Thank you so much for including those of us with WIDE FEET!! It's already hard enough to find shoes, and I was almost gonna give up on even ordering skates because I always felt like it would be too difficult to find my size. Thanks for giving me hope!
Yes! I think this is my main issue with finding skates, I’ve tried a couple second hand pairs and my feet like cramp up and that ruins my whole experience skating and makes me even more afraid to fall 😂
I heard the moxi rainbow riders are really good for wide feet I do not know entirely . I just know they have great padding since I used to skate in rainbow riders.
I got the Papaisons!!!!! No pinching. No poking. Lacing on outside helped my bunions. (Eww, I know, but it’s ok). The liner is a smidge thin, but not major. My feet don’t have much padding, are flat, and overpronate, so not surprised. Can’t wait to start skating!!!!!!!!!❤🛼
Update: I went to the skating rink twice. Had a ball skates were fine. Luckily, someone adjusted the bottom (trucks, I guess) so the wheels would roll better/longer distance. He said I can switch out the bearings so I roll more, and he was impressed by price for quality. Either way, these skates were great.
A little tip get nice insoles if you have foot pain. If you had the money to spend get the fp insoles collab with estro jen. Those insoles have made my feet feel amazing
Returning to skating after DECADES and got overwhelmed by the prices. I'm not investing $200 plus wheels and bearings until I learn more. Thanks for posting this!
Thank you for considering those of us with wider feet! It's been such a struggle trying to find the perfect pair of skates on a budget, can't wait to give some of these a try!!
I have skate two times in the last 25 years. I use to skate all the time as a teen. I am starting to skate because of my daughter. So much variety! Thanks for your reviews!
The timing of this video is immaculate. I have been skating, but the skates I got are from a thrift store and I can totally tell they're the rentals from a roller rink. So, they hurt lol. Didn't want to break the bank for some new ones, so this is an awesome video! Could you maybe make a video on some outdoor wheels that are affordable or do you have any recommendations? Gonna buy the papaisons but I can tell those wheels are gonna struggle with any pebbles. Thank you so much, you're amazing!!! ❤
Hi Dasia!🙋🏼♀️ I’m a new sub and new skater. This was the first instructional channel I looked at. There were a few others but I was more drawn to this one and I am SO grateful and happy to have found it! Love your house, your furniture, your kitty, who just made an appearance and I LOVE your energy! You are fantastic! Thank you for this! 🧡💕🧡
40 yr old here!! Picking up roller skating and your channel is FEEDING me! Got the Elite Reewind per your rec for my wide feet and excited to do this ❤
A testament to representation matters I came back to watch this video just to see how that pink candi girl looks on my skin tone 😍 really helpful review.
I got impalas during the pandemic and was surprised the make was fairly cheap. Lesson learned! My second pair were top of the line Moxi. Miles and miles better. Worth every penny.
I love me some house hunters; watched an episode today and you are so right...always showing the higher priced homes; lol-Impala marawa rose gold was my 1st pair ($54.00 plus tax). Still using today. 2nd pair Moxi panthers (nice skate but boot is stiff as all get up but good support)...my favorite skates are Evokes by Crazy Skates (purple and teal). The boot provides great ankle support and not stiff; I can easily turn plus I have flat feet and they are wide. I love love the wheels; a little pricey but worth it and NO break in period. Now they do have what's called warehouse deals and I was able to get a brand new pair on discount with the suitcase. I like those Papaison. Great review!
My daughter and I have the Rainbow Riders. She has black and I have yellow. We swapped the insoles for some nice Dr. Shols and we changed the wheels to some we liked indoor outdoor wheels. We love those skates!
Not sure if it's because I'm in Europe, but the link to the Papaison led me to what seem to be the same skates in a different colour... but at more than double the price 😵 I located the black ones just by googling them, but you might want to change the link (or add a second one) if it's affiliated. The Impalas seemed to be very popular with beginners here, but I had seen on line that they were more suited to narrow feet. I may try them one size up in my local shop, but I think you've sold me on the Papaison!
