my roommate this year is from Vietnam, and i LOVE learning about her culture and what it’s like growing up in a different country! No one should ever be ashamed of growing up in a different culture, it’s what makes us unique!
i swear, celebrating new year w family right after you celebrated christmas w your family, aunts, uncles and cousins feels so great and refreshing. Its like a total reset and the tiredness you feel right after all of those chaos feels amazing. This is what i love about asian culture, especially our family tradition that my parents taught me.
I have a Muslim friend from high school that came with me to Chinese New Year celebration dinner one year because his family was away and he absolutely loved the traditions. I think he still celebrates it to this day.

Yes, the situation of a foster child being sent to home after home is tragic, but there are more important factors that make it so, such as the child not having a stable environment to grow and develop as a person. None of the other kids in my school liked the Bills, and it would result in me kinda being teased for it. I think it's part of the reason I never developed any interest in sports. Don't see why I was obligated to like that team just because it was the one my mom grew up liking.
