    Love your tank. I have 2 Pumpkinseeds..very agressive..and one perch. It is technically illegal for me to keep wild fish where I live but as long as I don't use them for bait or transfer to another watercourse I won't fret.

    It's interesting how similar the wildlife is across North America, I'm all the way in North Idaho and my local lakes have the exact same stockings as your tank of Minnesota fish.

    Fish get the most out of shrimp and crayfish and frogs. That’s what they mostly eat. Minnows and bluegills are substitutes. Well bass don’t usually eat bluegill at all, but minnows aren’t their normal diet. Shiners crayfish frogs great diet for them

    This is a beautiful native tank... I have a 125 and 40 plumbed together in a unified sump.. former saltwater system... i've seriously considered reviving it as a native freshwater system... I may give it a go sometime. I literally live up the street, short walk, to multiple ponds stocked with bass, perch, sunfish, crappies. I may make a slow build through the spring/summer. Collect rocks/wood/natural decor and slowly cycle the system again but for freshwater. Revive with native plants and fish. My 3yo daughter is loving the current tank and wants more. This may be the drive to get things going again :)

    • @BWCAman123
      @BWCAman123  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you and yes you should give it a go! Only problem I had with native plants is the sunfish or bluegills would slowly eat and pick at them but that was just my experience.

    I'm really liking this tank! I had bluegills before years ago and it seemed like I could never keep the water clean more than 2days. How often do you do water changes and what filtration do you use?
    I told the wife I would love to build a 800gallon aquarium for bluegills and have a fish fry once a year, but shes not a fan of fish for dinner now that we have an aquarium going.