Thank you so much for this review! Returning back to skates after 20 yrs. I was clueless with so many options out there. I am so grateful for all your tips and tricks. You have been a great inspiration to me returning to the skates and skate life after a wrist injury and the fear. Many blessings and positive Ache' to you!
I bought impala rollerskates this weekend it was 119,99 euros but the sale price was 59,99 euros so I was lucky. I was just kind of upset because they didn't have my size for the colors that I wanted, but I got the black ones and they are pretty cool too💞💞
Thank you so much for this review! I’m just starting out with roller skating again and this is really helpful to decide where to invest. All of your beginner tutorials are perfect!
Thank you for sharing so much information! Truly appreciate you. Just ordered skates for my daughter’s 10th birthday. She’s been skating for a few years, but with little kid adjustable skates. Now she wears women’s size shoes and I’m excited for her to try the Papiason skates. Once she puts them on I’m having her watch your videos to learn more great moves. Thanks again!!!
I did something I’ve never done before….. I ordered something from watching a video that I didn’t even research. I’ve been skating consistently for about 2 or 3 months and I wanted a pair of roller skates instead of rollerblades. Even though I really like my rollerblades, I want to try quads again because I heard they’re easier to learn how to skate backwards on and do dances instead of rollerblades but my problem is that I’m really short so I can still fit in kid sizes (I’m 27) so I have issues finding skates that fit me. I’m always cautious about buying shoes and clothes online because I never know if they’re going to fit or not but I decided to take a leap of faith and go for it! I decided to try the Papaison skates because they came in a size 3 women/2 men and I’ve never seen adult skates that size before. I was afraid that they might be too big but ordered them anyway. Thanks to your video, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get them. I like to double up on socks when I go skating so when I tried on the Papaison skates, I had 2 pairs of socks on and they fit perfectly!!! I was shocked that they fit so well!! If it wasn’t for your video, I never would’ve known about these skates!!! Thank you so so much!! I’m so excited to try them out on the skating rink floor!!! The only thing that’s different in this video compared to now is that the Papaison skates aren’t $62 anymore. They went up to $75 but because they fit my small feet so well and they’re so comfortable, I’m happy I was about to get some skates less than $100! PS, white was my first choice but pink was my second. I had to go with pink because they were the only ones that had a size 3 available but I’m still really really happy with them. Thanks again!! 🥰😊👌🏾🩷🛼
I'm roller skateling curious and love your demonstrations for how to skate. But I found your channel through all of your excellent, thought-provoking, lived experience social commentary and education efforts. Keep up the great work, and namaste. 🙏
Thank you! You are the reason why I started to skate. I am 35 and I am still learning how to. Bought a Moxi Rainbow Rider (I live in the Philippines) and it is one of the only option for a good starter skate that's available here locally. Hoping to learn a lot. :) Thanks!
@@DasiaDoesIt Getting the hang of it. I bought fundaes for wheels, I have 2 toddlers so I don't have much time in between changing wheels. I just like to roll and go. Practicing everyday with my firstborn helps. I got him into rollerskating as well so it's a mother and son thing for us. :)
This was cool to see . Im a intermediate+ skater and am in need of new skates soon . I would love to see this kind of video with the more expensive skates 💜
Papi over its brother because of the adjustable toe stop. I bought a used pair of Reidells (111 boot/same as Moxi RR boot) and just bought the Reidell Orbit to set up as an outdoor pair. I dont want to have to swap wheels whenever I go in/out.
I just placed an order for my first pair of skates! I got the papa johns haha however you say it but im so excited ❤ cant wait to start something new. Thank you for your videos 😊
Oh my gosh the Moxi skates I really wanted… ordered when they were on sale for $70 and they never sent them! I got a refund but now they’re not on sale anymore in the color I wanted. I ended up getting the Ruthfot and they’re actually really good. Not very heavy and rolls really smooth, good ankle support AND fits my wide feet.
