Hello,I have exactly the same whirlpool fridge, ice maker don't work,,I look over on Amazon but couldn't find same serial numbers which are WRF555SDHB00 Amazon shows very similar pieces of hive maker, would they fit even is not same serial numbers...??
yes sometimes they repalce the serial numbers, just search your serail number and see the one that comes up that looks similar to yours. if you have the same fridge like mine just click on the link in the description of my video and buy that one.
Hello, How can I check that water flow is OK . I can replace the unit according to your excellent instructions. But how can I first test what is wrong ?. In my case No ice but all looks empty and dry ?
The same thing happened to me. To test water you can disconnect the hose from the valve behind the fridge. Then turn the valve slowly to see if water shoots out. If it does then your water flow is ok.
Hi my Kenmore sid by side refrigerator is not making ice and I wondeer if it's the water valve, the switch or do I need to replace the whole thing? Thanks
Do you have any videos on how to fix a leaking ice maker? (Same fridge as this video). Ours makes ice, but not cubes. Its a huge chunk. Found out the ice maker is constantly leaking water into the holder so any cubes on the bottom end up in a frozen chunk.
@@DeaninItYourselfwe have a kenmore coldspot I see that the tube that lets water in it's frozen I see some people use a blow dryer to get it to unfreeze or a syringe with a tube and hot water any other suggestions
How do I know If I need to replace the whole ice maker? The water catch that funnels the water into the ice maker was frozen and not allowing for the water to pass through so I’m not sure if it is a different issue. Possibly the fan?
Can anyone help me with a ice maker that won't stop dispensing or dispenses intermittently. It also doesn't stop dispensing, or doesn't stop the auger from turning, when I open the right side door. If I open the left side it does stop. Any ideas?
What do I check first to know if this is the actual problem? Where would I look to see if a hose or such is clogged? I do not know how to troubleshoot this. Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you in advance
An easy way to see if the hoses are clogged is to defrost your fridge. If you plug in your fridge after defrost and it still isnt making ice, then thats a good indicator.
this is great and all, but I come here to remember how to remove my icemaker, not replace it. TWO times now, about once a year, the tip of the ice maker water supply freezes up and blocks. I remove the ice maker, thaw the tip, replace my existing icemaker, and I'm good to go. Makes me wonder how many folks, maybe including you, replace a perfectly good ice maker because they didn't understand the root cause. If you do all this , quite possibly your dispense thaws, so you think you resolved the issue with the ice maker, but you let the tip thaw. Just a possibility. Thanks for reminding me how to remove the icemaker tho.
update; sure enough, my overhead waterline had a big frozen chunk in the tip. Maybe the first attempt should really be to take out all of your remaining ice. Then, use a hair dryer from the top outside of your refrigerator after removing the top plastic cover from your overhead water source, and thawing the possible blockage.
Jamaican are the best problem solvers
Thank you for Awesome video. Everything is accurate as described.
Thanks For step by step.
You are welcome

How long should it take for the ice maker to reach the 10° Mark to where it will start producing ice?
Mine took about 8 hours.
Mine makes ice, it just won't crush the ice; is it that the blades are loose and slipping, or maybe the ice is froze together and jamming them?

it might not be leaking. check your door seals. sometimes this may cause it. it might be easier to repalce the ice maker.

Thaw out the line and see if your ice maker works.
Do you know if this maker comes with the little thermostat? Did you troubleshoot to make sure it wasn't anything temp related?
it does
@Deanin' It Yourself I replaced mine 2 days ago using your video, and now we have ice again...thanks!!
nice video but I have no idea how to unplug that connector
what do you mean?
On to the next. My Whirlpool looks nothing like this
similar procedure
how can you determine if its getting water and yes the water dispenser is working with a new filter
Then it’s getting water. Unless the line is frozen.

How do you troubleshoot a clogged line?
UNPLUG THE FRIDGE BEFORE DISCONNECTING THE CONNECTOR. You can get shocked because things are a little wet in there.
Where is the amazon Link?

Glad I could help. and you are right about the supply line, it could be the cause. In my case it wasnt but it is a good idea to inspect that first
Thats not a fix, thats just throwing parts at the issue.
sounds like a fix to me
This is not an OEM part these are old technology you are better off ordering the correct part.
well i am sure you can order the actual part from whirlpool, the installation is the more important part
