Karandulena Monastery || කරඬුලෙන ආරණ්‍ය සේනාසනය, නිල්මල්ගොඩ

This historic #Karandulena Aranya Senasanaya, located about two kilometers from the Beligas handiya junction on the #Kegalle outer ring road towards #Ekiriyagala, has several dripstone caves dating back to the early #Anuradhapura period. There is an opinion that this cave is in #Karandaka Cave, where Chittagutta Maharahat mentioned on Vishuddhi Magga lived. Also, another opinion is that the tooth relic casket, which was brought to Kandy from #Delgamuwa Vihara on the day of the first King #Wimaladharmasuriya Kuruvita, was deposited in this cave, so it became "carved". The Kataram Caves have been used as Buddha Mandir and Awasa House. A part of the faded painting used as a temple. There is also a stone seat in front of the cave.
#කෑගල්ල පිටත රවුම් පාරේ බෙලිගස් හන්දියේ සිට කිලෝමීටර් දෙකක් පමණ #ඇකිරියගල දෙසට වන්නට පිහිටි මෙම ඓතිහාසික #කරඬුලෙන ආරණ්‍ය සේනාසනය #අනුරාධපුර මුල් යුගයට අයත් කටාරම් කෙටූ ගල් ලෙන් කීපයකින් යුක්ත ය. #විශුද්ධි මාර්ගයේ සඳහන් #චිත්තගුත්ත මහරහතන් වහන්සේ වැඩසිටි #කරන්දක ලෙන මෙම කරඬුලෙන බවට මතයක් ඇත. එමෙන් ම පළමුවන විමලධර්මසූරිය රජු දවස කුරුවිට දෙල්ගමුව විහාරයෙන් මහනුවර බලා වැඩම කරවන ලද දළදා කරඬුව මෙම ලෙනේ ද තැම්පත් කර තිබූ නිසා " කරඬුලෙන"වූ බව තවත් මතය කි. කටාරම් ලෙන බුද්ධ මන්දිරය හා ආවාස ගෙය ලෙස භාවිත කර ඇත. විහාර මන්දිරය ලෙස භාවිත ලෙනේ මැකී යන සිතුවම් කොටසකි. ලෙන ඉදිරිපස ශෛලමය ආසනයක් ද වෙයි.
