This video has helped me out a lot, I've been looking at these headphones for a while now and actually bought them but returned them as I didn't know they needed a soundcard/amp to use them. When I found out I needed an amp/sound card I didn't have a clue what I had to get, as i was looking at the G6. Thank you, you have saved me scrolling thru the internet now :D

These are a great pair of headphones. The only complaint I have is that the highs can get a bit harsh sometimes. My current favorite pair of headphones are the Monolith M1060’s but those are pretty expensive.
I first found your Chanel when I was looking for a review on the Anne Pro 2, I absolutely loved the way that you are always happy and exited, i ended up just watching the reviews out of entertainment purposes not because i was thinking of buying something.

DT990 owner here, the cable is replaceable, it's just not detachable. Everything on this headphone can be replaced, there's nothing to worry about

Great video 🥰👍🥳 I just scored these here in Australia 🇦🇺 for $99USD on a sale brand new. These will be solely for my music listening and I’m loving the sound, especially the finer mid to mid-highs and be able to clearly hear many metallic-ee instruments such as Tamborine, triangle etc and guitar/violin etc which weren’t being experienced on normal headphones etc.
I’ve preorder these things and have used the same pair ever since. I use them for mixing and mastering and they are amazing

While those are good budget studio headphones, the range of the drivers is on the lower side than those of a basic AT m50x I would much rather have a 5/10 to 40k+ studio headset with a wider range of ability.

I had them for many years now. Plugged directly to phone, laptop, PC, no low volume issues. They are not screaming loud but loud enough.
Studio reference headphones will beat any "gaming" headsets on the market
@@Bolasnegras Except DT 990 Pro has a lot of bass. Its not your "perfectly balanced" studio headphone. Its V shaped, very dynamic headphone. DT 990 has both strong bass and treble. So its probably a very good headphone for gamers who are used to more bass. Its just DT 990 produces a lot better and more accurate bass than any gaming headset.

I think Beyerdynamic are the absolute kings of the headphone game! I have the DT770 Pros for purely listening to music, used them a couple times through my PS4 controller too whilst gaming and they are good but because they're closed, not everything is as clear. Still absolute beasts though!

@@fspeshalxo69990 edition has 32ohm and 600 ohm. Straight cable instead of coiled, and less clamping force on the head.
I paired my DT990's with the Schiit audio magni 3 and modi 3. Schiit audio makes great products plus the pricing is decent for being made in US.

I have been rocking the DT 990's 32ohm with the GSX1000 dac amp for 2 years now. Absolutely incredible gaming combo
Do you need an Amp for 32ohms?
@@florider_hd Na I don't believe so but the gsx1000 is a fairly low powered amp so it combos better than the higher ohm version headphones
Does the amp works to add a microphone to this dt 990 headsets or do I need to buy sone sort of special mic? I bough this headset but I am debating if a returned them o not. I just need to be able to connect a mic
Must say these are terrific for movies and tv shows. As good for that as they are for gaming for me being open backed with emphasised highs and bass with clean mids. Really good for Netflix etc. Not forgettimg the imaging of course!
I have closed ear headset version of this and absolutely love them. I am also looking at creative AE-9 well. What is your opinion of the wireless Audio Technica's?
Going on 3 years with my 250 ohm version and I absolutely love them. Only have gotten more comfortable over time. I power mine with a dac and a tube amp the sound is absolutely fantastic for gaming or anything I wanna do. for the price point these are so worth it.
Do you have any issues where your friends in your party or discord hear your game sound that leaks from the open back?
@@postnutregret no I run a desktop mic with active noise canceling so it doesn’t get picked up

I just got these today. I have to say there amazing. Comfortable sound quality is amazing. But I recommend using it plugged in a stereo or an mix amp .

FINEST X RUSH I’ve always used closed back headphones. I had astros been through the a50s & a40s with tr back end of last year. Recently just due to bother with connectivity problems I’ve rathered wired over wireless just due to latency aswell. I’ve got the G X pros at the moment which are great but I’ve seen some great reviews on the 990 pros as a whole and I’m hearing more and more that open headphones give you more of dynamic/open surroundings and you have much better idea of what’s around You and pin pointing enemies if playing FPS games is night and day difference apparently? I mainly plus FPS shooters or sports games mainly so just wondered whether you could shed any light on any of this since you have them? Thanks
@@LewisM1984 unfortunately I used them for playing red dead redemption and gta5 . But honestly when I bought these was mainly for the comfort which is 100 percent, u dont even feel them on your head unlike other headset which are a lil heavy . sound quality amazing and comfort . Definitely recommend buying them u wont be disappointed. I'm from Canada and they cost 240 tax in .
You can modify them to an upgraded removable cable like a mini xlr. All kinds outings you can do with them.
I orderd the dt 770 pro 80 ohms for my xbox series S im exited to try them out
Love my 990 pros with the g6, even though I barely use them. I do bust them out on my fiio btr7 though, I just wish I could mod them for balanced 4.4 lol. Maybe I’ll get a fiio k7 and pair it with that for when I use my pc.
Would be nice to see someone with an honest view as You to try their closed headphones: DT-770 Pro 80 Ohm version. They're said to be more bassy and punchy :D

