America's Eyes Part 7:
Edwards sat at his desk reading the reports in front of him, none of which were of any concern to the American Republic for they were only mere reports on scouting missions in the Mediterranean. So far nothing of interest had made its way to Edwards despite having been working in the admiralty for weeks now. Enough was enough, Edwards stood up from his desk and strode to the window, he looked across London missing his home in America. His thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door, “Yet more pointless reports that needed replies to.” he thought.
“Commander Oaken, urgent message from the Indian province.” a messenger said.
“Leave them on the desk.” Edwards said bluntly and waited for the man to leave before hurrying over to the desk. The red ribbon encased the letter as always but Edwards ripped it off to read it quickly.
‘Naval forces pulling back from Indian province as requested. Heading for America and Europe to contain the American traderers.”
Edwards reached for a sheet of paper and carefully copied the message over, but importantly in a series of numbers, the American code. If anyone found the paper, it would hopefully look like a list of random numbers. Edwards gently blew on the paper so that it would dry faster, it was dry enough for the paper to be folded and gently slipped it into a concealed pocket in his jacket. He stood and picked up the real letter ready to show it the admiral of the fleet.

Blackwood read the list of numbers in front of him, his list of operatives, and slowly considered each one before setting his mind on one. He called out to his secretary to see that the man was summoned to his office immediately.
Around twenty minutes later the knock on his door announced the arrival of his man. “Enter he.” called. The door handle twisted and slowly opened to reveal the man he had summoned. “Ahh Matthew, thank you for coming at such short notice. Please take a seat.” Matthew, with great hesitation, sat down in front of Blackwood and waited nervously.
“You are the man I need for this operation. A man who thinks and uses reason, yes I heard of the issues you had with the recruitment of an Iroquois man but it needs must. Yet you have a skill the rest of my men don’t have, you speak Portuguese.”
“Sir, if I may ask, how does that help us since we are not at war with Portugal?”
“No we are not at war with them, but the Cherokee hold land, once held by the Portuguese, in India and I need eyes there. It is a target ripe for the picking. It would not look strange for a Portuguese man to enter and wish to trade, an American would be entirely different. You are to head to India and establish a network of informers and relay it all to me here ready for the invasion. It may take years for us to invade but by then your information would be priceless and India will roll over like an obedient dog.”
“Yes sir.” Matthew replied swallowing all of his nerves, “India,” he thought, “what the hell, it was his job wasn’t it.”

I think your top priority now should still be the British. Focus your two armies in the northeast on taking Montreal and Quebec City as quickly as possible. That will deprive the British of their main recruitment centers in North America, and then allow you to send one of those armies north to complete the conquest of Canada while the other heads south to assist with the Spanish and Cherokee.
Along those lines, you definitely want to go after the British fleet as soon as possible so you can cut their remaining colonies off from any more European reinforcements. Just remember to keep your ships together, and keep them in range of the enemy. The two columns tactic from your previous naval success is probably still the way to go. However, you may want to consider detaching the Constitution and your Sixth Rate into their own group. Since those are your two fastest ships, you can use them as a "flying squadron" to get around the enemy to a different angle without being tied down to the slower speed of your ships of the line. Also, don't be afraid to send the Constitution into the thick of the fighting; she has almost as much firepower as your Third Rate or your Second Rate, and actually has more hp than either of them.

“Dear Jack,
We have been marching to face the British at the Inoquois Territory. Some of the men in the company are nervous. A few men have deserted the regiment but were captured and brought back to the regiment for a court martial.
John has transferred to our regiment from the 9th. He showed a few days before we marched off again. I was able to give him back his letter. The snow is still falling and our regiment is in the rear of the army so we have the worse mud to march though and a few of the men have lost shoes and boots in the mud including me. I lost my left boot.
I was promoted to the rank of Corporal after the death of Cpl Smith. When you send a letter please put Cpl on it so it gets to me faster. We have encircled the British. We have started to drill and pop shots at the British. We know a fight is coming and we are ready for it.
Until I write again tell mother and farther I love them.

