I get what you’re saying Chris about 35mm lacking drama, but that’s precisely why many documentary style photographers prefer it. It creates a natural image - as if the viewer is actually there - as opposed to images where you feel the presence of the photographer. Authenticity and honesty w/o subjectivity. 35mm works really well in that regard.

So did they put a gasket on it? I have almost all of the the ART primes and only sold my 135mm since I prefer the 85mm and never used much... one thing bugged me on these EF versions --- the 35mm 50mm and 20mm I own don't have weather seal gaskets but my 14mm and 85mm do and I think my 135mm did(?)... I never owned the 24mm (20 for me was a better fov)--my cams were super 35 Red Gemini for video and my old 5d4 stills... anyway if I missed that mention my fault -

Sony FE 35mm 1.8 has less breathing doesn't it? And a faster AF system. Was hoping this Sigma might unseat it in that regard, then I'd have my fave focal lengths match in filter threads and image characteristics (Batis 85mm). Oh well.
