Of all the Upanishads (sacred Sanskrit texts), the Mandukya Upanishad is the shortest - consisting of just 12 sentences! - however, it is considered the most direct and the most powerful. The commentary, or Karika, composed by Gaudapada Acharya 1,500 years ago, it is regarded as the highest text of nondual Vedanta. Its goal is nothing short of transcendence of sorrow and the attainment of unshakeable serenity by the direct intuition of your own nondual nature. From January 2020, Talk 4 of 6.
Swami Sarvapriyananda is the minister and spiritual leader of the Vedanta Society of New York. He joined the Ramakrishna Math and Mission in 1994, received sannyas ten years later, and served in the Hollywood Temple. He was the acharya of the monastic probationers’ training center at Belur Math, and also served as the vice principal of the Deoghar Vidyapith Higher Secondary School. He regularly gives retreats and spiritual talks throughout the United States.

Cessation of all sufferings, how?
1. Light - just as light illuminates water, fire, etc but itself doesn't get wet, or hot. similarly, body/mind gets pain, you the consciousness will be aware of this.
2. Asanga (unattached)- nothing sticks to you. A pleasure, pain, touch, see, hear., etc, nothing stick to you ..it has no relationship.
3. Satya mithya - rope does not become snake, similarly the transactional world cannot affect the real world.
4. Ishana prabhu avavayay - Consciousness is not born, die, change, etc. Consciousness is limitless, fearless and does not wipe out transactional world. As bodies & minds we are many but by pure awareness we are one just as we experience all same in deep sleep.

At 5:27, Swami says you cannot infer (alaksnam) this Atman (Turiya) but in other lectures I've heard Swami say things such as: "It's by the light of that Atman, the mind is lit up" and "Its only by the presence of this Atman that 'knowing' in the mind takes place", so the fact that the body is alive and appears full of consciousness is due to this Atman being present. So there seems to be many effects taking place in the body and mind by which we can infer the presence of the Atman (Turiya). So why does he say here that it cannot be inferred?

nivṛtteḥ sarvaduḥkhānāmīśānaḥ prabhuravyayaḥ |
advaitaḥ sarvabhāvānāṃ devasturyo vibhuḥ smṛtaḥ || 10 ||
10. In it, indicated as the changeless and the Supreme Lord, there is a cessation of all miseries. It is the one without a second among all entities. It is known as the Turīya (Fourth), effulgent and all-pervading.
कार्यकारणबद्धौ ताविष्येते विश्वतैजसौ ।
प्राज्ञः कारणबद्धस्तु द्वौ तौ तुर्ये न सिद्ध्य्तः ॥ ११ ॥
kāryakāraṇabaddhau tāviṣyete viśvataijasau |
prājñaḥ kāraṇabaddhastu dvau tau turye na siddhytaḥ || 11 ||
11. Viśva and Taijasa are conditioned by cause and effect. But Prājña is conditioned by cause alone. These two (cause and effect) do not exist in Turīya.
नाऽऽत्मानं न परंश्चैव न सत्यं नापि चानृतम् ।
प्राज्ञः किंचन संवेत्ति तुर्यं तत्सर्वदृक्सदा ॥ १२ ॥
nā''tmānaṃ na paraṃścaiva na satyaṃ nāpi cānṛtam |
prājñaḥ kiṃcana saṃvetti turyaṃ tatsarvadṛksadā || 12 ||
12. Prājña does not know anything of the self or the non-self nor truth nor untruth. But Turīya is ever existent and ever all-seeing.
द्वैतस्याग्रहणं तुल्यमुभयोः प्राज्ञतुर्ययोः ।
बीजनिद्रायुतः प्राज्ञः सा च तुर्ये न विद्यते ॥ १३ ॥
dvaitasyāgrahaṇaṃ tulyamubhayoḥ prājñaturyayoḥ |
bījanidrāyutaḥ prājñaḥ sā ca turye na vidyate || 13 ||
13. The non-cognition of duality is common to both Prājña and Turīya. (But) Prājña is associated with sleep in the form of cause and this (sleep) does not exist in Turīya.
