All I wish for is that Katsura Hoshino is healthy so she can continue d.gray man till the end of the story.
This series might take a long time to finish, but I feel the creator made the right choice to not do weekly anymore because the story and artwork is amazing.
I was watching D.Gray-Man when I was like 5. Now I have my Bachelor's degree... It's so crazy to think and be reminded about such small, yet so important parts of your past...

Hopefully, when the next anime comes out, this series gets discovered by everyone. This series is a gem, it deserves to be widely praised. Absolutely criminal this series is widely forgotten and underrated.
I know right! There are so many interesting characters to meet and so many theories to make, I find it a crime how no one talks about it as much as it deserves. I really hope Hoshino can see how special and loved her story is!
Well its at the backend for good reason, the chapter releases have been excruciatingly slow. Understandably so ofc but thats what happens. It stops being relevant. Anyway rn I dont think its a good time for DGray to make a return, theres too much toxicity. 1 mainstream effecting JJK 2 HxH making a return 3 One Piece taking a huge spotlight with it ending soon and its live actions and remake. Too much competition going on. I think once it settles DGray would have a really good opportunity to make itself relevant again
quite recently hoshino did a interview and she said that her plan was to make 50 volumes but idk if she will stick to the plan considering that would take her more than 30 years with this pacing
@@DelusionalMf618 she said that in a interview,i aint lying,i will send the link later bc its on my twitter pc and im not home rn...legit and all...there also are some other interesting questions abt the future of dgm story
Tbh I dont mind waiting as long as there won’t be any hiatus anymore & longer chapters. But it’s understandable that volumes have their set number pages so some chapters might be shorter. Honestly just hope that she’s healthy to keep going. She clearly has a direction for the story, & it’s clear she still has passion for it.
@@astationarylife Tbf, same. I don't mind waiting because it's one of my favorite series oat, and she did mention once, if I remember well, that she wanted to finish D.Gray-Man.
I love seeing content on TH-cam for D.Gray-Man. It's been an absolute favorite of mine for so long. I always preorder the manga when it's available to support Hoshino. She's the GOAT!!!
I only just got into the series last year, and it was an amazing ride. The latest fifty or so chapters have been the peak of the series imo, even if it's kinda hard to keep track of everything that's going on. I'm patiently looking forward to the final developments as the story continues, and I'm thankful for every chapter Hoshino realeases. I'll be there for the ending no matter how long it takes!
Hoshino just confirmed that she and her editor decided to fasten the pace in which the Storyline is set, as she truly wants to reach certain points in the series. I went through all Volumes for the Series Anniversary to redraw panels and the 50 page chapters were insane, there were like 3 chapters and the whole volume was done, they were like a full book on their own and I can't imagine how exhausting it must have been to do those with the short time frame she had and her several medical conditions. But I do think that switching to her current schedule has helped the series so much and she has set the roots for so many details so early in the series, secrets she hid, references to be made. I am glad she is not caught in the "we get a power up when the enemy gets stronger and do that on repeat" flow anymore that a lot of weekly series sadly have.
D gray man has been one of my favorite shounen for over a decade! It’s extremely slow release has been painful asfff but I hope we can see it properly wrapped up one day 🙏🏾
I was feeling nostalgic and just happened to stumble upon your video. I'm glad that I found a few more people who give this series the love and attention it deserves. I wish there was more I could contribute to the conversation however the last time I've read a chapter was about a decade ago and I believe it was a chapter in the 200s mark. All I can really do is hope that we ARE set for the next 10 years (or hopefully less).
This is really a surprising video. I've watched your other dgm vids before this, but I didn't expected you'll talk about it again (ty for that!) There's someone who took notes from Hoshino's live stream on April 28th and Hoshino said she'd try not to explore the past too much, I think. She said she doesn't want the current flashback to dwell too much from the present so let's hope we'll get a shorter flashback than Allen's backstory and we finally can find an answer about this series :^))
Seriously I cant even know who the antagonist anymore in this series and I love it. The way I see it both sides seems to fight each other without truly know the truth about the very holy war that they involved in. The fact that the Noah comes from much advance civilization from a fallen world making me think that maybe all their evil deeds is like a desperate act of men that know they are all living in a world with ticking time bomb. Road mentioned that the Pillar suddenly appears thus making me think that the apocalypse happend without warning or war (which really weird because the earl mentioned something about 7000 war but as we know the earl's memory and Allen's memory cant be trusted) thus making me think that there is some kind of eldritch force that occurs which I really love.....
