The successful media demonising and toppling of Corbyn was led by state broadcaster BBC. Only a rightwing-led Labour Party, party like Blair's New Labour, is allowed to govern. The UK is, in effect, a one-party state. Tony Benn pointed out this system was engineered to prevent the possibility of a government for the many not the few. The energies of the many good people working for a fair and just society should be directed at fighting for a republic, no matter how long or how hard. It's the only realistic option - other than a bloody revolution - to effect the necessary radical change. Anything less will always end in bitter disappointment.

Having dealt a lot with my local council, I can really relate to Jeremy Corbyn talking about elected councillors being overly influenced by the officials around them. I've seen it a lot in my local council, it's almost like they can't do anything without the say so of the council bureaucrats.
Remember when Liz Truss threw 64 billion down the drain? What would Jeremy have done with that? Probably not a failed attempt to give the rich tax cuts then bail out the bond market to save pensions!
Such people of the stalwart calibre of Jeremy Corbyn come along but fleetingly in historical terms. A man totally realistic of the flawed human traits of his detractors but willing to stand up and be counted. He is undoubtedly a national treasure. You can see everywhere now with the super wealthy expensive parts and the slummy poor parts. It's not what my area was like when I grew up where people didn't have masses but everyone was the same or similar. It was much better than having all the expensive shopping centres and designer shops with no decent local shops for the poorer areas. There's now no sense of community. This is why people who are angry when migration happens in their area because they don't understand the whole roots of the problem. They just see others moving in on their 'already underclass' poor areas
He's much more relaxed here. One of the things that put people (me) off him when he was leader of the Labour Party was how in interviews he kept clearing his throat. Watch his interviews with Andrew Marr on his Sunday show circa 2018. Nerves I guess. I was just so sorry the way he got toppled.
Hysterical considering he was protesting against Russian abuses in Chechnya decades ago while everyone else in UK politics was grovelling to oligarchs.
And yet he developed great empathy for the downtrodden and dispossessed both at home and abroad, and did what he could to help them and to make Britain a fairer and more caring country.
I grew up in the village next to Mr Corbyn which is actually in shropshire. He lived in the local Manor or what we called the "big house" . Now worth a cool two million. He didn't go to our school but was chauffeured to the posh boys school in Shrewsbury. He came from a pretty privileged wealthy background. Not that that's an issue that he should be ashamed of, after all none of us pick our origions but interesting how he plays this down. When he first went into local politics in Telford he would call himself Jezza and would say he was from Telford😅 to play down his wealthy background. He's like all politicians smoke and mirrors laced with half truths.
Then he's a bit more like Tony Benn: men born into relative privilege who both committed their lives to fighting for social justice and equality. Very commendable.
@@jake751 think you missed the point, so I'll be blunt. Like to many politicians he is guilty of selective truth telling. He gives you what he knows you'll lap up but it's not a accurate or honest.
Because he isn't antisemitic and the loss of the elections is down to petit-bourgeois scum hammering the only slim chance we had at sone form of progressive government. Starmer's Labour need to represent where they come from when they have been given their constituents votes and not have their heads turned by those who take their positions for granted. A very interesting conversation.
A good person, someone who truly deserves to be PM. #JC4PM
Lovely Jeremy 😊
❤️
What a lot of interesting information a lovely interviewer (for a change), who actually cares about the answers, can discover. Very sad that Jeremy didn’t learn more about snake (and weasel) identification but happy his constituents still have him representing and working for them. I wish him every luck with the future, and thanks for showing us what can be achieved, given half a chance. ✊🏼❤️🕊️⚖️
A lovely, beautiful, gentle and highly moral creature. God bless him!
I wonder if him and his wife pay their coffee farmers a living wage🤔
@@ashleygraham8781 don’t know and don’t care- it’s not like he owns a bloody coffee plantation- that’s his wife’s concern. Literally, it’s like anything troglodytes like you have to criticism him with you will use. Absolutely unbelievable. And yet you’ll seldom criticise other politicians for a fraction of what you charge him with.
@@ashleygraham8781 you’re the same kind of person that wouldn’t even bat an eyelid at Tory mps getting consulting jobs on the boards of huge multinationals-has Corbyn done that? No.
