Man o man Justin your more than halfway done it won't be long and you'll be cruising that thing up and down the street lol man I wish I lived close to you I would absolutely love to be helping you with this project
Justin I live a little south of St Louis Missouri I looked it up your 21 hours and 38 minutes from me lol and you're over 1,400 MIles from where I live not exactly a weekend trip ha ha ha
I considered doing it that way but I didn’t want to take the K member off again since it lined up perfectly with the new welded front end. Once that was all straight I didn’t want to mess with it again.
Another great video Justin! Couple of questions…. Why didn’t you replace the rear main seal since you were that close to it, seems like a good time before you install the transmission. Secondly, is the Tr3650 you installed an early or late model as the early units like were installed in the 01 Bullitts had issues on the 1-2 shift especially when cold? Keep up the great work!
The rear main seal looked to have been replaced when the engine was gone through. It had a paint marker code written on the rear main cover like the timing cover and valve cover did so I assumed it was done and signed off. The rear main wasn’t leaking either so it looked fine. In my experience they are hard to get right so if it’s not leaking I’d rather leave it alone. As for the transmission it’s the one that the car was originally born with from what I know. It’s a 2002 and the previous owner said it shifted fine. I think it was also rebuilt at some point since there looks to be blue RTV on the joints. I’m not sure what may have been changed over the years internally except the 03/04 Mach 1’s got a different overdrive ratio. Luckily all the 8 TR3650’s I’ve had only one showed slight issues with 3rd gear but it still wasn’t very bad.
@@justin.c_svt I think your logic on the rear main seal is rock solid! My TR3650 is a rough 1-2 shift when cold. Once the fluid reached operating temperature, it shifts much better. I did a fluid change and used Mercon and the lower fluid quantity spelled out in the TSB. At 40k miles, I just can’t justify yanking the transmission to perform the internal upgrades per the TSB. Keep up the great work. Really have enjoyed watching this rejuvenation!
Thank you. That is true that I’ve felt the 2nd gear shift not as smooth in all my TR3650’s when it’s cold out, but only test drove 1 that actually had a bad grind. Thank for watching.
@@justin.c_svt what do you know about BC coilovers? Seem to be a good DD coilover. I want to do coilovers and wheels/tires at the same time, and goign w/ them out of the box would allow me to put some better tires on the car w/ my budget.
That’s cool Justin that u used a license plate especially from the state you are from Utah tag is cool but anyway I have to do a motor swap on my 97 deep violet gt on the same 4.6 2v and the motor came from a automatic mustang so wish me luck
You sound like a really cool guy wished you lived nearby I could use a lot of new edge knowledge. I watch your videos looking to do something with my daily to make it sound and perform better it’s all stock without having to do too much. Any ideas?
it's always a good time swinging in an engine! great teamwork.
It’s always good to have extra hands on a project like this.
Good job.
For sure
That was awesome, nice and smooth, and you got your fam spending memorable moments together!!

That would be so cool. Thanks anyway. It would be fun to have more mustang friends around.

Haha. Yeah. That’s pretty far.
Wow all of this in a 14 minute video. Looks like a lot of work! Great job man! It's close! 🤠👍
Thanks. It’s coming along nicely
I can't wait for the test drive Justin!
Stay tuned. Thanks for watching
I love this! Fantastic Can't wait for more vids.
Thanks
Progress!!
Yup 👍🏻
There’s an engine in it! That’s a big step
I always take out and put in the motor from under the car on jack stands and by myself. Its by far the safest and easiest way Ive found.

@@justin.c_svt I get it. I got the lifetime alignment for this reason.
I never heard of that. A shop offers lifetime alignments?
@@justin.c_svt Yes sir. FIrestone does.
That’s cool.
Amazing Work Sir
Thanks
this was a good one

This just proves you don't need all new parts to get the job done. What springs/shocks are on the red cobra? Stance looks great.
It’s actually on Maximum Motorsports coil overs from the previous owner.
@Justin SVT been looking at coilovers for my IRS Bullitt. MM is the benchmark. Thanks

I’m really not sure. I’ve never dealt with coilovers before

Good luck. I just got a NPI 2V from a Vic yesterday. I just put it in my garage right now and sat down to take a break.

Is it a V8 or a V6?
