I first studied Indian Philosophy / Sanatana Dharma via Alan Watts (as a teen), later (more directly) with Pooja Swami Dayananda Saraswati of Yogaville, and Sri Yogi Edmond Cotton. Swami is a pleasant speaker, extremely well prepared and very clear. I am 86 and clearly remember the instant when I became conscient. My mother told me that I was 9 months old. To become conscient is like waking up yet with a strong feeling toward reality. So what is reality? It cannot be part of a dream because all living creatures wake up to life. Is consciousness then part of life?

Marvelous lecture, Maharaj. Thank you so much for that excellent talk Swamiji from the " happiest " country. Incidentally, there's a recent article published in NEJM demonstrating presence of in 25 % of patience in coma. We'll, that's only preliminary. There must be more. May be Swamiji can elaborate on that. Similarly, swamiji will be gracious enough to incorporate Genetics, Epigenetics n Karma to explain why only a chosen few become " enlightened " whereas the majority remain in the 'miserable' neverending cycle of hardships and 'unhappiness ' unlike the Finns.

When u wake up,
You will wake up with your body , your dream may disappear.
Your cognition that I dreamt will not disappear.
I wonder if Advaita Vedanta is all and only about Brhatmaatmagyaan, or if there are other parts of it which rarely seem to get discussed.
That is the ultimate ..beyond that, is only the experiential plane…nothing to be known and discussed

Based on this, the question is why should I care about consciousness? It seems to be over encompassing entity which makes everything and is everywhere. It cannot be impacted and does not impact anything.. How does this knowledge help me in my daily sufferings through everyday life?

18:52 I apologize to say this to you, but what "disconnect" or explanatory gap is there about the perception of the surrounding world by the living beings? Multiple organs and systems of the living body work together to get that perception when it is not under any form of anaesthetic. An Anaesthetic can take away my "awareness" of the left hand, right hand and other parts.
Quantum could give us many more explanations from the modern world, while I really appreciate Swami explaining consciousness (not mind, that he says that the modern science is working on) from the advanced ancient understanding on human consciousness as the Witness.
So, now I understand that I am a real smuggler. I smuggled arms, legs, flesh and bones from past karma. And I will be smuggling other parts from the universe to satisfy my present karma. I shall be a plant, an animal, a stone... my next rebirth is an act of sumuggling.
If there is only one Consciousness, why is it not enough for only one person to be enlightened, but everyone must go through this process of enlightenment?

I read it but it was still not clear to me. This means that there is only one consciousness in which my person appears, through which other beings and the universe appear. So all enlightened beings and the rest world are just a perception of my mind. This consciousness which projects me, through which I project the whole universe, is contaminated, it is an appearance of pure consciousness, and it goes through a process of purification. Ramana Maharshi says that this consciousness which perceives this world of pleasure-pain is only an illusion, the true consciousness perceives only itself. Swami Sarvapryiananda speaks of the consciousness that perceives this world as the supreme consciousness.
Swamiji discussed the bet between Christopher Koch and David Chalmers. In 2023, Scientific American reported "Koch then doubled down on his bet. Twenty-five years from now, he predicted, when he will be age 91 and Chalmers will be age 82, consciousness researchers will achieve the “clarity” that now eludes them. Chalmers, shaking Koch’s hand, took the bet.". So, the debate goes on...
If ocean water, the space it occupied and salt ….all coexisting …there is no subject object when everything occupies the same space.

Swami ji I have a question regarding object and subject and you said everything that’s an object can not be subject and then you said that truth is very close to object that means it’s an object so my question is the ultimate truth is is Sat-Chit -Ananda or our existence that’s where I am confused. Does that make the ultimate truth also an object . This is coming from a person who is still understanding 101 Vedanta .

This does mean Brahman is real, and the universe is like a fake snake or illusion.
This just says that all countries, though divided by geographic location, all countries are unified as one globe.

विकारांश्च गुणांश्चैव विद्धि प्रकृतिसम्भवान् || 20
If 17 verses accepte as illusion. 20th verse prakruti and atma both being beinningless will be meaningless
Swami Sarvapriyananda talks about Consciousness, the Witness in which this world appears in three phases: waking state, dream state and deep sleep as the ultimate reality. But there is another view in which this Consciousness is actually a false one, which is only the appearance of the one that really exists. True ,pure consciousness does not project any world, but is only aware of itself.
They won’t be able to explain where is this mind located ….

He seems to be an expert of the outside world received by him through his sense organs. I missed him talking about insights or intuitive knowledge of consciousness based on his own experiences at the spiritual level. This was expected as he is a monk of a reputed order.
A dead person’s brain is still there … why isn’t he conscious…. Where did his consciousness disappear if consciousness is everywhere…. What has gone from his body that he’s not able to function …? Again they will say mind survives the body and at the same time saying that mind is only an object ….
In your awareness you report the person is dead etc etc.
In your awareness there is experience of the mind. It is natural to identify with it and say: My Mind.
When the mind is in deep sleep You are there despite the lack of experience. Because when you experience the waking state of the Mind you say: I fell into deep sleep but didn’t know anything. How?
When your body and mind dies (hopefully not for a loooong time!) who or what will report that the mind is gone or not? Yet like in Deep Sleep You the Existence continues. What would be the argument that Existence ceases? Where would Existence "go"?

There is no his or her consciousness....he or her,ne or you,it or that is in the consciousness.
Even the dead body is in the consciousness.only that the dead body is not being able to transact with the world...and all of this is happening in The consciousness.

Well, its has been shown thorugh Scientific Methods that they react to their enviroments. Plants use acoustic vibrations in their everyday lives! Evidence has suggested that plants can communicate with each other through vibration. Plants can even locate water by sensing its vibrations with their roots. They seem pretty conscious, not as conscious as humans ofc.

In the History of Finland,a Tech- Country, happy country in term of Materialistic comfort come to a juncture by organising this Lecture by a small group. The present purpose of Technology is bringing comforts and happiness but not"Elevation of Human beings in terms of SPIRIT" would be the true purpose of Technology.
If consciousness is so powerful it's everything why can't it reveal itself. Then it's a weakness of consciousness and if it is a weakness than it's not all pervasive and strong as Swami ji is describing it