Master of the Seas; pt. 5
John didn't think he could take any more of the storms of the Cape of Good Hope. Dolphin had been battling the waves and the winds for a week now, and there seemed no end to the raging storms. One moment, the skies had been clear, without a cloud in the sky. The next moment waves fifty feet high and winds that could blow a child overboard were battering the small ship. Never before had John encountered a storm like this. All the others had been gone within a couple of days and had never sent waves and winds of such magnitude.
It was on the third day that Thomas was injured. A powerful gust of wind had torn a rope free, which struck Thomas in the chest, sending him flying. John's brother had crashed onto the middle mast, then lay ominously still. John had feared he was dead, but the ship's doctor, Lucas Miller, said he would be fine with a little rest and calm water. Now, Thomas was laying, still unconscious, in the captain's cabin, and the command had fallen on John's shoulders.
First, John had ordered all loose items bolted down to the deck, or discarded. He ordered Obadiah and those trimming the sails to furl the for'ard mast and the aft mast so that they wouldn't break in the wind. Next, he divided those in the crew without training in sailing into groups to bail the water coming in. Gathering ten men, he commanded them to go below the deck and strap the loose items down to the ground or the walls so that they wouldn't damage the ship and put Matthias in charge.
The storm petered out after battering Dolphin and her crew for another three days. John looked up at the sky to see a shining sun for the first time in nearly a fortnight. Seeing the weary eyes of the crew, he ordered all but a few to go below decks and find some rest. He and Matthias stayed top deck, basking in the glorious sunlight.
"It could've been a lot worse, you know," Matthias told John, breaking the silence between them.
"It could'be been a lot better too," John replied. "Thomas got injured and so did Benjamin. Both Zacharias and Moses were swept overboard because of a mistake I made."
"None of us saw that wave coming, John. All our attention was on the one in front of us... no one expected you to be watching everywhere."
"Yes, but I should have been watching everywhere. I was in command; I was supposed to be doing my best to protect them. Instead... instead I forgot my duty as first mate, and that mistake cost two men their lives."
Matthias shook his head, "You're getting it all wrong. Without you, we never would have made it out the other end. We'd all be deep beneath the ocean, being feasted on by krakens and sea dragons."
To that, John had no answer.

"LAND AHOY!" shouted Harrison Wright from the crow's nest. "I can see Virginia! We're home!"
The crew below cheered wearily. Within a matter of a year, they had gone to the other side of the world, risked the threat of pirates and storms, came back, suffered through such storms, and now they were home again.
Thomas limped out of the captain's cabin, still recovering from the concussion he had received. Dr. Miller supported him on his way out, but Thomas shook him away, muttering something about doing it on his own. He walked over to where John was standing and said, "I heard what you did while I was unconscious. Thank you."
John smiled.
It was good to have his brother back.

John was lackadaisically reclining on a hammock that he had stretched out on the deck of Dolphin when he heard his name being called. Lifting himself to a sitting position, he looked up to see Harrison running across the deck towards him. Gasping, the boy handed him a letter, sealed with wax.
"It's from Admiral Barry," said Wright.
Curious, John opened the letter. He read it once, then read it again, not believing what he saw. He heard footsteps behind him and turned to see Thomas and Matthias walking towards him. Seeing the letter, Thomas asked, "What does it say?"
"It... it says that I'm being transferred over to the Constitution as first mate once it's finished. Matthias and Obadiah are being transferred too... Matthias as bosun. And it... said that Dolphin is sailing again to India to ship a rake over there," said John.
Thomas nodded, taking in the information silently. His eyes were blank, though, and John worried he might be upset.
"Then it is to India I must go," said Thomas. He sighed, rubbing his head, then walked away.
John turned to Matthias, and they exchanged worried looks.
"Who's our new captain, then?" asked Matthias.
"Some Samuel Nicholson."
"You want to go find him?"
John nodded.
The two left Dolphin, then disappeared into the town.
I think the opening battle (0:00-14:17) demonstrates perfectly why we need an Empire II - the AI in this game is *awful*.
That's not to say that other Total War titles have great AI, but at least many of them can hold together a coherent battle line and knows when it is better to hang back and make the enemy come to them.
I love this game and the period in general, but the first Empire hasn't done it justice. I guess we're going to have to beg and plead CA to revisit the period and do it right.

