BEST Tutorial ever!!!!I watched two other tutorials previously and nearly tore my hair out. This has helped me get my DVR working! Thanks for uploading!view
You really just saved my weekend. The manual and instructions that come with the Swann system are horrible. I would have never figured out how to do this without your help. GREAT JOB!!! The 66 people that DISLIKED this are crazy. Perfect instructions and I have a completed different router and I still got mine working. THANKS AGAIN!!
Incredible DVR Master. I've went through dozens of video some up to three times as long as your video and none of them were quite as informative and accurate as your tutorial. I got it correct the first time out. Fantastic!!! Thank You.
I dont know who you are, but you are my hero. seriously. i spent a few hours trying to figure out then i found this video, it is the similar method, different DVR box. but it worked like a charm. I thank you. You deserve a medal.
DVRMaster - I am so glad to have come across your video. It is very well explained, with nice examples. I have spent months trying to figure this out. I will go home and give this a try and let you know how it turns out. Thanks
Great explanation of what to do! Talking at the right speed as well. I must remember to come and look at this on days when networking starts to scramble my brain (which occur very often).
Great job on explaining how to obtain and set up ip info, I spent a lot of time trying to get this info. Got up and running. FYI, D-link router uses a "virtual server" that you can enter dvr info & you don't need to add the second "2000" rule. Thank you very much!
For all of the folks having port forwarding and connecting to the internet issues for remote viewing, go to Menards com or Home Depot com and look at the First Alert Smartbridge DVR systems. These DVR's connect to the internet in 5 minutes and they can be view all all devices and are supported with an app. Seriously the easiest system on earth to set up!! BTW, this is an excellent video if you want to stay with the older technology.
Brilliant video, you explained it very well. One tip is that I couldn't connect for a while but then I realised I was trying to use HTTPS instead of HTTP. Hope that helps someone.
Thank you very much for posting this video !! All other sites and recommendations did not work one bit ! Very clear instructions, and thanks to you, our DVR system can now be accessed remotely !! YOU ARE AWESOME !!
Excellent video. I've been trying to set up my camera and been struggling for days. Went through your video step by step and it all works now!! Thanks.
I think this was well thought out and executed. Even though you explained basically in a generic way how to setup any DVR and Router for Remote viewing, It would be nice if you could do videos by request from your viewers. This would make you really popular. For me I think this video was perfect but some people get confused when the inter faces do not look the same as your video. They do not understand each manufacturers interfaces look different.
This was the best video on this topic. Because of this video and the time you took to make it I was able to get my cameras online again thank you very much .
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, again and again and again! I'm in Mexico and they have switched my modem 3 times, and the 3 times I have come back here to see your video again and I suceeded to configure my DVR again to Telmex. Telmex is the worst Co. I have ever experienced. There is no competition here, Telmex is the only provider for Mexico, who's owner is Carlos Slim! Telmex gives Modems made in China,, :( 5 Stars to you Sir!! T.U.
Wow, I always had the intention of learning how to setup the DVR's, with its explanation (although I take a little time to learn), I realized how easy it is to install and do the right steps, Thanks for your valuable information,
Gotta love this guy....as simple as pie the way he presents his tutorials...love especially the phrase "INTERNET EXPLODER" !!! Que dios te cuides..hope i spelled it right..lol
Hi. I want to thank you for this video. It was very usefull. Now a can access to my dvr from the net. pd:I think I have seen your video a thousand times.
simple, straightfoward, value unlike this indians who sing nonsense throughout .i dont have to learn again i have just completed the setup in 15mins..thank you ..
Thanks, brilliant work, your video was a major reason why I succeeded! I also had to set the DNS 1 and 2 addresses, 1 was the same as the router and 2 was all zeros.
Thanks so much for making this video. took me forever to figure all this out, but i couldn't have have done it with out this video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this video has helped so much! thanks! i have a linksys but with some searching on the router i found the right menu... for viewing on a mobile phone.. i just applied the same rules as opening the ports, but this time i made a new rule with the mobile port number and it worked great!
I have comcast and at 5:54 where you added rules, I don't see that avaliable. all I see is port forwarding and port triggering. could I get some feedback on which to use to add rules
Thank you. This video was very helpful. If you can, please post a video showing how this can be done on an android phone or guide me to a link where it can be done. I viewed many videos and followed the instructions but was not successful. Thank you once again. It worked for me the first time.
I love this video. You are a very good teacher. My issue: The monitor that was connected to the DVR died. I could view my cameras on any computer before the monitor died. The DVR is an ADT "A SDR 400 LTE Digital Video Recorder. I purchased the Balan "BNG-RJ45 or Twisted Pair connectors". I connected the Balan connectors directly to my DVR. My software system goes to default setting numbers. Are these the right connectors? They fit fine. I cannot see cameras on computer now. Please advise.
Get help! See more videos and take your time and be patient. I'm not that good at setting up port forwarding at all! Read your manual a few times and go back to the videos and then....email your manufacturer.
Great infomation! so everthing is installed. now i am having problems with the playback on my laptop when trying to review recordings i keep getting insuffiecient disks space do you have any trouble shooting help?
this video helped me alot but it didnt explain how to connect to my box afterwards i watched 5 videos and then i finally got it working with my h.264 standalone dvr i like how you say not to use dhcp and alot of people say use it but it didnt work yours works the best thanks bro just wish could have explaned that i need to put my dns ports in ipconfig/all there is 2 diff codes i used them both and bam i got vids now my android works as well so im secure :)
really great job with the guide! im using an SMC comcast modem/router and cant figure out how to create a "rule" for the port forwarding. on canyouseeme it says success for port 2000 but not port 8080? have any idea of how i can create a rule using the smcs modem/router?
I liked the way you explain the setup and all. I followed your step-by-step instructions but was not able to get my DVR working, with the cameras showing all I need through the Internet. I have a D-Link DI-524. I wonder if you could also create another video with instructions for us, starters, who are using a router like the one I have. Thanks in advance.
Great Video, Bro wish i had half of your 'tec knowhow' and really well explained, ive 'sub'd to your channel so will take a look through ya other uploads, nice one dvrmaster keep it up my friend :)
Wow this Video is kind of an old video. But very instructive. I don't know if is going to work for me, but if this worked for you it has to work for me only if I follow all your instructions to the T. Thank you
This is very helpful, but I have one problem. I can't find any setting in my DVR for a server port number. Is there just a default port 2000 for streaming video data through your router?
Hi Dvrmaster, great video. I just picked up a DVR but my issue is that I am using two routers. One is a modem & wireless router this modem is also for my TV, the other router is my Cisco Small Business router, I can't get them to do the port forwarding, I had tried port 8080, then port 9000 and also 18004, do you have any idea of this issue? Thanks.
hi, i understood everything but i want to know if i can use this from two location for example if i connected the dvr at my offices can i go home and view them at home or can i only view the cameras on my office network?
I really liked the video and you are indeed a great teacher. I have followed your instructions however and although the ports are seen to be open I cannot connect to the DVR. I have a D-Link DSL 2642B. Any help greatfully received.
Great video. It helped me a lot but... my router a Linksyswrt54g only allows me to enable one port (8080). It doesn't have the additional box to enable a second one and I've looked all over and can't seem to find how I could change that. Canyouseeme says my port 8080 is successful but not port 2000. Please, can you help me?
are you using the same network to view yourself at the end? coz i managed to get both the ports success and i can see myself with my network but if i wanted to view it from another networks i couldnt. why is that?
hi, i already set up my dvr. and already able to remote monitor my cctv. do u have a video on how i can monitor my cctv with my ipad 4g? thanks so much dvrmaster! u r d best!
Just so people know if your having difficulty access your IP camera form your web browser. if your trying to test if the external ip address is working, most routers will not allow this. It will give you a not working error. you need to test from an outside source like a phone over lte or get a friend to test for you. I had a week of frustration because I didn't know about NAT Loop back. this video should be updated to include that. because you show that you can do it but all the bell routers here in Canada will not allow you to. could have saved alot of frustration.
when doing this does your computer have to be connected straight to the router or could it be done using wireless. I am only asking about the computer I know the dvr has to be wired.
BEST Tutorial ever!!!!I watched two other tutorials previously and nearly tore my hair out. This has helped me get my DVR working! Thanks for uploading!
omg... you saved my life. I purchased a dvr and it came with no instructions on how to do this. it works like a charm now! I owe you a beer

