    Hes 100% right. I can attest to what hes saying when I'm relaxed I landed more punches and lasted longer. I think a big part of it is being mentally relaxed to.

      @berserk You spar once in a while and eventually you will get used to it. If you are a beginner you will probably spar against people your level so their not dangerous. And if you face someone more skilled they'll probably go easier on you.

      He is right but when you’re in a real life situation. Your brain might forget everything your learned. It’s beat to practice in the ring. It happens more often than not.

    must be relax and rigid, important to be rigid, strong, both relax and rigid make the fighter strong and hard, tight the abdominal and keep it squeeze inside to protect your midsection, this start from u stance before u attack and defense, thank you coach anthony, we will train while other people doing silly things after we train they lost somewhere.

    I always feel tense on my shoulders. Whatever I do, I can only relax for a couple of seconds and then I feel tense again. My coach said that I should stop lifting weights. The weight-lifting makes me always retract my muscles.

    • @AskConner
      @AskConner ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I think it’s more mental than physical. Exercising your muscles would only give you more control of them, but if you’re breathing shallow and overthinking then your body will always tense back up

    I agree. How do you expect to, "Snap" your punches if your all wound up to begin with? Most "Brusers " suffer from this due to "Planting" themselves while punching. True Boxers dance around the ring loose and fluid.
    Have them work on footwork and cutting the corners and watch them loosen up.

    Watch the video on TH-cam of Sugar Ray Leonard sparring watch how relax he is…..same thing with Ali he was so quick because he was fluid and relax
    Yes of course they’re pro’s with experience but I’m learning that being fluid & confident is the key
    Say to self “yes I will get hit but I will make my opponent pay as well”

    Do we clench the fist tight, just before the impact? Or does the fist stay obviously closed, but without being tight? Same with biceps, tight before impact, or relaxed and focus is on speed?

    My problem is tightening when the pressure comes onto me, its not fear of being hit, nor is it hurting, I just have habit of tightening up and then start over thinking, what tips do people have for maintaining the looseness?

    • @lukewilliams010
      @lukewilliams010 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      What worked for me was saying in my head ‘stay relaxed’ that worked for me it’s natural to tense up when being someone is throwing at you but if once you see it as a game and being relaxed helps you win it

      Experience will help but honestly tensing up is a natural thing just like being fearful in a fight is a natural thing
      The thing with boxing is tricking your body and mind to be relax doing a stressful activity that’s basically all boxing is

  • @Riot076
    @Riot076 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ok,so I do always remember to be relaxed while boxing and even at my beginner level I make sure to keep my body moving. BUT I do raise my shoulders for head protection and honestly from what I can observe most people do as well. Even when you're throwing your punches,you should kinda try to "hide" behing your shoulder. That's at least my understanding of it

    • @MansaMusa-v5q
      @MansaMusa-v5q 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      True I’m the same and I believe that’s a good thing better than having your chin above your shoulders
      But before you throw I believe shoulders should be relaxed as possible
      It’s like same with hands have them open and relax then tense them and same with shoulders

  • @yoitzdrew