Your channel was suggested. So I watched the first video on how to lace up. I haven't skated in years, and I'm ready to get back in the rink. I've been eyeballing the Candy Girls. I like them.
I just went down a rabbit hole and the roller derby rewind are just the men’s version of the Candi girl Sabina. They’re the exact same skate. Just passing this along because I was looking for the rewinds but couldn’t find my size. I can find my size in the Sabina though 👌🏾👌🏾
Impalas were the only budget friendly, local option. If you figure skated ever, you would know how to break in the boot. It sucks that a 10.5 woupd have suited me best, buy I had to buy 11, but it keeps the pad of my foot from feeling squished. I do agree the ankle portion of the boots is BOMB! ($149 CND) If I could have justified the $460 CND price tag for the Moxi Lollys, I would have gone with those.
Awesomeeee! ❤️💛💙🩷 I just got the exact Moxi Rainbow riders before I found this video (first time skating since I was a little kid) and it’s realllly good to know that I got an amazing pair of first skates! Went out on them for the first time today and they were very supportive. I also have very wide feet and yeah, I had to spend a while pinching and tightening the laces in places, but I feel they’ll settle in soon. I was delighted to find that after 3 hours they didn’t hurt the outer sides of my feet like some shoes can. I found them very easy to adapt to, and they are beautiful! 🤩 I also managed to pick them up super cheap £55 on sale, so I’m very happy with this! Thank you Dasia for your channel, have been binging and studying your vids and it’s really helped me 🩷
Thank you so much for the reviews! This is my price range until I get more serious about skating as a hobby. I'm going to ask for the Papaisons for Mother's Day, but in a teal color. 😁 We go skating at our local rink all the time and the rental skates irk me, it'll be so nice to have my own pair to wear there and practice in at home. 😁
I do want to point out that between the Papaison and the Roller Derby rewind freestyle, with me also having a wide foot, The Papaison is actually a better option for me simply because of the size options. I have a half size foot and the only sizes Roller Derby offers for the rewind freestyle atleast are whole sizes. My foot size is a 10.5 in Women's which is also an uncommon size and Papaison actually offers my size. This was one of the biggest factors for me.😶🌫
My man could not wait until Christmas and gave me VNLA skates yesterday. They’re beautiful. I think the wheels are a little too fast for me. On my third trip to the rink, I fell for the first time! Immediately ordered Moxi protective pads because I seriously lucked out by not injuring myself.
Yay! Welcome to the club! You can tighten your wheels just a little bit to control the speed and gradually loosen them to their normal state as you become more comfort.🥰
I appreciate you for putting together this video! I don’t necessarily have wide feet, but they certainly aren’t narrow and I need to consider how a skate’s pressure points. My daughter has discovered she likes to skate. She wants to have her birthday at a “local” roller rink. I have a niece with hyper mobility syndrome, and want to do what I can to ensure she can successfully participate if she wants to. I have to take into consideration her weaker joints, low muscle mass, and that she tires out more easily. The Roller Derby Elite looks like they may be a good option with the nylon trucks and ankle support. I’m still learning about how to choose the right wheels for the performance we’re looking for. What do you recommend for indoor skating? I’m guessing a small hard wheel to minimize effort but reduce reduce speed, but I’m not confident that I’m making the best choice.
@@itspossible3381they have been great I got my shoe size since it’s meant for wide feet. They have good ankle support I actually love them! I rode around in them for hours as soon as they delivered.
@@itspossible3381 hi! i love gm skates they are comfortable and have little airways to get through to my feet whenever they get hot and i got men size 8. that’s equivalent to a women’s 9.5.
Awesome ❤ thank you!! I haven’t bought skates online (the only place I know to find them) because my wide feet make me have to try on shoes. Thank you for mentioning that for every single pair. I skated from ages 6-25 and I miss it, nearly 20 years later. I just learned so much from this about skates and shopping for skates, as well as all the juicy details about these skates. Thank you for doing this video! I’d love to see your rockin skates!
