Here's another trip to Graves Run to catch some minnows (I believe they are a Notropis species) and some Gambusia (Mosquito fish) for my 40 gallon "Native" aquarium.

Either a 'minnow trap' made from a 2l plastic soda bottle or lay the net in the margins for 20 minutes and bait with bread.

You actually caught quite a few fish. You're right, they don't have any type of coloring, but they're still nice fish. I like 'em. They'll look better once they adjust and start swimming around. 👍😃🌿

super cool Dan....one time Jack and I went fishing when he was 3 and he caught a massive goldfish in a pond that someone apparently resealed there....it was almost a foot long and we actually put him in the 180 we had at the time and he lived for a couple years in there and Jack always told everyone the story when they came over and say him and he was quite beautiful!

I have a red signal crayfish and a blue crayfish. The blue one escaped his tank and was across hte room. My wife heard a 'rustle' at the side of her chair and thought it was something thaty dropped. When I told her the crayfish has escaped, she mentioned hte 'rustle' and I looked. Moved some stuff and there he / she was. I thought it was dead. I placed it in the tank and it came around. I thought I would put it in the tanik with the brown signal crayfish as it wont be able to escape from that tank. It jumped out of its tank and onto the floor. No more escaping for it now I just hope the two do not fight. They are about the same size as eaach other.

the neutropis won't get that big probably, just look at the ones in your native tank for comparison, will probably get to around that size. The gambusia on the other hand not certain but not big either.

Do you have any update to this tank to see how the fish are doing?

    Hey Dan,
I'm Jay living up here in Canada... I have recently went down the rabbit hole on Japanese "tanago fishing" where they catch fish the size of a nickle/quarter. Then it made me realize i always wanted a small aquarium with local "wild fish". So when we moved to my area, with over 350,000 acers of woods streams and lakes. This would be the perfect time to jump into both, so I did just that. I set up a small tank with dirt and everything from a stream i was going to get the fish from.. Even the water, let it cycle for a day went and caught the first fish like one of yours put it in... Went well for the night turned a golden colour... Woke up the next morning and the fish was dead scales were flaking off it was almost transparent. I'm just wondering what happend if you know... Or any tips would be helpful... Thanks and awesome tank by the way
