Dear God, it's so amazing to see the band back! I got to say it, this song and this band mean a lot to me. My father would play the songs over and over when I was born (1977) and I grew up loving this music. When we moved to another city, the records dissapeared. My dad tried to get others, but never found them. He passed away in 1986, and to this day, I listen to Starbuck in his honor. Thank you so much for the memories... lots of love from Chile!
A beautiful song performed by beautiful people. Very fond memories of this in 1976, when I was 17. Big hit here in the UK. Happy song. I'm into all kinds of music, I just like quality.
It always amazes me how it all comes together for a band for four glorious minutes. Words, music, time, vibe. Everything is just so perfectly right. This song is Exhibit A. They caught lighting in a jar just once, and 40 years on, the magic is still there.
Wonderful song from my teenage and courting years of 1976 in Manchester, England. A long hot summer, with all the music just adding to the magic of my formative years. Love the main singer, and a big kiss to the chap playing the xylopohone. A real lovely human being. R I P and God bless.
This song is my favorite song of the 70’s hands down!!’ I can’t stop listening to it! As a musician myself, I can appreciate the chord progressions, melody, keys, marimba, guitar, drum and bass groove and vocals! This is a MASTERPIECE! Thank you Bruce!
This is coming from a diehard Metal Head, that to this day this song takes me back to being 3 years old and feeling alive to this song that will always be apart of this Head Bangers life...\m/ \m/
The guy is doing some serious shredding on the marimba! For reals, i was 9 when i first heard this song and i feel the same way. Regardless of genre, this is a very well written song with a great hook.
This song is in the soundtrack of my life. Warm South Carolina nights, out on dates with young Airmen, staring up at the moon and listening to this great song and other great songs of that time. I cried watching that incredible xylophone player and his beautiful, perfect solo. He’s amazing, and this is an amazing band of incredible musicians. It’s pretty difficult to have a band that sounds exactly like the recording but they do it. I want to see them live! It’s obviously possible.
Are you kidding me? Are you serious? There is even one dislike of this? Well, this is America and you do have the right to have all your taste in your mouth. This was a great radio song back in the 70s as well as on the Tomorrowland stage at Disneyland. I was a photo student who must still have some Black and white negatives of the Disneyland performance from 1976. This 2013 performance shows that the group is at the top of their game. Thanks for the great music.
May GOD bless you, your loved ones,as well as the band,Bruce.I was 14( looked 18) and smoked my first joint with my GORGEOUS 28 yr. old teacher, listening to this timeless gem.SEAR. True story.Continued the relationship ,VERY discretly( i NEVER told anyone until right now....Swear) for the next 4 yrs. and became the man I am.You guys really need to play at Empire City Casino in Yonkers,NY. You guys are truly wanted here, and the crowd is waiting. Thanks again, and good vibes to you,Bruce.
I was just getting into music at about 10 yrs old and listened to this on my transistor radio on the patio on a starry summer night...it was like a tribesman from the Amazon rain forest taking a sip of cognac. The worst part about getting old is modern music and the lack of artistry in the industry. I have consumed rock, punk new wave, grunge, etc., but all these years later, Starbuck finds its way to my ipod like childhood buddy that moved away.
This song is a pure classic song of the 70's!!! A lot of fun memories, enjoying the day, while jamming to this tune on the radio! Thanks and God Bless Starbuck!!! Carry on!!!
Actually I *think* he missed a few around 2.38 but even if he did, I would have missed about 200 when I was in my prime playing in college. It's always been one of my favorite solos of any kind - any instrument. I emailed Bo once asking for the tabs but he said they didn't exist lol. I don't blame him. great job guys it sounds fantastic still.
A great!!! and beautiful song that will be in my memory for as long as I live, I grow up with this music. Dear Mr. Blackman What about a DVD with all the super Star from the old days, I want a DVD of ALL this for my collection. LOVE your music ♫♫♫♪♫♪♫.
If I had a band I'd hire that big dude as a back up singer ...he's fired up... This song seemed to always be playing on the radio when we'd take our family trips...I had to be 14 at the time... Never get tired of this song..
WOW. I so remember that song! You couldn't get away from it on radio that year! To this day, it remains one of those songs that conjures up some of my most pleasant memories as a kid. Sad to know that Bo Wagner is no longer among us, but, what a nice legacy remains. Bruce, you've got a composition here that is lyrically AND musically, right up there among the best.
One of the coolest most magical songs of all time. I was 26 when it came out and bought the album on the very day the song was first played on radio here in South Australia. The whole album was very playable.
