I had to leave a comment. Since using something called KitMaker to create over 300x kits for Groove Agent in Cubase, I couldn't for the life of me work out why I couldn't trigger the sounds or record them using my Maschine Mikro. I was about to throw it out of the window after a few days of viewing TH-cam videos all with complex config instructions for HUGE templates and not for the Mikro, when I stumbled on your Video. Although the main portion of this Video is excellent and much more straight forward than the others and I have downloaded your Template, it wasn't that that fixed my issue. It was just when you clicked on the GROUP button during your config. Lightbulb moment !!! All I had to do was hold GROUP down and click to move Groove Agent in Cubase to talk to the third Group instead of Group 1. I could see the Mikro triggering Group 1 via Midi but for the life of me couldn't change it. So THANK YOU .. all I had to do was click GROUP then "15 octave" and BAM it works !!!!! You have NO IDEA how pleased I am so thank you for indirectly solving a problem I have been at for DAYS ... :) You have a Subscriber for life .. lol.

As you use Cubase, you might find it a bit more straight forward to use "Transpose" in the "MIDI Modifiers" section of the Track Inspector to select the appropriate octave.

Please help me, your video has given me hope. I have my mikro mk3 for sale because I have not been able to use it as a simple controller and program within Cubase / kontakt, but now I see that you have succeeded. I don't want to spend hours investigating only to find out that it can't be done. Just tell me if it is possible to use the mikro 3 with the studio drummer within Cubase and assign the pads as I want.

    1. Can we create 16 pages/groups? that means we can get access to 16pads * 16pages = 256 notes/pads in total. Right?
    2. You showed that when we press group button, we can select groups and there are different colors for each group/page, but can we set different color of lights to the pads that are in the same page?

So you are programming chromatically? But what i find is the annoying lack of consistency between the midi notes numbers maschine expansions are assigned to versus kontakt drum kit expansions. Eg from left pad to right bottom row using mashine kits would be kick |snare | closed hi hat | open hi hat , then switch to studio drummer from kontakt | wTF! The kick and snare and hi hat are in different pads Why oh why is there no standards!!!!! Drives me bonkers, because what it means is that you end up playing around with the controller editor all day long!!!! I am musician who just wants to perform not mess about programming pad to kit item positions. Its like buying a new overdrive pedal for your guitar and suddenly all frets are in a different order on the neck. Ridiculous!