Ive been finding myself coming back to ur page for tips, & s/o to us weak ankles and wide feet low arch girlies, its hard making sure we got the right shoe we can enjoy skating
Which are best skates for artistic indoor quad skating?.. I mean feather likea) wheels which are best ... b)plate C)boots material ( i guess heels would be better, what you say) C) with stopper Thanks
I got the c7 skates and I love them but I agree on the vinyl cracking easily. I went indoor skating and I fell and my skate barely skid the floor and it took off the vinyl. So I you worry about aesthetic be a bit careful. But overall good skates. 18:3418:34
Super helpful review, thank you! I'm looking for my 4 year old daughter's first skates - anything else I should look for in little kids' skates? Thanks!
Hello I think your channel is awesome and currently practicing some of your tips on skating moves. I know this list is primarily for women but could you do one for us men or any suggestions?
thanks for making this video!! not sure which one i should pick between papaison and elite, i do favor the flexibility, outdoor wheels, and my feet and ankles are also more small and narrow. I think id be able to change out the wheels so thats not too big of an issue either, but still not sure which one to get
Wow I would skate with you any time been skating sense I was 4or5 I met my ex wife of 22yrs at the rink my brother was the east coast champion of 70 or71 love your show technical skills at teaching thank you I could been champ to but mom dad ran out of money and life got in the way lots love old dude
Skateboarder here, looking to getting into roller skating. I'm watching your videos waiting for my skates to arrive and I'm just now realizing that roller skates have trucks that turn with pressure like a skateboard?! I have no idea how I didn't realize that sooner.
Only one of these even came in my size (11, cuz half sizes arent available) so I guess the choice has been made for me 😅 Thanks for the video, it can be tough being a bigfoot out here ❤
❤ thank you for doing this video because it really helped. I haven’t skated in over 40 years. I’m 58 years old and I have had bilateral hip replacements. I’m a little nervous about getting up on a pair of skates, so what is your take on a person like myself who is going to fall I’m sure. Just to let you know I’m taking precaution in so far as buying those padded shorts. The wrist support, the elbow support and a helmet. Also, the video was great I just wish there were more Girly options. for someone like myself who wears a size 13 women’s shoe. That elite one did come up to my size so I’m glad that you like that one and that’s the one that I put in my cart just to let you know❤
What was that squeaking coming from the Papas? Was it the boot; the wheels; your floor; or the microphone? I'm looking into skating and I don't want to feel my teeth raddle/be forced to constantly listen to music Also this video was really helpful, thank you 😁
OK so the freestyle elite arrived today I tried them on and they are as heavy as my Riedell skates… And the fit is the same. suddenly I remembered that I used to wear men’s trouser socks, and lately I’ve been wearing my own regular socks, which makes the boot fit tighter. Because the boots in the elite skates fit exactly the same way as my Riedell Lol! What I did to ease the heavy feeling is I loosened the wheels on my skates and I loosened the trucks on my skates. I had not noticed that overtime they tightened back up. Now I’m going back to the videos I watched before this one of yours to learn how to do simpler moves. Thank you so much!
I love your review style. This video helped me to summarize what is most important for me in skates. I bought skates a month ago. Came back now to show respect. Sadly i live in small European country and have no access to almost every brand of yours except for Impala and Moxy (and even they are not sold here but can be ordered from DE Amazon). Moxy was OBVIOUSLY too expensive for a beginner (i hate rainbow ones - i would only go for the pricy watermelon coloured). And everyone is shitting on Impala quality which made me scared at the time. So i decided to orded Rio Roller for 80 Eur. Got myself protective gear in local skate shop, ordered a skate tool and toe protection. The only somewhat quality skates that can be purchased in my country are Chaya. Do you have any friends with Chaya? If so, what is the verdict on them?
@@itspossible3381 hi!, sorry, I'm not American so idk which is my american size, what I've do was Measure my foot and Get the measurement in centimeters, with the measurement in centimeters my foot fits perfectly!