Wow great memories of a 10 year olds carefree summer. I may have had my stones singles as a 3 year old but this was the first album I ever bought. O his it in the jazz section at Sears till I could get back with the money. Thanks Bruce timeless song.
WOW Bruce, I first heard this tune crossing the Chessapeake Bay Bridge in my new wagon, with my new wife and infant child in the car seat ,what a theme song for our new life together. Regards to Starbuck... Please tour up north& keep us Yankees in NY posted!
Hey Bruce. By far one of the best songs ever. Always brings a smile and great memories back. With all the crap that's going on in the world, it's music like this that soothes the soul. Thank you
Bruce Blackman, you've still got it! The soundtrack of my life back in 1976 is still the soundtrack of my life 40 years later! Thank you for giving us a true rock and roll classic!
Dang that summer. 10 years old and everyday at the quarry with the same group. The songs from that summer are scorched into my brain. If only I could go back for one day.
Oh man, I wish I could have been there for this!! One of the iconic songs of my youth, and they still sound great! And he freaking NAILED that marimba solo!!!! Best era of music ever.
Wow. Spot on performance. After 40years, they still sound the same. Even the xylophone solo note for note sounds the same. Great job. Timeless classic song.
I Swear To God --- Ive watched this about 25 times now & everytime I watch it it takes about 10 mins for the Smile To Leave My Face!!! Thank You Soooo Much For Posting this and Thank You So Much To Starbuck for Making this Excellent Song to Begin With!!!! Its Without A Doubt -- A Classic!!! You Guys Are The Best!!!!
I absolutely love Bruce blackman and everything he and his group Starbuck has contributed to music. Every time I hear their songs I'm taken back to good memories in my life!
When i heard this song for first time was on the best Radio Station ever in Mèxico City, called WFM,and the DJey was Mr,Mario Vargas {RIP},39 years after im still playing this amazing song on my Stereo,i proud to say this i still have the LP since 1976.Thanks all members of this great band Starbuck for brang me good old memories, greetings from Puerto Vallarta,Jalisco,Mèxico.!!
When this came out, I was 24 and had just bought my first convertible. There was a favorite road I liked to drive up to the mountains where the moon was always shining in, and this would be playing as loud as my Pioneer and Jensen 6x9's could dish out. Wind in my hair, stars in the sky, Moonlight definitely Feels Right. It was total magic. Had no idea it was about a girl from ole Miss having fun until I heard the intro on this video. Now it all makes sense - I can assure you there were many memorable nights when my ladyfriends and I would fall under the spell of this tune. Thanks for bringing all that back to me - so keep doin' it, man.
It's one that really strikes that nostalgia cord for me, too, Charles. I remember asking my dad, "why does that guy laugh when he sings?". Every time this song comes on the radio I'm instantly lifted and happier. Bruce, you guys have created so much good karma out there, keep it up and thank you!
This song never fails to put a smile on my face. I was only two when it first came out, glad I've discovered it now though. Epic marimba solo too! The band still sound great.
missed you Bruce, you're awesome keeping the crew together, love your smile, singing and playing...great to see Bo hammering out his craft.....you're like the sun shining warmly and the planets and the moon interplaying everyone having a beautiful heart...they don't make attitude like this anymore I smiled through the whole performance.
I am 7 years old again! My favourite song in 1976. This takes me back to Myrtle Beach SC when we lived in Windjammer Village. I was riding my Green Machine, skateboarding and playing with Evel Knievel wind up motorcycles. Music was my video game and this song made me happy every time I heard it. The marimba solo is OUTSTANDING and shaped my future as a percussionist/drummer. Thank you Starbuck!
Saw them live in Kalamazoo Michigan at a fair. So much applause and cheering it was hard to hear the song! The marimba solo brought the house down (IMHO the "real" one had a more pleasing sound, but must have been a nightmare to move/tune . . . ). Am glad to hear Bo is a doctor now. Mr. Blackman, you rock, nice to see you lovin' singin' this song. Best to you all and Thanks for the Memories always.
Remembering the incredible musician and human being that is Dr. Bo Wagner.....My thoughts are with the entire Starbuck family, friends, and true fans like myself....Thanks, Bo!
You Bruce and the rest of the band wrote and composed one of the more great song of all the time. "Moonlight Feels Right" is a timeless jewelery. It's a song that transport me to another galaxy. I'm from Nicaragua, Central America; next to Costa Rica the country of Julio Moran. First person that showed in a video ( using his name )a complete live performance of this invaluable master piece. Starbuck is so famous in all Latin America, Japan, Europe. Still the radio stations plays this inestimable song. Thanks Bruce for this without price song. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Jajon05 for this fantastic video.