Spanish American War a hundred years early.
Spain and America came into conflict much earlier during the first Seminole war when the mad lad Andrew Jackson rolled up with big guns and men to "put down a Native uprising" and basically, since Spain didn't have the resources to defend Florida decided to sell it off to the US along with its native uprisings

A bit of advice for getting money.. Look at your "worst province" ie; worst general order. Put your taxes up to where the "Cash icon" on the middle left of the town tree isn't negetive. And for the lower classes tax them up to just before the "growth" (bottom left) is just above negetive.. This therefore gives you a good chunk of change, get your towns gaining more money each turn (increasing tax income), and helping your growth!
I advise that you get a foothold in India before the British. Goa, Mysore and Sri Lanka are great opportunities.
Britain already has a foothold in India due to the last start pos of the USA campaign

Some more advice.. (sorry so much but I'm trying to help..). For towns - When a town is literally ON a trade route / road or attached you should make buildings like the weavers or the iron works, this actually helps the trade wealth in the region as they pass through that town more. If a town isn't necessarily attached to a road it should be an "extra" like a school, rakes place, or church as they don't have much of a "economy benefit"..
So i wish i had watched this when you made these vids. Better late than never i suppose lol. Anyways i was gonna suggest attack ground with artillery at stationary targets. Cannons target the flanks of a units in the game and infantry ranks are deepest in the middle.

Hi @lionheartx10 : Just to let you know (for educational purposes) it's pronounced Ear - uh - coy (Iroquois).
On the way to the moose factory drop troops off at the northern British territories and take them in one fleets movement.

i dont mean to alarm you , suh but your cannon just unloaded canister shot through the back of your infantry... that could be bad for morale
I know this series ended, but man do I just wish this guy would devote a few turns to upgrading his towns and what have you in general.
If you use DarthMod in Napoleon Total War, are you unable to unlock achievements like: “Win a campaign with Spain”, “Win the Italian campaign on hard difficulty” and “Declare war on every faction and win the game without negotiating peace”?
We had some half hour eps i think we should get a 1.5 or 2 hour because of this😂
The French house that ruled France during the Revolution was called the Bourbons.
I believe the French Revolution started around this time (1789-1790), so I guess it's a scripted event. Kinda cool.
My advice is to make peace with the British but leave some border guards behind to protect your northern flank. Focus everyone else against the Cherokee and Spanish. Those Spanish colonies are a massive prize.
Also, if you want to send a small force to take Goa, having a small outpost in India might not be such a bad idea.

Imagine this great game with good AI... is it really so hard for them to make an AI that does actually hold formations and not spend the entire battle shuffling around their troops? This is the one major issue i have with Total War games...
interestingly the ntw3 mod for napoleon causes the Ai to perform far better.. im guessing a combination of much slower units and greater ranged but far less lethal guns really help in its calculations.. gonna try the empire realism mod as it looks very close to ntw3 and hopefully it will help the Ai

Lionheart you forgot to turn fire at will back on around 42:00 and so many men died bc of it :(

Guys if anyone knows anything about it I would apreciate it ..Recently I 've installed empire with all dlcs and some great mods like ''empires of destiny'' (which has already many sub mods and darth mod ) and also I've installed '' the musket sound mod '' ..But , I saw that due to the fact that empires of destiny is literaly a great mod intalling this, my musket sound mod isn't playable anymore in the game although via mod manager I've ticked it too.So my question is this : Does anyone know which sub mod that empires of destiny include should be turn off in mod manager to make the musket sound mod (EPIC mod ) to work together ??
