Yes, thats a palm sugar on top of the avocado juice. And we usually don't eat the whole martabak alone, it's suppose to be share with friends or family. But mostly, we bought martabak to bribe our boyfriend's or girlfriend's family hehehehehe
bro buy the premium one for martabak, big thanks for that gentleman that recommended it, also for the fun fact. martabak usually eaten for a family of 4, commonly buyed by a father that return home from work at night to apologize to the family for coming home late. also for the boys that visit his girlfriend home and meet her parent! you know.. to buy their hearts out with martabak 👀

I am happy that U love our delicacy here in Indonesia. We have around 6600 different kind of food. Different region they have their own unique kind of food. Some of sweet, some of savoury, some combined. For martabak, we have 2 types of martabak. 1 is the sweet martabak, U should ask combination of peanuts, sesame seed, chocolate, cheese (that is the best combo) and 2 is the savoury martabak called MARTABAK TELUR (eggs: options are chicken egg or duck eggs) Well, enjoy guys!

That vendor put the butter too much. But you must try the original one with chocolate and cheese, that is the best selling all over the country. The mixture of chocolate and cheese is not common in the western world, which is why they don't know that the combination of the two is an amazing delicacy. The key is the type of cheese used, only use cheddar cheese, not any other type of cheese. Will blow your mind! All foreigners who try chocolate and cheese for the first time always say wow, the taste is beyond your imagination. Let's try again while you are still in Indonesia. Yeah agree! You guys should try Martabak Telor. One place/vendor usually sells two kinds of Martabak, Martabak Manis (sweet) and Martabak Telor (savory), I myself love the savory one a bit more, the sweet one is a once in a while thing, but the savory one I can eat it everyday 🤤
You can also try the Kartikasari banana molen cake, a kind of pastry filled with sweet banana,chocolate, peanuts and cheese, delicious and rich in taste

We were, too. And yeah, we were bummed we didn't film our interaction with the family on camera, but it was such a sincere moment that we didn't want to shove the camera in their faces, you know? 😅 Moments like that night with the martabak and the rain are what we live for. Those simple moments are our favorite parts about traveling. ❤️
You should try the combination of chocolate, peanuts, and cheese martabak. Maybe it's a weird combo for westerners to eat chocolate and cheese, but they are perfect. The saltiness of the cheese kinda balance the sweetness of the chocolate.
Ohhh, that actually sounds delicious, and we would love to try martabak the way you suggested. One of our favorite desserts from Mexico was marquesitas, which we ordered with Edam cheese, chocolate, and bananas. So good! 🥰😋

Well, martabak is well known national delicacy! Even it is recommended to bring martabak (savory or sweet version) if you're visiting your boy/girlfriend house and giving it to their parents (such an ultimate move for winning parents approval for date!) 😂. Glad you took the recommendation for food. Wish I could have seen the interaction with the family there. Such a classic moment in the middle of the night, foreign country, sitting on the side of an alley, dodging a rain storm, eating dessert. Love it!
We were, too. And yeah, we were bummed we didn't film our interaction with the family on camera, but it was such a sincere moment that we didn't want to shove the camera in their faces, you know? 😅
Moments like that night with the martabak and the rain are what we live for. Those simple moments are our favorite parts about traveling. ❤️
You should try the combination of chocolate, peanuts, and cheese martabak. Maybe it's a weird combo for westerners to eat chocolate and cheese, but they are perfect. The saltiness of the cheese kinda balance the sweetness of the chocolate.
Ohhh, that actually sounds delicious, and we would love to try martabak the way you suggested. One of our favorite desserts from Mexico was marquesitas, which we ordered with Edam cheese, chocolate, and bananas. So good! 🥰😋

Well, martabak is well known national delicacy! Even it is recommended to bring martabak (savory or sweet version) if you're visiting your boy/girlfriend house and giving it to their parents (such an ultimate move for winning parents approval for date!) 😂. Martabak is one of the most iconic dessert in Indonesia, mostly local people sell it from the afternoon to the midnight, and there're so many types of martabak according to their origin such as Martabak Bangka and Martabak Bandung. They serve this food with different flavors start from original, pandan, red velvet and black forest along with various topping in it. This is the most delicous street food that you can find find everywhere in Indonesia.