WOOOOOOOOOWWW! I can't stop saying WOW! Probably my favorite pop song of the '70s. I just love it and these guys (almost 30 years later) did a phenomenal job!! What a pleasure to hear this!! So wish I could have been present at the concert! If they come to Florida, I'd definitely go just to witness a performance like this! WOWWWW!
thanks for the memories i grew up in the 70s and even though i never seen them live heard their music all the time you guys were a part of long hot summers and good time and rest in peace bo wagner god bless you guys
No internal strife there ... Starbuck rocking out to the Number 1 Anthem of FeelGood & Everlasting Happyness! Enjoy this moment! Sounds just like 1976, AllGood!!!
+Bruce Blackman I want to thank you for this song. It's #1 on my list of what I call "time machine" songs, just ahead of Afternoon Delight lol. I was 14 when it hit the charts and every time I hear it, I'm instantly transported back to those youthful and carefree days.
Bruce, i've been a fan since this song came out, that wicked little chuckle still reminds me of a dirty old man, but i mean that in a nice way, if you catch my drift. glad to see you all still rockin after all these years !!!
how awesome too see these guys still playing...one of the best songs I ever heard...their musical talent...my compliments :)) thank you for up loading this version...still has so much charm...so many years later...
You gotta love this song. The marimba/vibes player and the lead vocal/keyboardist were the co-founders of Starbuck. Made me smile to watch them do it just like the record.
guao!!!...My Mother sang this song all the time back in the 70's, and I love it and I miss my mother, she is in the El Salvador, we are from there we knew about this melodical song...music is borderless.
Bruce Blackman what a big honor Mr. Bruce...god bless you for this melody that touched a lot of people in latin america, when this song played in my country we were in civil war. for me is like memories between my mother and the suffering of my people.
This song has been apart of my life every sense I was little. I grew up to it ..had relationships come and go...now I am 46 years young single, successful, bad ass house in the country where I get to turn this song up real loud and run around naked cleaning my house. whoop whoop
Thank you Bruce for this song. It's part of my dna. I had just moved to Washington state and heard your song on the local am station. Met my girlfriend listening to this song sitting along the Columbia River. It will always be a great song no matter how many years go by. It takes me back in time to 1976 and it is better every time I hear it. Thanks to you and your band. They are all excellent musicians.
Starbuck are awesome!! They used to play the Stone Pony clubs in Atlanta back in the 70s. Anytime they were there - so was I!! Sooooo good!! And, y'all look great, too!😀
You're in fine voice, Bruce! Like brandy in a crystal glass. Love the energy, great band, nice sound and good looking - so much fun to rediscover Starbuck!
Hey Bruce I loved this song as a kid. Great performance. 99% of today's pop music for the most part sucks they don't record stuff like this and other great 70's music
Dear God, it's so amazing to see the band back! I got to say it, this song and this band mean a lot to me. Great song! The 1970s had the best Poprock music!
excellent, and this was decades later in 2013, wonderful, one of my alltime favorites
Classic song that can never be duplicated! If this song doesn't get you in a good mood you don't have a heartbeat!
It always amazes me how it all comes together for a band for four glorious minutes. Words, music, time, vibe. Everything is just so perfectly right. This song is Exhibit A. They caught lighting in a jar just once, and 40 years on, the magic is still there.
Brilliant !!!! no quality faded since the 70's ! You guys SHINE !!!!!!
Thanks, Carlos.
I was just watching the video of this from the mid 70's and thinking how awesome this version sounds, some 40 years later. You guys still have it!
Wonderful song from my teenage and courting years of 1976 in Manchester, England. A long hot summer, with all the music just adding to the magic of my formative years. Love the main singer, and a big kiss to the chap playing the xylopohone. A real lovely human being. R I P and God bless.

That marimba solo was great on the record, and that was note for note live...wow, just wow...!
You're right, Arnie. I believe that Bo Wagner is the greatest marimba player who has ever lived.
Actually I *think* he missed a few around 2.38 but even if he did, I would have missed about 200 when I was in my prime playing in college.
Brings back memories of childhood in MD. Great song.
Wow, thanks TH-cam. This was a terrific performance!!
Hey Bruce I loved this song as a kid. Great performance. 99% of today's pop music for the most part sucks they don't record stuff like this and other great 70's music
When this beautiful music is heard..I'm happy..idk why..it makes me feel light.. It's a world in between 1965 1970..
It's as if I knew...carefree.
I think Tim Rice and Lina Kawar do am awesome job Bruce as back up singers. I remember hearing about the loss of the others. Great job.