This video saved me an $85 service charge. Can't thank you enough.
Great tutorial. Hard part is figuring out how to access settings on your own router but a simple Google search resolves that. Thanks mate
DVRMaster - I am so glad to have come across your video. It is very well explained, with nice examples.

What does that have anything to do with your gender?
+Nadeem Ansari Bc so many people acted like this was not a good video. Yet even me a girl got what you were explaining. I guess. It's been awhile.

can you help me in how to see the cameras away from home on an android or iphone after doing all this set up?
This is very helpful, but I have one problem. I can't find any setting in my DVR for a server port number. Is there just a default port 2000 for streaming video data through your router?

does the DVR also need to be connected to the computer? or does it work as long as the router is connected to the computer?
+1 for saying "Internet Exploder!"
Hey Pal, fantastic vid, i have gotten all the way to the last step, i can see both 8080, and 2000, but then the next step fails, any tips?
Great video. It helped me a lot but... my router a Linksyswrt54g only allows me to enable one port (8080). مرحباً بك في. و 5 4444 في
Very good information, great presentation.
question to see it only on my local network, do i need this port forwarding stuff?
Does the router that is attached to the dvr need to be attached to a wall/phone jack?
Thank you it helped so much and I got my dvr back on line
this helped me with my harbor freight system thank you so much
are you using the same network to view yourself at the end? coz i managed to get both the ports success and i can see myself with my network but if i wanted to view it from another networks i couldnt. why is that?
Will this also work if I'm trying to connect using 3G on my iPhone?
