    Went October 18th to November 5th. Can confirm that the food is amazing. Planning a central location is definitely a good idea.

      I went from the 18th to the 1st and a lot of the fun was just wandering and finding new things without worrying about it

      3 weeks is a perfect amount to be able to experience a lot! Sounds like a great trip 🇯🇵

    I have came across so many people having Tokyo -> Osaka or Kyoto in a single day using the Shinkansen in their itinerary. Some of the reasons I heard is because of JR pass and they want to experience taking the Shinkansen. Due to the JR pass price hike, JR pass may not be a viable reason now, but there are still people treating the whole traveling between Tokyo and Osaka/Kyoto using Shinkansen an experience that cannot be missed while in Japan. I have been to Japan 3 times, I have taken the Shinkansen 0 times.
    The last time I have Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto in my itinerary, I took a budget flight from Narita to Kansai Airport, which if I'm not wrong, can be shorter and cheaper than taking a Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka. I stayed in Osaka for a few days, visited Kyoto while I was there, then took another budget flight back to Narita, and stayed in Tokyo for the rest of my holiday. Why spend your limited time wasting it all on back and fourth Shinkansen trips between Tokyo and Osaka/Kyoto? How many places can you visit in a single day after subtracting the time spent on Shinkansen? Just choose a central location as your accomodation, then plan around it.

      Well, I too wanted to experience the shinkansen, so I have a 2 day excursion to Hiroshima/Miyajima planned. No JR pass, maybe next time if I can get enough days off to make it worthwhile.

      Will add it as a service to the site! Currently filling it up with content so it's not completely empty when I launch it next year!

    Personally, I greatly enjoy staying around the smaller cities like Hida. The hotels and food are much cheaper and the nature is beautiful there. I get tired of all the noise and concrete of the big cities.

    • @JustAnotherJapanChannel
      @JustAnotherJapanChannel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely! I also prefer staying in smaller cities, but I'm pretty sure first timers to Japan stay in the bigger cities instead of jumping in that deep 😂

      @JustAnotherJapanChannel True enough. Being at least conversational in Japanese helps a lot when visiting more rural areas. English help is a lot more common in big cities.

    Fellow Scaninavian here (svensk). Going back for the fourht trip during hanami season. But I thought it was gonna be crowded as hell during that season as well, going anyway, mostly because of less humidity/typhoons and of coruse not a bad backdrop.
    10 days this tips, 7 in Tokyo, 2 in Kyoto and 1 in Osaka. Why only 1 day in Osaka, well havent been there before so I dont know too many things to do.
    If I end up going to Universal that will be most of day gone but we will see.
    For sure most of my budget, except shopping for vinyls, is dedicated towards to food and experiences.
    Setting up that service sounds like a great plan.
    I have question, how quickly does the Shinkansen train tricket run out? Planning on traveling on first trains out so does not have to be during convient hours.
    Also, I would also appreciate recommendation for some Okonomiyaki and/or Takoyaki place that might be better than big chains.

      @JustAnotherJapanChannel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Currently writing a bunch of content so the site will have a lot of content on launch next year, will absolutely add the service and facilitate!
      Hanami season is great if you don't mind the crowds and just go at your own pace. As a fellow Scandinavian, I'm sure you hate crowds as much as I but will be able to manage by spacing out lol.
      Shinkansen tickets do run out pretty quickly during high season, but if you're a bit flexible on time there will always be another shinkansen 10 minutes after the other!
      One of my kinda secret and not well known Okonomiyaki/Teppanyaki shops that I really enjoy is Kunichan in Nishikujo. Excellent okonomiyaki, fantastic yakisoba and very cheap lemon chuhai 🍻

    • @JustAnotherJapanChannel
      @JustAnotherJapanChannel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately, post pandemic prices are crazy. You can get some cheap ones if you travel during 'off season' like peak summer, rainy season or February

  • @whatthehellcat
    @whatthehellcat 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    i'll be going to japan for 5 weeks in february/march and no matter how much i "plan" i still find myself never really following plans. i plan cities and then just go from there. i'm doing 2 and a half weeks in osaka and the rest in tokyo. also, huge yes to the website because my fat ass wants to go to the pokemon cafe SO BADLY!! and i have failed miserably way too many times to get a reservation lmao

    • @JustAnotherJapanChannel
      @JustAnotherJapanChannel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      February and March is so nice weather wise in Japan! That's exactly how I like to travel too, just choose cities and relax + explore.
      Definitely will add that service to my site as I've been getting positive feedback on it! Can't wait to get it up and running before summer 2025!

    I was thinking about going for a month in about a year, would you say the month of July or august would be more bearable?

    • @JustAnotherJapanChannel
      @JustAnotherJapanChannel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you gotta choose between July and August, I'd say July is more bearable. August this year in Kansai had a heatwave with temps upwards of 45c which is made even more unbearable with intense humidity!

    Hi well I'm planning to travel to japan in December is to see if japan is for me i have a friend from school who lives in Okinawa and I'll be staying in japan for one month because one week doesn't give the time to visit kyoto, osaka, or fukuoka so one month is enough to explore around japan and I'll be flying nonstop from PR to japan I'm not going to get the kfc Christmas dinner which is a Christmas traditional dinner in japan
    It needs to make a reservation for the kfc Christmas dinner because they quickly sold out the next day
    I always wanted to try japanese mcdonalds and other fast food chains like mos burger, domdom burger, and freshness burger before heading to the hotel

    • @JustAnotherJapanChannel
      @JustAnotherJapanChannel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One month is a good amount to be able to experience what you want to experience! The KFC Christmas set is pretty crazy, remember to pre order a few days in advance as they sell out quick!

    Definitely underestimated the size of Japan. I’m from Florida and japan is like 4 times floridas size but my wee American brain was like “America big 🦅 ahhh!”

    Down low shinsekai was actually the worse place i visited in Osaka, not sure if it was the crappy weather the miserable staff in every store or just the overall vibe. I fucking hated it. Also i got severe food poisoning from Kura Sushi in Dontobori.. That was not fun.

    • @JustAnotherJapanChannel
      @JustAnotherJapanChannel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Shinsekai/Tsutenkaku can be very hit or miss. It's become very touristy, so the staff gets a little shitty there at times!

    Not really a fan of planing everything to a really tight scheduel tbh. I like to take my time exploring stuff I didnt know about and actually experience a place instead of having a checklist of things "I should be doing".