I do not like the beyerdynamic headphones for gaming. they are great for music, but they take out some of the immersion with gaming

CBFM1 what type of gaming, if you’re into competitive shooters the I would still consider the 990s they will give you a serious advantage, if you play less competitive games maybe more single player stuff you should look at the Philips X2HR’s
is there any video where you have advised good headphones for gaming under different budget?
Next try the HE4xx so you can compare open back planars. I wouldn't recommend them with the soundblaster amp but you know what to do.

The best gaming headset I've ever had is my new current build: Philips SHP9500 (those headphones are fantastic, you should try them on).
Since they are only headphones but with a 3.5mm removable cable, I attached a V-Moda BoomPro microphone and BOOM! You got a freaking awesome headset to play ur games.
I now attached the Custom One Pro headset gear I had lurking around in another drawers and put it instead of the V-Moda. This is still a fantastic gaming headset when those things are combined

WHAT GOT THIS LIKE IS THE "WOW JUST PERFECT"
I have these cans, along with the Atom pre-amp. I bought these mid last year, absolutely love them. I bought the limited edition black edition 250ohm set. I still think overall it looks better than the standard grey one but I do prefer a coiled cable, unlike the straight one with the ones I own.
What about if the cable gets damaged any ideas for a fix?

Do not buy the arctis pro. I had them. build quality is crap. squeaks alot. sound is great but comfort and build quality is that of a $100 headset. maybe less. Id reccomend the a40s or Dt990

just got these almost a week ago now to replace my m50x's, I still havent got my dac / amp yet but theyre already so much better than the m50's a lot more comfortable too :)
oh I love my 50x, but I do use brainwaves pads on them
i had the ones you said to use i thought they were a bit dull and or flat sounding compared to normal iphone ones im not sure if a blaster was required for those also
I use the dt990 250ohm with the g6 and I couldn't beat it with any other headphones or headset for gaming.

GoodMen Anakin bought the arctis 5’s as I only had a 100$ budget, these are really good for the price, surely not the best but as I said, really good, I could hear every foot step as it has 7.1, really recommend it for a 100$ budget.

the thing ur talking about with it pushing right at the jaw, i have had my ear drum ruptured a few times, and man, the audio technica ones u showed, i have those the limtied edition they made many years ago, and they literally destroy my ears if worn for several hours, and i have been using earbuds, the ones from apple really are shaped nicely for my near and I can comfortably wear them for several hours without anything, and i wonder if i can find that in a headset.

I just about never game with a mic, especially on console.
A bit late but if you're still looking for a mic I recommend something like the Antlion Modmic 5. I use that mic with my AKG K712's and it's awesome. A note on the DT990 Pro: I owned the Pro version and I hated them. Horrible clamping force out of the box and the curly cable were enough for me to send them back. However, while a tiny bit more expensive have a look at the DT990 'Edition'. They have the same drivers are the Pro version but have a looser clamp and a straight cable.

I also play some R6, the 990's a great for footsteps (amp needed) but me personally I'm an Audio Technica fan
For me it's the sound and the industrial look it has. I'm not a fan of all those spacy ready to dive into deep space kinda headsets. I just ordered th 250 Ohm one. Going to test it on my Maximus Code MoBo. Hope i dont need an amp :)

@@jamesblackwell5294 I am very happy about it. What they say is true. The cushions on the ears are super soft and I wear them daily for about 6 hrs. No pression on the ears whatsoever. The build quality is very good and I am very sceptic about that point. The sound is super sharp in the mid and highs. I ad extra bass with a virtual eq. The cable is a bit short and comes with an adaptor 3.5mm to 6.3. I had to use an amp to boost up the volume tho my motherboard wasnt enough although it says it does. I used a cheap 15€ one for this. At the end. Very happy about it and would definitely recommend 👌

I got a dedicated sound card the soundblaster x ae5 and its wow blown away...
I’m looking into these and the hyperx cloud mix (price isn’t important) which should I get? Or is there any other that are good (I’d most likely use them inside and in public)
How do you plan on using an amp in public? If you're gonna use something like that in public I'd just say to get some good earbuds (they're also open back so they can sound louder from the outside, not good for public)
Can they be used with a cheap 40$ amp? And still use all of the 250 juice?
Can you get DT770 250ohm (closed back) and compare it to ATH-M50X? It would be very interesting.

Corsair makes mice and keyboards, they do not specialize in Headsets. Beyerdynamic will be much higher quality.
