Sorry for the audio cutting out briefly a couple of times. I missed that when checking this video, my bad! :( I'll leave it up, unless you guys let me know that something important is missing - in which case I'll fix it and re-upload ✌️
Anyhow, chord sheet is here for those who want it tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/toploader/dancing-in-the-moonlight-chords-632945
Copy and paste it into notepad or similar to print it for free! 👌

I wasn’t sure if the audio went out, or you were just showing us how you you could play increasing softer…all the way to air guitar. 😀
(No big deal on the missing bits, so I’d just leave it as is.)

Ive been going to Open Mic at a place near me off and on for last 7 years. Lately my teenage kids have joined me. My daughter sang Valerie while i played for her. My son just started playing in Octand he already plays and sings awesome - hes done Green Day, Cat Stevens, Bowie, Neil Young.... crazy, proud dad ;)!

I went to play guitar at an open mic night, but didn’t realize it was a comedy open mic. Since people always laugh at my guitar playing, it all worked out just fine, thank you very much.

I’ve been to a few open mic nights over the years. The first time I was petrified but everyone was really supportive. So I kept going back until they stopped doing it there. Since then I’ve been to a few here and there when I hear about them. It’s a really great way of learning new songs. So to anybody who hasn’t been to one but it thinking about it, be brave. You’ll be glad you did.

Starting doing some busking on the weekends a couple of months ago and have gotten a pretty good response from the public. -Did my very first open-mike night last night (went really well), and it's all thanks to you & your wonderful tutorials. Thank you, Andy. -You're my favorite on TH-cam.

Love the generation gap reference to Toploader, who I never heard of. Song was originally done by King Harvest in the early 70s.

i wanted to share that i bought a capo when i got my first guitar. I was just so unfamilar with the fret board that i never used the capo. Your video was the first guitar tutorial ive watched that uses the capo and i just wanted to say how easy you made it seem. i had no idea that with the capo at the 3rd fret you could use the same finger shapes as the open strings! i will definitely be practicng this to show off to my friends

Cheers Andy. Another good lesson. I've never done an open mic night as i really can't sing at all. I used to play in the beer garden of my local on Sunday nights with few friends, passing the guitar round and taking turns, but only when it was pretty quiet and i was drunk. Good times.

Andy - this is quite big on using a pick. I’m don’t use a pick, I think because when I was starting out I was taught to finger lick and so honestly a pick just feels so uncomfortable and awkward. I’m relearning again and have an electric now - do I need to start using a pick in order to proceed?

Great tutorial, but give credit where credit is due. This is a King Harvest song (actually Kelly first wrote and recorded it with Buffalongo, but his King Harvest version was the hit that made this song). Toploader's cover is decent, but it's not love the original is obscure. It was pretty close to a top 10 hit in the 1970s.

I always suggest beginners to "not do the strum patterns count, you know, down up down up up , silliness , play along with a favorite song and strum, otherwise like I’ve seen time and time again ,you very well may end up sounding robotic. Your goal eventually is to sound musical not android-ish.