@@attackdog6824 How do you know Corbyn hasn't? Because 'he told you'? 👍 Still doesn't answer my question.
@@ashleygraham8781 does that answer your question?
What a moving, empowering, encouraging Interview. Thank you Jeremy for all that you continue to strive for, for all of us. Sadly, I left the Labour Party for the way they set you up. Your strength and courage serves as a great sign for what this world could be. Time for a new Party? ❤❤❤
To be successful in politics you need to be incredibly brave.
Jeremy Corbyn comes across as a very humble man who learns from other people.
Excellent unbaised reporting and Replies ; factual !
Jeremy said he learned to avoid snakes at an early age , then why did he enter into politics ?
Beats working for a living 👍
It would’ve been good to have him as prime minister
We agree!
Mr Corbyn...more than a good man...he is a movement that will not be crushed.
This!
Such a shame that we didn't get this man as our prime minister........just criminal......love eternal Jeremy
War whips up an hysterical atmosphere. It takes a lot of courage to oppose it.
Jeremy Corbyn and the late great Tony Benn.
The greatest PM’s the U.K. never had.
Fine man
He's much more relaxed here. One of the things that put people (me) off him when he was leader of the Labour Party was how
in interviews he kept clearing his throat. Watch his interviews with Andrew Marr on his Sunday show circa 2018. Nerves I guess.
I was just so sorry the way he got toppled.
Amazing human being, can't believe how vicious malicious lies about him people could even have the heart to do that to him.
If he was so amazing why didn't he win when he needed to?
@@willraven2302 media smears and lobbies corporate shills, bigoted people's smears.
I’m surprised they didn’t get him for receiving gifts from Russia! Lol. Barb
Hysterical considering he was protesting against Russian abuses in Chechnya decades ago while everyone else in UK politics was grovelling to oligarchs.
Mr Corbyn well said, by stating there is a difference between a Migrant and a refugee . J C . 3/4/24 .
Lovely man. Unlike the vast majority of our reps.
shame he couldn't avoid the snakes in the LP
The road not taken. We will rue the day
❤
A Tory MP may be a gentleman but will never be a gentle man.
He was born in a manor house with acres of land the only villagers he met probably worked for his dad.
And yet he developed great empathy for the downtrodden and dispossessed both at home and abroad, and did what he could to help them and to make Britain a fairer and more caring country.
what an utter shame he didn't become the PM. what utter dross we ended up with.
Don't be fooled.
The ultimate career politician
He was too nieve and trusting, seems his voice is deeper prolly from shouting at himself in the mirror you fool, hope he makes comeback
Because these days, anyone and I mean anyone who can swim the channel are classed by the government as Migrants, not refugees . J C 3/4/24 .
How people chose Theresa May and Boris over him, only because in the land of the blind the one eyed person becames the kings and Queens.
Maybe because he was trash at appealing to the other side. And his optics were so terrible that he lost working class support.
A big red nose, a red wig, a pair of jumbo circus shoes and a pair of yellow gloves.
ENVY is a deadly sin.
@@jake751 think you missed the point, so I'll be blunt. Like to many politicians he is guilty of selective truth telling. He gives you what he knows you'll lap up but it's not a accurate or honest.
@@jake751Very well said! Envy is indeed a deadly sin! 😂👏👍
He's no Tony Benn. Benn was a true intellectual and couragiouse enough to be honest. Corbyn is several leagues below.
Wonder why she didn’t discuss his antisemitism or losing 2 general elections
Because he isn't antisemitic and the loss of the elections is down to petit-bourgeois scum hammering the only slim chance we had at sone form of progressive government. Admitted his weakness is also to blame, but that just means a similar leader in the future should learn from this and clear out the Blairite dogs much more ruthlessly and replace with real working class fighters
The reason you are still wondering is because you refuse to engage your brain.
@@babymonalisa I'm not wondering. I've just given you the reasons for the loss
I want to vomit. He colluded with the Tories to take away my freedom of movement.
What is a woman?
Wonderful interview, thank you to you both ❤✊
This man will be remembered long after his detractors and haters are dust and forgotten.
Behave yourself. He was a total no-mark until he was put up for Labour leader.