My son just turned 8 this month and he's very interested in trying roller skating. I loved going roller skating when I was younger and haven't gone in over 30 years. I love your reviews on beginner skates and which ones you recommend for people with wide feet like myself. Any good brands for kids that are budget friendly and are the skates different from shoe sizes?
I tried roller skating during covid but I got spooked after a pretty nasty fall. It's been a while and I'm much stronger physically so I think I MIGHT try again, I have Beach Bunnies but they just aren't comfortable for me, I have a wide foot and I have pressure points in them. The Papaisons seem like the ones to get and for $60 I think I'm willing to give them a shot!
thanks for that tidbit about rainbow riders. i bought them as my first skates because they came super recommended for beginners and are okay for outdoors but i felt like i didnt like the wheels very much but didnt really know if that was just me not knowing shit or what so im going to get some different wheels now lmao
Would you recommend the papaisons for someone with a thin foot? Does wearing skates more aimed toward wide feet affect the fit/performance/safety? Thanks so much, and thanks for the informative video!
Can you please tell me what skates you currently use and what size you ordered them in? I have the same type of feet as you and I take the same size. I'd like a comfortable pair that aren't beginner skates. Thanks for making this video.
My skates were from Sports Direct (uk), the No Fear figure roller skates and I literally got them for £25 half price from £50 and theyre quite comfortable

($149 CND)
If I could have justified the $460 CND price tag for the Moxi Lollys, I would have gone with those.
These are the exact pair I bought last week. Your rating is definitely on point. 👌
This was one of the biggest factors for me.😶🌫
Hi there! You just buy the skates in your actual shoe size?
My man could not wait until Christmas and gave me VNLA skates yesterday. They’re beautiful. I think the wheels are a little too fast for me. On my third trip to the rink, I fell for the first time! Immediately ordered Moxi protective pads because I seriously lucked out by not injuring myself.
Yay! Welcome to the club! You can tighten your wheels just a little bit to control the speed and gradually loosen them to their normal state as you become more comfort.🥰
😅I love the comment “I Know that it’s 75 thousand dollars over budget! “
😒 Hate those, like you basically don’t care about me
😂😂❤❤ Your video
Just ordered the roller derby elite reewind based on your review. Can’t wait to try them out!!!❤
I got the papaisons as soon as this video ended!! Thank you so much they’ll be here tomorrow!
@@nomadzworld That is the one I’m ordering after watching this video. Did you like them? Did you just order in your regular shoe size?
@@itspossible3381they have been great I got my shoe size since it’s meant for wide feet. They have good ankle support I actually love them! I rode around in them for hours as soon as they delivered.
the second boot the papaison’s are my first ever skates i’m so excited to wear them i also got them off amazon!!
Hi there! Did you like them? Do you just by the skates in your regular shoe size?
@@itspossible3381 hi! i love gm skates they are comfortable and have little airways to get through to my feet whenever they get hot and i got men size 8. that’s equivalent to a women’s 9.5.
@@thatgiirladrii thank you 🙏🏾
Awesome ❤ thank you!!
Great video! Thanks so much. It's wonderful to know that skating is affordable. I'm excited to get rolling on a regular basis!
OMGOSH!!! Thank you!!!! Im about to start my skating journey and coming across your video, was right on time!!😊😊😊😊
Have fun! Welcome to the club boo.
Thanks for this. You really helped me narrow down a choice. Much appreciated. 🙏🏾🤙🏾

@@DasiaDoesIt its next week friday woo
I'm getting back into roller skating and trying to find the right skates for my feet thanks for reviewing all of these skates ❤️😊
Ive been finding myself coming back to ur page for tips, & s/o to us weak ankles and wide feet low arch girlies, its hard making sure we got the right shoe we can enjoy skating
“Angry skates” 😂😂😂 Thank you so much for this video. I’m planning on taking up skating at 51 with my 11 year old son. 💛🌈☀️
@@EatmyStardust how are they now?
Which are best skates for artistic indoor quad skating?..
