    This was my first motorcycle bought as a leftover in 1974. On the ride up my dad was saying how he’d get some money off the price. The dealer wanted $702 and my dad got him down to $700!!! The first few days my dad and younger brother spent most of the time riding it as I was struggling with clutch and gas to get going. This was so frustrating. 50 years later and I’m still riding. Off-road weapon I use for hard dual sports is my KTM 350 EXC-F. Easy dual sports I use my Honda XR650L. Lastly my BMW R1200 GSA for long distance back road rides. Typically ride one day a week year round weather permitting. Thanks for bringing back some great memories. One last one. When I finally learned to ride the CT3 I went out after a rain storm when dad was out. When I returned home it was covered on mud. I thought pops was going to kill me.

    Nice run on the old classic scrambler. The gold colour on the old Yamaha is still looking pretty good. I like the old bikes.

    nice work.
    if you dont want to buy the cooling fin rubber grommets, cut up some fuel hose and wedge it inbetween to keep the noises down. relativvely cheap and easy.
    another thing you might find handy is to use the air compressor blower to dry out the water in your fuel tank
    keep the vids coming!

      I did that on my old TY 175 - used auto crank breather hose. Try electrolosis on next tank - no more flash rusting like with an acid.@@Garage2Trail

    Good job sounds like it’s running perfectly. Can’t wait to see you out on the trail with it. With that MX cylinder head it should perform really well. Would like to see you compare it to the Suzuki 185 maybe do a trail Comparison side-by-side. Look forward to your next video

    Good job young man. If you need new parts where do you source them? Rings, piston, etc. petcock gasket.. I know you had the gasket but I'm sure my 73 DT250 which hasn't been started in 25 yrs will need it. Would there be MX mods for mine? I' am going to look at your series of vids on this bike. TY

    • @Garage2Trail
      @Garage2Trail  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you! I normally check the part numbers off CMSNLcom and then search those same numbers on eBay. I got all the parts for this off eBay and a few seals from rockymountainatvmc.com. You can still get brand new OEM Yamaha stuff believe it or not! If you can’t find the parts on eBay, CMSNL normally has them. They are based out of UK but it’s nice to have a last resort for hard to find stuff.

    Ha! I just had the same fight with the brakes on my dt100. Completely seized up. I did finally get it running for the first time in decades..for all of 20 minutes. Now it wont crank again. Think the coil died on me.

    • @lunchmeat5000
      @lunchmeat5000 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Garage2Trail 1975. Put a cdi ignition on it. Points and coils were completely shot. Bike ran for 20 minutes with a repop ignition coil, spark got weak, then quit. Tried the original one and no luck. I get voltage from the source coil when I spin the stator, but no spark when I connect either coil.

      I take your point but it didn't quite get to the heat stage. Agree abt the pliers though good job the spring was weak😁. A cable tie makes a better puller (gloves on to spare the flesh)
