Replanting Ponded Fields & Spraying!

- We started off the summer with way too much rain, ponding, and tile issues. We got the tile all patched up for the Summer and will hopefully replace it this fall. Also got some spraying & top-dressing done in this video. I honestly can't believe how well the corn crop has rebounded with how much rain we got earlier in the season. Pretty insane! There's some good potential out there still! Thanks for watching!

See we had the opposite problem on the east coast in Maryland, while you guys had all that rain, we weren’t getting anything and it was rate after barley and wheat got cut so the late beans didn’t have any water to grow, but around middle of July we got a week full of showers and the corn and beans look amazing, on one of are farms, the Corn ears are both long and fat, a lot of plants are growing double ears as well, so hopefully fall harvest will go amazing yield wise
Love you both magnificent job. 7:04 grant and Spencer definitely can hit that note. Lol as soon as I heard it I knew it. Felt it in my bones
Loved the Video grant ! Can’t wait to see what’s in store over the next week! Love watching you spray and Fertlize your own crop
Totally enjoy your videos. Hope Spencer is healing well. You have a great attitude but Mother Nature could smile on you just a bit.
We have the same 12 row and we pull ours with a 8110 so your tractor could handle it also highly recommend 15in beans they just get shaded over sooner giving weeds less time to get started
The 8300 looked pretty good!!
Protip you should already know. If your equipment rental place is closed on weekends or Sundays, rent the equipment the day before they close. This *should* give you the same amount of time with the equipment, plus extra time for the days they are closed.
Great video enjoy watching keep up the great work
Tile maintenance is a pain. But you can't hide from it.
Hey Grant, My family and I have a tile company out of west central Illinois. We have that same locator and I can tell you that is a great investment to make, being able to trace old clay tile runs is still something that needs to be done even when pattern tiling a whole field that way you don’t end up with a bunch of suck holes in the field. I’m not sure where you’re located at in Iowa but if you ever want a bid to pattern that field I’d love to work with you on it for a cool video!
Nice video of a great machine!
Good video
Can’t wait for harvest season!
me too
Me too
hey grant/sqaud love yor videos keep it up
Hey grant I was wondering if you could do a video solely on the future and what you plan to do on scaling up to whatever would be your dream setup as far as land and equipment. Thanks.
Looks great Grant, Thank you for the update!
Great to see you wearing rubberboots! Keep up the good work :)
Who else thinks Grant should keep the cab on the 4020?
Love your vids thank you
Hey Grant! Will you be at the farm progress show this year? Great vid as always.👍🏼
Yes, should be on Tuesday & Wednesday!
I love all your videos and I love American farming!!
It would be good for rice in those ponded areas bc that’s how u grow it I only know that bc I’m a 4th gen rice farmer in southeast Texas and I love my life and wouldn’t change it for the world
I love your videos
You know it’s a good day when grant posts
Awesome video
you guys should check out auctions for equipment go to a few dont buy look at prices see what deals you can get
I've never seen a blood bath like this. (Only been farming for 4 years. So this is first cycle).
Already looking around a lot at all the auctions!
Lovin the videos
Great video
Awsome content grant keep up the good work and the 4020 looks nice just pull that ugly cab off it
Nothing wrong with that cab
👍👍
Who else loves this channel?
I do 😁😁
Iowa is going to have a dry fall, but will hopefully yield decent
It will be record yields my friend
200 bushel will be low
U need a 9870 and a 12 row
Tour of you doing daily checks on machines? So we know your checking oil fluids etc
Quick question how many bushels do you lose by doing that
Could we get a map or something showing where all your farms are.
How.. How do the corn stalks get that far down in the ground??
hey Grant I watch your brother channel couple days ago I saw you buy a JD 4020 tractor can you tell what are use JD 4020 tractors for??
Probably for travel.... Shopping... Or camp...
We use them for small tasks and Haying. It's nice to have (2) for Haying. I will admit it's not essential at all. I really just wanted a 4020 PS, Side Console with 2 remotes. If I ever came across one for a good price I said I was going to buy it. Will keep it forever.
@@granthilbert5632 I hope you joy your JD 4020 tractor for a long time 👍👍👍
Are you planning on trying to go really big in the future
More combine s in American farming
Grant please tag numbers. I'm guessing an 8400 on the drill.?
Have you ever thought about planting a cover crop during the fall?
I had cover crops on one of the farms I bought last fall. I think it's good, but not essential.
Grant why so slow with the videos?
love your vids but can you uploed a little more i know it is hard but can you try
God will look after y’all grant he hears y’all’s prayers

People who love grant hilbert👇
you should rethink your urea application setup. the way you are doing it is incredibly unaccurate, and with fertilizer prices where they are its gonna cost ya
It's the 3rd application of N this season, and 2nd app of Sulfur. If this was my only application I would worry for sure. As long as it's not too windy, and I'm actually getting out of the tractor and checking the results- it's not too bad.

why even bother replanting? definitely won't be fully developed by fall.
It was from this past spring
This probably happened in May or June.
Replanted June 7th. Footage is just old.
Already got all the inputs out there and with basically free replant seed it's extremely worth it to go and replant to try and capture some of the cost.
I can’t stand the TH-camrs who have great content but just fall off the face of the earth for months. Decide either do it or don’t but to just go ghost protocol is some bs
I'm guessing that Grant is making so much money from Bitcoin and the farm simulator stuff that the real world farming videos are a low priority.
@@andrewgee241 I get it a person can only do so much but dang.
Nothing much to show between planting and harvest usually. At least for someone who is doing it part time
By you commenting it gave him some more money lol
Maybe he just doesn’t have time and is working hard!
