Sir, you are the type of people who makes this world better place hahahah! Thank you so so so much for teaching this step by step! I just followed your steps and could achieve connection in the first try.
Great it worked. Now you might want to make sure that your Feed isn't freely just chilling on the Internet free for anyone to see what you have going on.. Port Forwarding isn't a good solution to getting access to your system from remote. To give you an Idea what I mean. I put my DVR online for Research. Within 2 days of doing so I have had non stop attacks on my DVR from others trying to guess my Password. Not many people know that you can be alerted when there is illegal access attempt made. Then there is some devices that don't even log all of them. Worse yet there are some ports that it don't even lock out if you fail to connect. People that know this can gain access. What I do know is there are some people that either have RTSP Auth turned off or the machine don't require it and for them the feeds are freely accessible to anyone that looks at your IP no matter what Port you forward for that feature.. be safe
I have a DVR system that (for now) cannot be hardwired to a router, is there a "wireless" way to send the DVR's signal to the router on the other side of the building? Great video and thankyou.
Hello, some customers use Wireless extenders with RJ45. This is acceptable for streaming, but poor response time for notifications. This can be a temporary solution.
@@markrankin3297 Hello Mark, Our customer used a wireless extender with a port on it for their scenario. I imagine if you made the router an extender, it would work as well. YMMV depending on vendor brand. Our customer used netgear for their project.
So the only way to use Reolink remotely is if you have a static IP from your ISP? I mean I guess you could use it with a dynamic but you'd need to constantly check and change the IP...
This tutorial is so detailed and easy to follow. And i've couple of Question . I did install hikvision IP cameras in three different locations and now i need to access it remotely to monitor from other location and setup and configured hikconnect in my tablet but unfortunately i encountered a little problem which is i couldn't stream all live feed at the same time what i can do is switch to each location to stream one by one to have a live feed from other location . What if i use port forwarding like this video, does it fix the issue i'm facing right now ? i need proffessional help to fix the issue what are my options ? Thanks.
Well after getting all this kit and somehow installing my cctv my missus wanted me to provide her phone with the ability to view the fruits of my labour ..... and I’m off for a month with my folks tomorrow. I never hoped in my wildest dreams to find a vid like this! Awesome job. But, what to do on a pc when you get told your browser is too new too to use see the footage. There doesn’t seem to be a way to install an older version of either Firefox or IE (or Edge). I’m not very good with these things.
I have the box, and I connect to the router, but where do you see the picture? Do I have to connect it to a laptop or screen? There is a step missing because the box is just a box, and doesn’t have a screen? Also the box is from a new house I bought and they previous owners didn’t leave instructions- can I reset it? Thanks
If you have a dynamic IP where the external IP changes periodically you will need to use a service like dyndns or no-ip and set up a host name. Your DVR/NVR should also have function called DDNS where you can login to your DDNS account that will automatically monitor and update your external IP address changes when it happens.

Well, A very knowledgeable video, Thankyou for the video, and i have a question , Can I Port forward, While the Internet connection with Dynamic IP, Thanking you.
Most routers need static local IP address of the recorder for port forwarding, so the routers can let the exact devices go through. Let us know if this helps answer your question.
Hi, awesome training, I tried it, i was able to access the DVR from a browser but couldn't stream, it was requesting that I download Flash player, which I did but my system keeps removing it .
PEOPLE Don't do this.. There are so many people with Exposed connections to the Internet that have devices that are not Secure. What do I mean. I mean that your RTSP feed is freely giving an image to your system. This might not be the case for everyone that has this DVR/NVR. But I know for a Fact that that WebUI is one of the ones that freely gives images over RTSP without having to log in and the last thing you want is people having your Security Feed without you knowing it.. I know this video is 7 years old, But I see people from less then that 2 and 3 years ago even 8mo that found this useful and to be honest, IT ISN'T. If you have to Port Forward your DVR/NVR then the Device is not secure. P2P is 1000000000 times better and sure there can be issues with people connecting over Free Wifi. but not anywhere close to just being Openly connected to the Internet. Buy a better Device if your DVR/NVR don't offer P2P support. Buy one that Does..
Good morning Jesus I am from PR I watch the video How to setup NVR with external POE I will like to know if is possible do you have same video but with Arris router seen is likely different please will you help me out I will appreciate it thank you

HI, UPnP settings are easier but sometimes it is not stable because in some cases if the router gets rebooted the Router will change the ports. Simply enable UPNP on the DVR/NVR and also on the Router and wait 1 minute to refresh and whatever ports it chooses put them on the mobile app for example IP:WebPort. To access it from a web browser it would be the same. Hope this helps.
thank you very much for the quick response, I enabled UpnP both on the NVR and the Router, I'm able to remote connect to the camera with my mobile (superlive plus) but apparently on the NVR I'll refresh but UPnP is show as : NOT READY. why??? thank u so much
This issue is cause sometimes because of the Router. Please make sure that AUTO NAT is disable on the DVR/NVR and try again. Also try rebooting the router and log into the router and see if the router assigned the ports. UPnP Port mapping should be on Auto.
Hi, I finally choose the configuration you suggested (does the DHCP on the TCP/Ip settings must enabled? I fixed my personal static ip) I disabled the UPnP on the NVR and I port-forwarded the router with the same port choosen on the NVR. Just to know do I need to disable the UPnP function on the router? who is much faster on UPnP or port forwarding? what about the NAT on the NVR? thank you very much
Disable UPnP if you are doing port forwarding, You can disable DHCP on the DVR/NVR but do it after it picked up an IP address. you can have that IP address it picked up as Static. You can Enable NAT and that would allow you to simply Scan the QR Code on the Mobile app for remote view. (Note: Sometimes NAT does not work properly because of the routers firewall)
Hi, You might have 2 Routers. the ISP router and your Personal Router. so what you need to do is do port forward from the ISP router to the Second Router that you have connected. if that does not work if you have a system from us you can contact our tech support line.
Hello, i am getting stuck, with the npapi plugin, when i input into the address bar, i cant find it and even when i download it, the black screen pops up but i still only get the grey screen advising me i need the plugin, what am i doing wrong?
hi, thanks for the video. I am however getting stuck. when I arrive at the application log in, under server list, it is asking for 'ip/ddns/sn' can you please guide me on what to input as your video was a little different. thanks
You can call any of our offices and ask for tech support if you purchased or have a product from our company. =) visit our website for more information. enssecurity.com
You might have 2 Routers. One from your ISP and the other one the one you purchased. If you have this scenario what you need to do is login to the ISP router and do port forward from the ISP Router to the Second router IP Address. In order for you to know how to get the ISP routers IP simply login to your Second router and under WAN Settings you will see that the WAN IP Is going to look similar to a LOCAL IP address. Copy the Gateway you see in those settings and that is the IP address of the ISP Router. Inside the ISP Router you do port forward to the IP address that it shows on the WAN IP SETTINGS of your Second Router. This should be able to fix the problem. Also check that the NVR/DVR has IP, SUB & Gateway settings correct.
Thanks for making my life easy and better now.
