Practice each of them, those six different ways of defending the cross, and put them in place during sparring/fights, so your opponent will have to face a multidimensional fighter doing different things at each moment. And do this for every aspect of the game. I tell myself this before every training session, but I know that I'm not always disciplined enough...

Muchas gracias.
Excellent information and the slips is the one thing I'm working on and need to improve at my boxing gym. Coach Anthony, I've been following your vids prior to Covid and Its been a big help for me. Keep up the good!!
Just wanna say a big thank you It's really appreciated all these vids you put up - I'd love to have had TH-cam as a kid getting into boxing and having all these in depth and detailed breakdown vids you put up
Bending the waist was an excellent tip, wasn't aware of. Especially important the part of sliding in, and being in range to throw the uppercut or turn and throw other shots. Excellent video, thanks Coach Anthony!
Thanks for this. I recently slipped the jab but got crushed with a right hand that seemed to be a microsecond behind the jab. It’s almost as if both punches were thrown simultaneously when I hit the canvas like a sack of potatoes 🥔.
Another way I like to dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge the cross is constantly control it by pawing, slapping, pin the right hand to their face or divert it away.
I love you coach Anthony greetings from france from a boxing coach too,let me know when you come to France i Will invited You to my gym, give us some tips and we all Will make a little money collection to help u out, thank you sir
@@CoachAnthonyBoxing What's the benefit vs raise heal? I'm curious. I do both, but notice that slightly raising the heal gives me more power/balance -- I have long legs though, not sure if that's the main reason.
I’ve trained with a lot of trainers and some tell me to stay a little bladed and some tell me to stay squared so I’m wondering on how should my foot position be.
Depends on a few things like your style, personal footwork, wether you are smothering an opponent or keeping distance, etc etc. look at JC Chavez (SR !) or Thomas Hearns for comparison. Chavez would close distance with a wider stance than he’d start the round off whereas Tommy would stay more sideways unless he was getting backed up and he would skip away in a more squared position until he could reset and get back to more long jabs and rights. With any beginner I have them observe the first basic stance, and moving within it, which is typically heels about shoulder width. Then, with a piece of one inch tape or duct tape at about 5-10 meters long place the toe of your left foot to the left of the tape and place the heel of your right foot to the right of the tape … and southpaws just switch that around. If you stay too “bladed” your power hand is gonna lack pop AND slipping to your jab hand side is going to be very stunted, awkward and most likely throw you off balance.
Hey coach my son has trouble with his foot work.. he crosses them, moves them too much , does not keep them planted. What are some workouts we can work on to help in this .
This guy is a real boxing trainer not like these wannabes trainers on youtube.
This really helps I've been boxing for a short while and I always get hit in the face because I drop my guard so these helps a lot in sparring

I loved the inside slip technique. I always thought slipping a punch on the inside brings you in a vulnerable position. Great tips coach. Thanks

Love your creativity coach Ant while you give us gold nuggets lol
💯👊🏽
I love the golden nugget sadly we can't use that in Norway. Having an aggressive defense or ducking to low. Get you in trouble.
Solid Gold!!
🥊💯
Great video. I wish my boxing coach in the past explained alot of what I discovered from u coach Anthony. Thank u.
I love my heavy hitters gloves but I swear I cannot find those air mits! Where can I buy them janks?????

Bravo 👏🏽👏🏽 Gracias señor badazzz
Watching this before sparring tonight..invaluable 🥊🥊🙏🏽
I come from a kickboxing and Muay Thai background and I want to improve my boxing thank you for the videos
🥊💯
In some drills we have done, even people who know that it's coming can't stop it from speeding in on them...
You can also use the lead fore arm to lift the cross… and counter
great vids coach, all of these can work..for anyone reading this I would not make a habit of rolling a cross though.
Another way I like to dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge the cross is constantly control it by pawing, slapping, pin the right hand to their face or divert it away.
Great information coach Anthony. Thank you.

the inside slide is one that could really surprise
Thanks!! I’m definitely going to apply these techniques!! Will definitely be applying them. I gave you a like and subscribed!
Great lesson! How does the footwork for step back and circle look like vs a southpaw?
Coach, should his back foot be flat when he slips or roll? I find it better to have the heal raised to generate more power if I counter.
I Teach staying on the ball of the back foot

Newest subscriber 🤪🤩🥰😍WHERE WERE YOU ALL MY LIIIFE🤩🤩🥳🥳🥳
Your video rock good insight
Great topic that is neglected. Basically one is taught to use the back of the lead hand to parry-or slip-inadequate.
Thank you Coach 🥊
🥊💯
Thank You for the videos!
💯👊🏽
What about just stepping back getting out of range? Do have to circle out
That extra nugget, the slide in is not allowed in amateur boxing right? The shovel i think some ppl call it also
Thank you Coaches! I'm going to use this vs people on UFC 4 until ESBC drops. Time to pulverize some folks today. 😆
Lol
Thanks
Might be a dumb question but wat if the defender is a southpaw even though a few of those apply also
Thanks coach
No problem
I like using the forearm block like salvatore sanchez
Yes the slight dip down left forearm, right uppercut, was his counter to the right hand.
I always get popped with a right hand, I needed this!😭
😳😲
@@CoachAnthonyBoxing I should know better by now. Just one of my weaknesses
Coach Anthony this is coach Anthony from Arizona...we should spar!!!!
Gold!
Do you have any camps or training that you offer? I would love to bring my son out there to get some work
