Interesting video. for people that are watching this video you might want to know that the DVR or as Dahua calls it the XVR has some very insecure issues and you should be aware of that. One the Video didn't show setting up Q&A do it or not if you let someone know what your Pattern is or if you were to leave your Recorders logged in like I do. A bad actor can take control of your Recorder. Changing things, If they change your devices email for password recovery, change your Q&A and change your pattern. Also gain access by doing so to change the password, They could do things that make it so you no longer have access to the device. If you have a Reset button on the DVR/NVR and it don't work in a since you now have a bricked Recorder.. Very first thing I would do when buying a Dahua, or Dahua OEM Recorder is see if it has a Reset button inside. (Test it if it has one to make sure it works) if it don't have one or don't work then you need to keep Control access to yourself. Make sure it logs out and don't show anyone your pattern. Also Email Server password reset, I found it didn't work with my own Email server until I used DMSS tool menu to scan the QR code for the reset. Now if I send in the email it will work without having to use DMSS. However if I sent email from msn, gmail yahoo or some other well known email server I would get a reply that it was well received and they would send to my email however it never came. I found all this out on my own. Even called Dahua and emailed them to get Sorry can't help you... Also if you setup a admin user for someone keep in mind if your system has Zero Channel that the person you gave admin access to can use Zero Channel to watch what you are doing, What camera your looking at and what is going on menus that means even seeing you log in using your pattern without even being at your monitor (GUI of Recorder) All can be seen from Amcrest devices that is Dahua OEM reseller. I have also tested on one of my Friends Dahua NVR and DVR and both had same issues. I show this flaw in a Video I posted last year. Dahua says it isn't security issue and got the feeling it may never be fixed in future updates. Very sad...Be Safe.
Hi, thanks for your video. I have got 19analog camera and 27 IP camera in the network. Total 46 dahua camera. I am using a 32ch dahua xvr5232. I cannot see more than 32 cameras. Is there anyway i can view other 14 cameras through the same xvr and record in there? Please let me know. Much appreciated. Thanks.
Main Menu----->Camera----->Channel Type (in channel type section usually the last row is your ip row examples (9-16) or (32-40) something like that and click the only box in the ip column in that last row the little box will have a check mark or some symbol to indicate you have enabled it after doing this click apply or ok and wait for reboot and if no reboot then restart it yourself then after reboot.....) Main Menu---->Camera----->Camera List (In camera list section click search button and will bring up your ip cameras if your ip cameras match your nic ip except last digits example network ip (nic ip) 192.168.1.108 and ip camera ip address 192.168.1.122 if they come up after search click the little box by each one then click add) -Extra-Tip- (extra? in channel type you may enable your row of cameras that are analog to ip too just incase you have analog ports not used you can switch them to ip with the same process but now uncheck auto box and check ip box in that column for that specific row then click apply or ok then wait for reboot or reboot yourself then search for ip camera add add etc) you can find all this in its manual usually a pdf file on internet either way hope the best!
Thanks, very nice video. Can I use a 5MP dahua camera on this XVR. I currently getting an error saying invalid camera video standard. My XVR has never been updated, tried to update via USB,PC etc but doesn't want to update from tye version of dahua webside. Current version on xvr is V4.001.0000004.1.R 2022
Firstly, thank you so much. I managed to do all the necessary things to set it up. The only thing I'm struggling with now is that all the cameras are connected, but they are not showing pictures. So I don't know if maybe you can assist
Nice video Sir, can you remote access the XVR if you input the IP you've set into the browser but you're on a different wifi network?, I know this is an old video but I would appreciate if I get an answer thank you.
regarding the alarm input and relay output, could these be used to set off an alarm system and send out a signal to your security company? I want the system to send a notification to my security company when a human is detected is this possible with some of the systems? is there a way to remotely arm and disarm the notifications from your app, if I were to leave my house I would like to arm this function and disarm it when I return so that it doesn't send an alarm the the security company.
Love this video. It helped me a great deal thank you. I would like to ask a question though. One of the cameras I hooked up displays for a short time then disappears from the screen. The funny thing is I ca still see it using the Dahua Mobile App and If I go to the camera settings / Image and click that camera, I can see it again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Had the same issue... needed to reset the recorder from inside... unplug from main power, open it up and hold down th reset button inside. While holding put the power back in. And keep holding until a long beep is heard. Then let go and close the device. Then you can reset ip, subnet mask and gateway . .

I was wondering the same thing. Did you figure out how to do it?
