Another fantastic video, I'm currently playing a Necromancer vs a summoner in my current campaign with a friend. We're 6 weeks in and I love the Necromancer! I've just learned animate skull and I'm excited to use it! Especially now learning it's a new addition to the necromancer's spellbook.
Alfie Ashpole Animate Skull should be a neat spell. So you’re completely new to the game with 2nd Edition (I don’t recall if you’ve mentioned that in another comment)? If so, how do you and your friend decide what kind of battle to do as far as just a standard battle or a scenario? Just curious if new people usually play through the scenarios in order or randomize. Thanks for watching!
So there is a loophole with Strike Dead. Scrolls. A scroll can act as “insurance” when you cast a spell you know. If you do not succeed on a casting roll while using a scroll, you succeed anyway, while consuming the scroll. If you cast a spell in this manner, you’d treat the saving throw as 14.
Era al'Thor there are some nice things you can do with Write Scroll. Strike Dead is definitely a good candidate for writing onto a scroll. For a Sigilist to cast this they’d need a 22, but not with a scroll. The only downfall to using it with a scroll is a 14 is fairly easy to save against or empower up to. But using it on a figure already injured could be somewhat reliable tactic.
Bricks & Blocks Gaming indeed! Btw, I did write up an excel program that analyzes the casting bonuses for two schools to help better choose a starting school. Would that help make these videos? docs.google.com/file/d/1zDqMzX3PFD7fEUcnS63QKQa2YhCuRoZc/edit?usp=docslist_api&filetype=msexcel
Era al'Thor possibly! I eventually want to do some videos on creating Wizards of specific schools (this series focuses on just the individual spells, not really how they compliment each other or aligned schools and how to choose a good variety of spells). I’d be happy to take a look at what you’ve got though! You can email me at bricksnblocksgaming@gmail.com. (That’s a letter “n”, not “&” because I realized I can’t include the ampersand in an email address).
Era al'Thor Oops! My email address is bricksnblocksgaming@gmail.com. I was so focused on the “n” instead of “&” that I forgot to add the “gaming” part of the address. 🙃 I fixed it in my previous comment.

@@bricksblocksgaming8017 were randomly playing through the core book scenarios but we're stepping into the frostgrave folio now to tackle the golem
Thanks. I had missed the change to zombie fight stat
Thanks! There are a lot of subtle changes that can be easy to miss.
Right on brother, I really enjoy these breakdowns
Daniel Niquet Thanks! They’re fun to make and I’m glad people are finding them useful.
