Letter from Private James Rogers of 4th U.S Infantry Company C to his younger brother Jack
    “Dear Jack,
We are still moving towards Texas. John and I have been leading new recruits in drill when we have time. Samuel has been dealing with things on Staff. We haven’t been hearing about other Armies but we did hear the British have landed in up north somewhere.
I met a French soldier yesterday as we marched pass one of their camps. They look like tough fighting soldiers. A group of them ran up to John and I as we were on horseback. They offered us food and one of them ask in broken English if we were part of George Washington army. John and I both smiled and shook our heads no. The French soldier smiled and said his father was with George Washington during our Revolutionary War.
I wish I could tell you how pretty this land is down here but my writing can not do it Justice. We have stopped for the night and now time to go lead drill for a little bit then off to sleep.
    Until I write again.
    Your Brother
    James Rogers
    Bevt. Second Lieutenant
4th U.S Infantry Company C, Dispatched to General Stibbert ’s bodyguard, General Hugh Stibbert ’s Army”

A letter from Sergeant Jōzəf Krimbeck 3rd Regiment, New York Light Dragoons K Company to his father.
    Mein lieber Vater
We’re free of the wretched swamps and bogs, heading through friendly lands and my boys are riding at the head of two armies on the march. The first frenchmen I passed were clearly impressed by the size and strength of our seasoned armies. While their english is a bit broken there were more of them that understood german so I was once again pressed into the roll of a translator as to insure no issues between our two armies as we passed through their lands. The locals here are mostly american and french settlers, they honestly remind me of our family or how father described starting a life in this new nation was like when he first settled here.
The country which we now ride in is beyond wonderful some of the best cavalry and artillery ground we have seen in a very long time. Stunning meadows and lush untouched forests crisscrossed by rivers and streams. Our armies cutting through it with great pression and vigor makes a man swell with pride to say the least. Knowing the force behind my men as we struggle to screen them. Screening the infantry and scouting ahead is nothing new for my men and I, but trying to screen two armies with as we maneuver and scout ahead is extremely taxing on the 4 cavalry regiments we have, even more so consider the generals have decided to have only two regiments screen in front of the army. A third is guarding the wagon trains and supply lines while the fourth is held in reserve to quickly react to any issue if summoned.
It’s debatable if having my platoon in K Company always being the scouting force is an honor or just because our Company commander doesn’t trust his other platoons with their green officers to do the job. For the last three weeks we have been out front and thus I have been the first man of these two armies to go anywhere, we’re about a day and a half ride from the main body of our screening force, a risky maneuver but it will allow us to get the best reports on the land. Our Company commander who also is a map maker often takes pride in knowing that two armies march along the maps he draws. I just pray our eyes don’t fool us and we don’t make a grave error as I feel these forces have a destiny with history.
    Your Son
    Jōzəf

An easier way to find the religion is to move your missionary out of the town / city, and just hover over the region, with the missionary selected and it will tell you the amount of your religion there is in the region..

Who knew the Indian had such centers of learning as these universities. They must have had legions of their own Isaac Newtons. Too bad I can’t name historical technician advances from the Indians.

Why bother with prepared positions? You never stay in them.

It's good that they came up with "army lost" penalty in later games. It's annoying to search for that last unbroken regiment when a battle is clearly won.
