Thanks for your video! Service tech said my problem was drain pump, sensor and control board all needed to be replaced. He also mentioned that sometime the drain pump blades are simply obstructed (food, broken glass, etc). After watching your video - and before ordering the three replacement parts he recommended (about $200) - I pulled the drain pump. Behold! a broken piece of glass fell out. I reassembled the pump and the machine worked as new. So....before you purchase a new drain pump, be sure the blades on your old one are free and clear. Thanks Again!

Great support! Great video of what was under the dishwasher before I took it out.
I followed all directions but there was a twist in my story. Once i got the pump off I noticed that i could inspect the blades by taking off the pump housing. I figured I was going to invest in a new pump anyway, what was the harm in taking apart the old one to see if it was even getting power.
After taking the housing off, I noticed there was a string and hair wrapped around the shaft. Doing my best to remove all that I then reconnected to power supply, with the housing still off, to see if the blades will spin now. IT WORKED! I closed everything back up and poured some water in the dishwasher to see if it will drain, IT WORKED AGAIN!
Thank you so much for the confidence to tackle this project. Keep up the good work.

Please read. My experience. Water not drained. I checked hoses. They looked clean and clear. So I wasn’t worry about it. Following the video I decided to buy a multimeter. Checked the water pump for continuity and “Everything ok” like 26 ohms. I still decided to order a new pump from Amazon for $29. Installed it and it works flawlessly. My dishwasher was pretty noisy when new because it has a new and strong draining pump. Last days it was doing very quiet cycles due to, what techs call it, a “tired pump”. Now. At least in my Whirlpool model, I didn’t have to disconnect or remove it from its place and put it upside down. I only remove a plastic cover from the bottom front and squeezed my hands through it. Very ease. First. Disconnect the power. Vacuum all the water. Using pliers, Disconnect the plastic drain hose that goes to the pump. And then. With a mirror. Locate the clip that goes on the other side of the pump. Press it and rotate the pump and voila. Clean and make sure there’s nothing obstructed. Disconnect the electrical plug and connect the new one. Easy peasy. I hope this helps. Salud 🍻🍻🍻

@@chantelm5288 at the 7:18 mark in the video, where he removes the pump, you can see one of the tabs on the white base where the tog of the black impeller housing slips in (his thumb is coincidentally pointing at it). There are three of these bayonet connectors equally space around the impeller housing. A counter clockwise twist will allow you to separate the housing from the base and reveal the impeller.

Steven thank you for the video. We don’t have the same model GE as you but we changed out the drain pump and checked all the hoses. It may be strange but we just started using our dishwasher in 2023 it was installed when we purchased our home that we had built in 2016. It’s quieter but water is collecting in the bottom and it’s not singing as it was previously when the cycle is complete. Any idea what we are missing? I would hate to have someone come in to look at it and it’s something simple we are missing, Thank you for your time,

  • @Canowoopass

I have the same dishwasher changed the pump no help, but I found that the drain line where it leaves the dishwasher has a check valve right after the pump. mine was stuck open piece of plastic was in there so the pump would not prime and always had air in it. The check valve looks like a 90 degree elbow that plugs into the pump……easy to miss. I almost bought a new dishwasher.
