My 196R Tilly would put up a wicked fight and smokes my Wildcat 223 on the top end. Too many people underestimate a good 196!
So true!! I have built many 212's, 236's. I recently built a 236 for my mm212 with all the goodies. New 72mm tilly case, arc billet rod, flywheel, sidecover, 308 cam, ec 32/27 cnc ported head, ec billet rockers, 24 mikuni, all the goodies. Built a 196 for my buddy's coleman b200r, supposed to be a mild build. I swear, he keep up with mine no problem and does really good on the big end. His is stock 68mm bore, stock stroke, nr 274 cam, stock 27/25 head with ss valves, 26lbs springs, some port work. 24mm mikuni also. Runs amazing! We both have the jugg with stage 3 kits in them. Im shocked with what a 196 can/will do. I think the shorter stroke really makes at rev out. Idk, it just works!

I started with a bare 196R Tilly block, EC WC big valve head, champ rockers, 26lb springs, chromoly pushrods, billet rod, dyno cams 275, pvl ignition with billet flywheel, max stroke crank, billet side cover, EC heavy duty blower housing and she absolutely rips!
The little 196 that could! Lol. I just put a 14cc gx160 head on a mild 224 and put it on my massimo mb200s. Has tons of torque!

@@Black66 hey brother, I have some questions about my hemi. I have a buddy with the same build on his non hemi. Stage 2, arc flywheel and rod, 24mm nibbi, 22lb springs, .265 hot cam. The non hemi absolutely smokes me and I’m not getting full top end rpm out of the hemi. Coil gab is .05 and valve lash is .03. Any idea what could be bottlenecking it?
That’s funny you did this video now. I’m literally building a 196 right now. Like doing it now and just took a break. lol. I did a B&S 208 head 27/25mm port and polished with a cam out of a LCTMaxx (.010 more lift than stock Coleman 196). Side cover off the LCT because the cam has .570 journals so I cut the block side or the cam to .550. Milled the head .100” to a 15cc head and the flat top piston/rod out of a GX160 and a .009” head gasket and the aluminum push rods out of the gx160. 28lb valve springs and 1.3 ratio rockers and a tillotson clone carburetor . For a mutt of a 196cc Colman. Port matched carb intake and Amazon 18$ pipe with an aluminum muffler I made at work.
With an aluminum Amazon flywheel and I cut the key .080” to get more timing out of it.
Next race secretly add some NOS. I’d love to see that anyway installed.

i remember drag racing my buddy in his 224 swapped mm80. he had a mod2 ported head and stock springs with a 26mm nibbi. i ended up smoking him on my baja carbon also with a 224, however i went with zero deck, 14cc head thats been ported up a good amount, polished internals, .010 head gasket and overall has 16:1 compression. i'm not gonna lie i probably also shit myself when i got on it after spending 2 months building it. and i have to bring a gas can everywhere cause i worry about running out and not having e85 nearby
in my best napoleon dynomite voice "He gets to ride mini bikes with black66........,LUCKY!" lol oh i actually found the manco mini quester, bodys rough, but i already have a mm212 frt end on it, will drop my ec carbs 228 on it with the juggernaut and try to make trikefest. should put a hurtin on those honda boys 140 swapped atc70's.

Man. my Rascal with my own built 212 will wheelie past both of you guys! Where i live i don't have room to top it out but i'm sure it will do 50. I need to upgrade to hydraulic brakes front and rear because at speed it will skid for 100 feet on just the rear! I'm thinking of changing the name to Jeckel&Hide because of how tame it is until you mash the throttle! The thing wheelies on a roll every time; make sure you're straight up because the front end isn't coming down right away!!

What's the dog bred/s? I had a Blue heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) mixed with an Australian Kelpie or Kelpie - Collie mix (hard to know exactly what the neighbouring farm dogs were) But it looked sounded & acted similar, just the white was solid & more like a Rottweilers tan markings in shape and positioning

Black66 could you link me to a safe CAST FLYWHEEL UPGRADE for my predator 212 non-hemi? It is kinda difficult to find one that has positive reviews on amazon, and I really want to make the bike safer. As well, I think it could probably smooth the rpm range out a little bit as well. I can't see spending more money for a flywheel than I paid for the motor NEW from HF. Appreciate the help if you can please?
