    You’re always going to struggle launching a FWD car with lots of torque, wheel spin and torque steer is expected, the cars computerised launch control system can only do so much to prevent wheel hop and spin. Having driven an i30 Sedan N and now a current owner of a Sonata N Line, the Sonata N Line is an absolute bullet, launching off the line is an absolute nightmare, it shreds the tyres and struggles to put its power down, the MK8 Golf GTI won’t struggle as much as it has less power and torque to deal with but what you should be looking at is roll on acceleration because that is where these cars absolutely shine, that is real world performance, these cars from a roll are absolute bullets but all people seem to care about are numbers regarding 0-100 km/h and 1/4 mile times and I get that because it sells, it’s all marketing, but real world performance should be based on in-gear acceleration, FWD cars would always struggle off the line, especially against AWD and RWD depending on the car of course, but race an AWD from a roll and you’d most likely win due to less drivetrain losses. The 60-110 is actually incredible that isn’t far off Kia Stinger GT terriority, a car with almost an extra 100kW and 140Nm.

      @Russell
      If you say so Russell , I have a 1980's fwd 950kg 240whp on 10 psi low boost setting tune and get no wheel spin and I don't have a lsd.
      A correctly set up fwd car can be just as quick as a rwd .
      My car can also stop better than 99% of the cars on the road with a 100kmph to 0 of 24.7 metres.
      Like I said it comes down to set up and driver ability not fancy mechanical and electronic gadgets and I have gapped all the vehicles you have mentioned including the one in this video.

      Congrats on the N-Line, its a great all-rounder. Ive got its Kia twin, a 2021 K5 GT, and I also had serious wheelspin off the line, although was kinda fun at first.
      Those Pirelli tires were dead at 30k miles, but Ive got stickier Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires on now, and have seen much less wheelspin, even with them being all seasons. Can only imagine how it'd go with summer tires.

      Yup couldn’t agree more. My Toyota Aurion from a roll is quite a mover. Even a stock WRX STI or Audi RS3 Hatchback couldn’t gap me from a roll. From a dig it’s a different though.

      @@davidgriggs3967 any tuned car will most likely beat a stock car, it doesn’t matter what year it’s from, however a modern tuned car will have a high chance of beating an 80s tuned car as technology has advanced very far from that era.
      And most 80s car didn’t heavily rely on safety features as modern cars do, which is a main reason why so many modern cars weigh more than the cars of yesteryear, if you want to compare a MK1 GTI to a modern MK7 or MK8 GTI.
      A MK1 GTI weighs roughly 800-900kg, whereas a MK7 weighs 1300kg and the new MK8 weighs 1500kg, almost double the weight over the years due to safety regulations.

    Today i measured my mk8 GTI (DSG) with dragy and the fastest run was 7.5 Seconds. I dont know why but it became so slow 🥲 between the Shift from 2nd to 3rd is a big gap of almost 0,5 Seconds before it shifts. Anyone knows why?

    • @nicholasmatthews5989
      @nicholasmatthews5989 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello Tridan, Did you find out the reason why you are only achieving 7.5 seconds?
      In this test they obtained 6.06 sec, and
      I saw another Australian test where they obtained 6.00 seconds.
      To obtain the 6.00 sec, the reviewer went into the touch screen, "sport" mode, "vehicle", "exterior", "brakes", "ESC system, Activated", "ESC Sport", foot hard on the brake, foot hard on the throttle, then on the instrument panel should show "Launch Control Program active" (showing about 4,000rpm), then let go of the brake, there will be a little bit of wheel slip, and let the car propel itself up to 100km/hr. This reviewer also then tried "ESC Off", there was lots of wheel spinning, obtaining 6.68 sec.
      Also, have a check of the tyre pressures.
      Hopefully the above is helpful.
      Cheers.
