I saw a few comments about oakleys slipping off your face looking down. I'm looking to buy some prescription glasses. Particularly the oakley rhino chaser.
So the third number, 138, is the temple size? Is that the measurement from the front of glasses from one end to the other end, or the front temple to the back of the ear?

Thanks for decoding my frames, they're 60 17 155 (big head, hahaha) and fit great. My Dr. can't seem to get my Rx correct. I started with lined bifocals. Then changed out for progressives. The bifocal wasn't good for reading and distance (50+) was slightly blurry. The intermediate range (15-50 feet) of the distance viewing was good.
The distance (15-50) of the progressives is perfect. The bottom reading part is good but down too low in the lens to be useful. The intermediate view (2-8 feet), middle section, is almost useless. I can make out the computer screen but can't read what I'm typing. She says I have a slight astigmatism. Is that what's creating my problem with getting a proper Rx? I'm spending a couple weeks wearing the progressives attempting to get "used" to them. They make my eyes hurt. It looks hopeless for me.
Hey I have a old pair of Persol eyeglass 5418 140. I want to put the lens in a new pair Persol 5418 145 The model numbers are different. Do you think the lens will still fit? First pair 2986-v 2 pair po3012-v
.....I figure it out before....but recently a bought a Porsche sunglasses online that matched my old sunglasses 54-18 measurement, unfortunately the "HEIGHT" of the lens was different changing dramatically "at least for me" on my face....the problem here is that nowhere we can know this measurements....I don't understand why!

hi! thanks for the video :) i currently have glasses and the measurements read as 50-16-135. I'm looking to get a new pair and i found one with similar numbers. the measurements for the new one i found are 48-19-138. would these be too small or too big? the glasses i currently have fit my face pretty good but i wouldn't mind going a bit smaller for the frame.
Those would likely fit you alright! Sizing doesn't have to be looked at too strictly. You're talking about roughly 1mm difference between those if you look at the numbers specifically (eyesize times 2 plus bridge width). So, without something like our SFW (th-cam.com/video/MGTuNILZVzE/w-d-xo.html) the numbers only are not always all that telling. That is pretty strong, yeah. Your frame options may be fairly limited due to that.
When it comes to glasses prescriptions, "bad" is relative.
could 52 lense fit a 53 frame?

Hello! The best way is to compare the numbers with that of the frame or style you're interested in purchasing. When you're on the page for the frame you want, scroll down and click on the 'tech specs' tab. This will provide you with the lens width (55 on your glasses), bridge width (19), and temple/arm length (150). Keep in mind that a wrap-around frame will have a higher frame width number than a traditional eyeglass frame with a flat front design. If frames have the same number, does that mean the lenses are interchangeable with other frames with the same number?
Hi David, if the frames are the exact same model as the one you plan to switch the lenses too then yes, but many frames have the same size specifications but the lens shape and curvature would still be different in design so no other lenses will work with it other than that specific frame model. For instance, a RayBan new wayfarer size 55 lens will work in other RayBan New Wayfarer size 55 frames but no other models.
@@sportrxeyewear Thanks for responding. My broken frames say SG804 135 on one bow and 55 16 135 tortoise CE on the other bow. The Frames I ordered to try are 55 16 135 RA5163 502/11 Ralph Lauren Tortoise. These will probably not work ? Different brands. My broken ones do not give a name brand that I understand. Do you know the brand of my broken ones? My wife just got new lenses , so I'm trying to find frames that will work with her lenses.
