That show was what sparked a total hyper fixation of this franchise. Cartoon Lydia was my role model growing up and part of the reason I went to college to study fashion and photography- eventually resulting in a Diploma of Higher Education in Graphic Design. 😊😊😊
@@dragontamer626 the cartoon was so much in my heart i actually hated this movie when i first saw it as a kid because beetlejuice was too mean... didnt like him as a villian. But when i was older i rewatched the movie to give it a second chance and i realized this movie is amazing!
@@entertainmentlife430 same. I was so disappointed… but on the first watch. I just treat the two as AU tropes now and love them both in their own way. I’m wondering if we’ll get more an antihero Beetlejuice this time round- kind of like he was in the series.
I remember when Michael Keaton was announced as Batman, a lot of people hated it saying there was no way he could play a serious character as all his past characters were comedic often citing this movie as an example. Then Keaton did a great job as Batman.
So the guy that plays the father, Charles Deetz (Jeffrey Jones) was caught with CP and soliciting a 14 year old boy. What cracks me up is the first thing you see in the trailer for the new movie is that character's funeral. It is almost like they just got out ahead of it and were like, "Don't worry, the pedo is dead. It is all good guys."
Having seen this in the theater, I loved it, but was still one of the many people who heard that he was going to be cast as Batman, and thought “What, seriously? Well, that’s an… interesting… choice.” Also, as with many others, the lesson I learned was: This is Michael Keaton. He’ll deliver the performance. Just trust him.
For more wacky Catherine O’Hara, check out any of her Christopher Guest mocumentaries. My favorite is Best in Show, but her performance in For Your Consideration is pretty hilarious.
I did not realize growing up the guy in this movie was Alec Baldwin. I can’t tell if it’s the glasses or the lack of heft (or both) that makes him look so different.
Alec Baldwin on SNL was hilarious. The infamous and controversial 'Canteen Boy' sketch from Saturday Night Live with Baldwin and Adam Sandler is hystarical and oh-so wrong in all the funniest ways.
same, the visual storytelling in those waiting room scenes is brilliant. We don't even need them to talk- the sleeping bag rattlesnake guy, the magician's assistant, the snorkler...they don't have any lines, but we get their whole background without them having to speak a word, just from the props and makeup production chose.
I'm sorry, I love this movie to pieces, love Tim Burton's work, but the scariest part about this movie is the jumpscare when the sculpture came through the kitchen window.
There is no cgi in the film. The reason it looks the way it does is because it is claymation. The sandworms, the little preacher who comes out of the fire place, the Maitland’s scary faces. I believe the new film is going to use the same method, only practical effects.
I'm writing that my name is Josh and i'm writing that i've been reading online that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will have an official 4K HD digital release on Tuesday October 8, 2024. this means that everybody at home can do first time watching videos for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice beginning on Tuesday October 8, 2024. I can confirm that there won't be deleted and extended scenes included on the 4K HD Bluray and DVD release on Tuesday November 19, 2024. that's the exact same day that Beetlejuice Beetlejuice becomes available to stream on MAX.
The movie set up the afterlife.. Otho said at diner, "you know what they say about those who commit suicide don't you? In the afterlife, they become civil servants!" Well everyone in the afterlife help center killed themselves. The one guy laid down in front of a truck, the receptionist slit her wrists, Juno their case worker slit her own throat. There's a hanged man they show briefly. There's lots of references there in the social work office. Reason Otho freaked out when BetleJuice changed his clothes, is because Otho is a designer and BetleJuice put him in a Leisure Suit!
Fantastic movie. Excited for the sequel. It's my understanding that Michael Keaton pretty much had free reign as Beetlejuice, pretty much ad-libbed the whole thing. If you haven't watched Burton's two Batman movies, I highly recommend them. Especially since you enjoyed Keaton in The Flash.
Genuinely excited for the sequel later this year. This franchise means SO MUCH to me you have no idea. Fave films EVER- just wished we’d got more than 19 minutes of Beetlejuice… being the title character and all.
Not sure why but it made me very happy that you know Geena Davis as Dotty :) Also, that impression at the beginning when Roony popped up? Spot on, mate! Loved the reaction - Tim Burton's aesthetic, especially at this time, is one of my favorites.
A League of Their Own is one of my all time favourites lol. And that prank call scene from Ferris Bueller is also up there in my list of favourite scenes lol
@@AdamfromFWCI I think I was probably too young when I saw Batman Returns cuz Danny Devito as Penguin gave me nightmares lmfaooooo. But they're definitely staples of my childhood 😂 I'll look for the pitch meetings reaction! Love your channel! Your Schitts Creek reactions were brilliant lol.
Loved your reaction as always❤. You should watch society of the snow. It's a great movie and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one. If you do watch it I recommend the original language with subtitles, the acting was amazing
The promos for the sequel make it clear its a true sequel, but at least a partial reset. They had to account for both Jeffrey Jones and Alec Baldwin now being public disgraces, so neither character could appear. Geena Davis doesn't seem to be there either, so at SOME point in the story Lydia has to have gone back to her parents.
finally! ii get to watch you reacting to movies i love (well one of them)🤣. pls react to Jumanji : welcome to the jungle Aand Jumanji : the next level if you haven't watch them bro! now, about the shop Alec went in, it was his shop.
Why did I think you were a fellow Englishman from/in somewhere like Lancashire or Yorkshire. Bleedn Australian!....what? I kinda hear it but...or is it just me that's confused.
Juno was Sylvia Sydney, and here is what she was like in her own heyday: th-cam.com/video/4Lbizm-LE40/w-d-xo.html. Robert Goulet stole hearts with his singing: th-cam.com/video/rGRC2YsdCJI/w-d-xo.html
In the cartoon BeetleJuice is a good guy, and him and Winona Ryder’s character are friends who go on adventures together.
I loved that show

I think we can all agree, the true antagonist of this movie is Jane. We all want Jane to just die.
5:44 it was his store. It said Maitland on the sign.
Adam didn't shoplift: he owns the hardware store. I was confused the first couple of times watching, too.

Not to distract from the reaction.... but that was an EXCELLENT Mr. Peterson impression

ya, I saw that and thought the same. Very smart of them, takes care of all the potential problems in one shot.
😂When Beetlejuice answers the couple as to why he qualifies to help them, its just Keaton listing his actual resume, as an ad-lib in the scene.
It's not. He may have travelled extensively, but he did not attend Juillard, or graduate from Harvard Business School.

Sylvia Sidney was an old Hollywood starlet who Tim Burton revived for this role, as well as as the grandma lady in Mars Attacks

He looks so narrow. Like his head is narrower than it is now I think
Alec Baldwin on SNL was hilarious. The infamous and controversial 'Canteen Boy' sketch from Saturday Night Live with Baldwin and Adam Sandler is hystarical and oh-so wrong in all the funniest ways.
Fun fact: Michael Keaton improvised the "Nice fucking model" line when he accidentally knocked over the tree.
This is my favorite Tim Burton movie along with Corpse Bride and I love the waiting room scenes cause of all the fun designs for the dead people.

Beetlejuice only has maybe 15 minutes of screen time
the movie wasn't even originally titled BettleJuice it was just a marketing thing to hype the movie. on the wake of Batman.
