me NUTS. It keeps getting stuck on everything, even itself. wish they replaced it with something similar to Makita wired tool cables, those things are great.
yeah coild cable is acceptable only if you can plug them in perfect place. 3m straight rubber cable like on audiotechinica is more versatile and doesnt grip on things like this one
Bro thats not how our ears work in locating sounds
Bruh no need for amps in case of 250ohms? Wtf is wrong with u two
