I just bought a paddleboard and have only taken it out twice both times in the ocean with small 1-2' swells rolling in with clean glassy conditions. So far I have struggled....the first time I fell off 6 times and the 2nd time just twice.....this is harder than I thought it would be even after over 5 decades of advanced surfing. How long does it take to get comfortable or natural at paddling and catching waves? BTW...awesome video for the novice paddleboarder 🤙👍
I literally watched this loads of time because I will be going in sea in England 😂I Willa a practice but I’m hoping to do Christmas Day 🤫we’ll see everyone saying no
@@primalsurfshop Would a 9'2 cocoflax allrounder be ok for my wife 132lb for some flatwater cruising .And some waves later. She is beginner to intermediate
That’s a little on the small side for a beginner. You should try to get your hands on a loaner or rental board somewhere to try it out first. If you’re in this area you could rent one from my shop.
Hi Melissa, Paddleboards in the all-around category generally have more bottom rocker as opposed to flatness of a touring board. The rocker allows for the board to fit an uneven water surface much better than the flat board. Flat boards are built for speed and stability. as a beginner, for someone that is paddling conditions like that you would do better with an all rounder. I hope this helps. Mike
Yes, I love the construction of the Coco. They use fused cell foam which is really the best for paddleboards. And they are using high quality sustainable products for the outer shell
What about sharks, I tried today but standing on knees would not cross my mind, most of the time was just laying down on the board watching the fish playing with the waves and pelicans 😂
Yes I do. Just email me at michael@psurf.com. For details. Please include details about your age, height, weight, and experience in standup paddle. Please keep in mind that you will also need to have your own wetsuit
I admire people that paddleboard. I don't like swimming in ocean. I only put my feet in ocean water. I'd only paddleboard in a lage pool. I like a pool better.
How so? I paddle in the ocean all the time, it’s very fun. Paddle boarding was popularized in the ocean initially. Whether it is downwind, touring or surf, ocean paddle is great!
Looks awesome, thanks for explaining the 3/2 wetsuit as well my brain read it the other day and I just thought what the hell I can understand 3/4 lol
Great, good explanation in such a wonderful Environment. Thank you. Greetings from Munich, Volker
Thank you 😎👍

In the late 1990s we went to Brigantine seal rescue.
Much success and health to all.
Why are you so awesome Primal Surf?
More to come.. so much to be said about the whole line-up. 🤙🏽
Great video! How was the NSP Allrounder? Did you take it out in more surf?
Yes, I like the 9’2” Coco/Flax in good surf. I’m 190 lb with 15 years experience in sup surf so you may want larger according to your size/skills

Would an all around board be appropriate for ocean paddleboarding for stability? Or what would be recommended?

Hello can you please comment on durability of coco construction ? THANKS

had my first day paddling and just jumped into the sea and padled out
Sometimes we just need to follow our gut.
You forgot to say you want an ONshore light wind.

Lovely I’ll like to contact you
What about the need to understand local rip tides?
Most definitely. Always check with your local Lifeguard’s first before venturing out.
Do you do winter sup surf lessons
Yes I do. Just email me at michael@psurf.com. For details. Please include details about your age, height, weight, and experience in standup paddle. Please keep in mind that you will also need to have your own wetsuit
