Hello. I am in the UK and I have just bought the same Fuso model and would like to achieve something simliar to you. I hope you can and don’t mind answering a few questions. Do you know your wheel offset measurement by any chance? I had hoped to use the same wheel builders you used (Aspect) but they can’t find any record of your job to refer to. Have you managed to improve the suspension? Many Thanks. Vic.
Hi Just watched all your videos on the Fuso... You have done a great no, a fantastic job espetially the habitat! We are in the Market for a 6c18D (d is for double cab) to convert in the same way only even smaller habitat but with a sleeper box on top o the Cab. Cant wait to get cracking... Will deffinatly get in touch with Atkinson Vos on your recomendation. Who should we ask for there?
AV are a small team, just say you're after a camper box. Our truck sways about a fair bit, I reckon it would be even worse with a sleeper above the cab. As an alternative to the Fuso, have you considered the double cab 4x4 Iveco?
@@lc10w Right thats interesting... I have considered the Iveco but favour the Fuso... cant recall if you mentioned in your video if you upgraded your front suspension? its costly, but after wtching all the videos looks like a good investmant to create a more stable ride. Your right about adding weight higher, I was thinking more of a pop up type tent box for the kids so it would be negligable (maybe). Are you regretting getting the Fusso over the Iveco given you have now been in it a while? Thanks in advance. Rgds Mark.
"Injectors needing reprogramming". That is a good reason for us to avoid a Fuso even if it was on the first places of our choices and we liked it a lot. Thanks for the information!
Most modern vehicles need the injectors recoded on the ECU. The injector manufacturer flow tests each injector and gives them a unique code that includes the flow rate. That code is entered into the ECU so that just the right amount of fuel is sent to each injector so that they are as efficient as possible. Most modern vehicle's ECUs can be coded by workshops who have invested in the correct software, but Fuso have added a security blanket over their software so that only they can make ECU changes. Basically, they have your wallet by it's balls! The problem is, there are very few modern COE 4x4 trucks in the 3.5 to 7.5 ton bracket - Fuso, Isuzu, Hino, Iveco and a couple of randoms. That's why MB bought Fuso, because they didn't have a similar truck in their range. There's plenty of US pickups, but you loose more than a metre of habitat space due to the huge bonnet (hood) forward of the cab.