I mean feather likea) wheels which are best ...
b)plate
C)boots material ( i guess heels would be better, what you say)
C) with stopper
Thanks
your video is one of the most usefull videos about low cost skates I have aver seen
Thank you so so much for being so thorough!!
Right now at end of Feb '24, Sure-Grip has some of their Oasis and Boardwalks at $99, so they just squeak in under the $100 requirement.
Papaison and Roller Derby Reewind FOR THE WIN!
Would you do a video comparing more expensive skates to these?
sure! What price range would you want me to stay in?
Do thiss pleaseeeeeee
@DasiaDoesIt $120-$200
I got the c7 skates and I love them but I agree on the vinyl cracking easily. I went indoor skating and I fell and my skate barely skid the floor and it took off the vinyl. So I you worry about aesthetic be a bit careful. But overall good skates. 18:34 18:34
Super helpful review, thank you! I'm looking for my 4 year old daughter's first skates - anything else I should look for in little kids' skates? Thanks!
When I was a beginner I got impala rollerskates I’m so glad that I got them because my new pair was very thin and bad.😅
What’s your new pair?
I’m not too sure my parents got them for me for Christmas and they are from Amazon I thinl
I think id be able to change out the wheels so thats not too big of an issue either, but still not sure which one to get
I like hearing you talk, you are overflowing with intelligence.
Oh your learning curve is going to be so much shorter! How long have you been skate boarding?
So helpful, thank you! hopefully buying my first pair of skates before the weekend. :)
Welcome to the club boo.🤩✨
Only one of these even came in my size (11, cuz half sizes arent available) so I guess the choice has been made for me 😅 Thanks for the video, it can be tough being a bigfoot out here ❤
Just ordered the papaison skates. Used the 7 day free feature on amazon so ill probably come back and check in when it arrives!
Welcome to the club friend!
Thank you for the skate tips! What lipstick are you wearing? I see it in a lot of the videos and I just love the shade.
That elite one did come up to my size so I’m glad that you like that one and that’s the one that I put in my cart just to let you know❤
I’m 44 and just started. Any lady’s or men in here my age or older???
What was that squeaking coming from the Papas? Was it the boot; the wheels; your floor; or the microphone?
I'm looking into skating and I don't want to feel my teeth raddle/be forced to constantly listen to music
Also this video was really helpful, thank you 😁
Ordered the freestyle elite using your link…fingers crossed they work out…my riedell are painful AF and heavy…lolThanks for this video.
You're so very welcome! Thank you for being here!
Thank you for sharing this video. Btw, what brand do you actually wear?
thank you so much, i’m excited to get started and fall a lot LOL
If so, what is the verdict on them?
thank you im not a beginner but these will help me a lot to start over again
Your video save me money 💰
I ended up getting the C-7 Dark Magic skates🎉
ILYSM, THANKS THANKS THANKS, THE PAPAISON ARE SO GOOD
Hi there! Did you get them in the shoe size you normally wear?
Oh and I love you HUGE FAN IN HOUSTON, TEXAS!!!❤❤❤❤
thanks for that tidbit about rainbow riders. i bought them as my first skates because they came super recommended for beginners and are okay for outdoors but i felt like i didnt like the wheels very much but didnt really know if that was just me not knowing shit or what so im going to get some different wheels now lmao
Thank you so much for posting this!
Would you recommend the papaisons for someone with a thin foot? Does wearing skates more aimed toward wide feet affect the fit/performance/safety? Thanks so much, and thanks for the informative video!
Thank you so much! I'm a beginner skater and im looking into buying the Papaison skates. Just wanted to know if they came with a skate tool?
Can you please tell me what skates you currently use and what size you ordered them in? I have the same type of feet as you and I take the same size. I'd like a comfortable pair that aren't beginner skates. Thanks for making this video.
Thank you so much I got papaisons and they feel great
Thanks for this! Gonna get my daughter the Papaisons!
My skates were from Sports Direct (uk), the No Fear figure roller skates and I literally got them for £25 half price from £50 and theyre quite comfortable