I’ve have yet to check it out myself but from a good friend of mine who has a strong love for the series, it’s sad this series has a similar HXH situation and that not enough people seem to remember or talk about it
I was a big fan reading this series back in the day I think I read to around where volume 22-23 was. I remember the Kanda and Johnny were looking for Allen and I think they found him acting as a street clown? I have no idea what’s been happening since then because it went on a hiatus for so long. I still love the series and will probably catch up with it again when I find a good time but I’m not quite as excited to read it as I used to be. I’d no doubt love the lore and revelations that’s happened since then, but that wasn’t really what drew me to the series in the first place.
It was crazy to watch this because I just got back into reading the series after dropping it in like 2021, so I just read those recent chapters the other night. It honestly feels like the series is starting to wrap up, so if it still has a lot more that Hoshino wants to do, I genuinely wonder where it'll go.
I just stumbled upon your video! Thank you for this! I started reading this book at the age of 12 in 2006, I've gotten 2 degrees and am a working woman now. Every so often I come back to D.Gray-Man to see what's been updated but I always have to recall where I last left off reading to catch up to the most recent chapter. Regardless, I hope that Hoshino-Sensei continues to take her time and finishes the story, when she's satisfied. 💗💗
I love DGM so much I’m sad it’s so underrated. Really hoping one day we get an anime remake with a good studio because I’m convinced it would perform so well seeing how JJK is hyped up. Both are exorcist theme too of course but for me DGM power system is much more interesting and the plot progression so much more complex and mature while having the combat aspect that would appeal at the start of the series
this manga better have all volumes released in English before i turn 40 XD one of my favorites, then i am gonna re read all volumes again ( 10 years ouch, lets hope earlier than that, that also means 12-13 years to have it all released in English 😅
I’ve never read D. Gray Man or seen a full episode of it before, but it’s one of those things I’ve seen around pretty much as long as I’ve been into Japanese entertainment. I never realized how gorgeous the artwork in it was before this video. I usually never read stuff that’s unfinished, but I might have to after Ajin. You may have convinced me here. Have you ever done a video on Ajin? The manga is incredible and I can’t recommend it enough
I really enjoyed its anime and was reading it pretty regularly but the long hiatus and massive jumps. I’ll maybe see where it at again and catch up but it was such a jump that it was really hard to carry on reading. It’s confusing what went wrong for her
Didn't Hoshino say recently (within the last year or so) that we're only around the halfway point of the story? Meaning DGM may be continuing for *at least* another 5+ years, especially if the chapters continue on their current schedule. I love DGM. Been reading it since middle school. It holds a very dear place in my heart, but I have pulled back because of how slow the chapters release. I do delve into spoilers so I can keep up with what's happening, but overall, I'm just keeping from fully picking it back up again until we have more. Until we're closer to the end.
I’ve heard that be said before too, I’ve tried my best to source where that ‘50%’ figure came from but never could. At this point, with how the story itself is unwrapping the big questions, it’s still baseless on my part, but the story feels a lot more like 70-75% to me.
Honestly, I thought d gray man was done for, but I would LOVE for her to finish it. I already know for me but as well as many others it was what we grew up on and we don’t want it to end when it’s not done
I would like it if DGray was brought into the limelight again, I havent heard much of it in such a long time like seriously ever since the anime ended with like what was it 1-2 seasons. I hope someday we do get a full animation again because her story is good and her art ofc is also gorgeous but I do think she is slowing down...
Honestly i feel like hoshino will somehow comeback in weekly shonen jump or at least the monthly JUMP SQ ,some of her chaoters will be smaller but faster, plus with one piece ending in 2025 jump will be looking for new Hit manga to take the lead,we already know that gege akutami and tite kubo will be present once again in 2025 in WEEKLY JUMP, and hoshino hasnt complained about her health since 2018,maybe im delusional and im saying shit but i have some trust, look at hxh dozen of hiatus, recently changed magazine (still no answer wich one it is but im sure its gonna be a monthly one) but he got better as we can see in his twitter, all we can do is hope
I have to check this series out at some point. Yona of the Dawn is likely in its final arc if that interests you. Though, its art quality and release schedule had been fairly consistent for most of its run as far as I know. Undead Unluck might be interesting to look at, its narrative structure changes significantly after a certain point in the story.
