- The journey has begun folks. My lifelong dream of living at "The Camp" has been fulfilled. It's been a wonderful and rewarding experience but now we're embarking on a new venture to fulfill Lori's dream of having a home with mountain views. We're scratching the bottom of the bucket list, living off the grid in the New Hampshire woods.

Love dreaming, building, nature and doing new stuff! I’m 62 and my hubby is 63. We married at 16/17 and still going strong. He’s retired USAF and we’ve had amazing adventures...but here we go on our biggest adventure yet. We have bought land and are embarking on building a homestead in the woods. Life is good. Love your videos and your wife is my hero!

Your wife wanting to live with a view of the mountains reminded me of this.
I’m pretty sure this was your avatar on the ole forum.
I told my pap and mam I was coming to the mountains to trap and be a mountain man. Acted like they was gut-shot.
..."they said son, you should stay in town - it's here is where the people's is :-))
The fun part is cutting the trees and having stacks of fire wood all over the place. Maybe not split, but already for splitting. The last cabin I built my sister-in-law chose the place. That was when I got out of the Army for a nice summer project to unwind. I even have my one nieces hand prints on top of one of the concrete piers.

All I can say is awesome in a similar situation moved from crazy Long Island out in the country Tennessee and rebuilding my life new wood shop cutting timber splitting firewood working hard. Loving every minute. Most of my friends are retired but that word is not in my vocabulary. God bless you. You guys are an inspiration!

Great seeing both BC’s out running around. Frankie still looks healthy and well. My English Bull Terrier (Spuds McKenzie dog) is turning 14 this summer and she’s slowing down quite a lot. But, she is still healthy and happy. We love our dogs!

We are extremely happy for both of you! It’s going to be breathtaking to see a cabin facing the mountain. Sadly it’ looks a little bare right now. Looks like it has been cut recent.
It was just cut this winter and that's how the view appeared :-)

Love the mtn analogy...my wife and I know that one well. We hike quite a bit and for us its, what's around the next bend or summit...well now, what's around that next bend or summit?? On and on...I dont know how many times we get back to the truck at dark and late home to bed for the monday grind.

I'm 69 and have done everything in life that I set out to do but I have so many projects that I would have to live to be 200 years old to get them all done. So glad to see y'all out there doing what you love to do.👍🥰🌄
James Couch- At 71, I totally agree! We are a working farm family in NH, not all that far from JC and Lori. And I am the youngest!! We live the best of 1940 and the best of 2021. At the moment , 1940 is winning out... Like Lori, I enjoy living in the woods, but we built our 2016 home to be both on or off the grid. Nothing I like better than to light our 1930 kitchen wood stove during a New Hampshire power failure, while a blizzard rages, but I sure do enjoy my Kitchen Aid stand mixer and my bread machine... 200 years to complete your project bucket list sounds about right. I always say I have two project PIE CHARTs. that equal 200% :-O

As someone who hates being in a hurry, I totally feel that! I'm still a pup at 42, but I reckon I'll need at least 500 years to do all the things I want to do at the pace I want to do them. (Not to mention a fair bit of time on the side for reading, fishing, and hammock naps...)
