I too have enjoyed that very wing and am eager to have one as my own. I am also interested in the PK risers but have yet seen them firsthand or even talked to anyone with firsthand experience. If you do get a ViperXC I would recommend a follow up to this video showing the PK risers, how they are different, and why someone might prefer them. Great post. By the way, I'm next door in NC and eager to fly those Smoky Mtn's!
My buddy, Caleb, and I flew the PK version of that demo wing. I hooked up my speedbar and tried it out. For me, I love it. It's a quick way to go max speed and catch up with your buddies, or dump speed and do a barrel roll, or other playful things. I use it all the time on my Freeride 2 now. For Caleb, he would prefer the higher trimmed out top speed of the non-PK risers. He's more of a pure XC guy and doesn't play as much as me. So, if you want to do long distances trimmed out, you might prefer the non PK version. But, if you want to fly it like a Freeride, you might prefer the PK version. The fully-accelerated top speed is the same on both, but the trimmed out speed (no speedbar) is not.
Really great review man, absolutely loved it! And the video was really well shot, and edited, very beautiful footage! Can’t wait to come out to Tennessee!
Nice review Adam, what kind of sink rate does the XC have fully trimmed in? What's the typical glide ratio? I'm looking for a more efficient wing not concerned about doing any wingovers or acro, just more airtime for the SP140.
Most of my flying was done trimmed in, the sink rate was pretty amazing for a 20-meter wing. Very impressed overall. I would think it would do well with the sp140
Hi I am a new paramotor pilot and I’m looking to get a viper xc I weigh 50kg and the paramotor I will get weighs 20kg and I was looking to get the 22m one can I get your thoughts on is it to overkill for my weight
Yeah that might be a bit large for your overall weight. I'm at 127kg all up and the 20m was a good fit and feel. I'd look at 20 at the minimum for your weight. Too big and you'll lose some of the fun the wing provides.
hi iam an experienced paramotor pilot. even thou this viper xc is a cross-country wing... what type of wing are you looking for? I fly ozone wings and have had other type of wings. how about a Warp 2? Can you do any type of acro? hi, I live in the UK. and even trying to demo any wing is a NIGHTMARE. so how easy is it to demo a wing? from aviator. i would like to hear about it.
Hey buddy, thanks for the questions. Aviator charges $60 plus shipping to demo. Prob about $100 dollars for a week demo. Not sure about shipping outside U.S. It is nice to test a wing though. I'm not sure what I'm looking for... my Dudek Driftair is my fun wing as that can handle all the things I ask of it. My ozone wings are great though... like I said if I didn't have the Sirocco 3 already, I'd get this Viper XC. Not sure I'd need a Warp or Freeride 2 even... those are spicy wings but the Drift is spice enough for me (as of now :)
Oh I could tell it's got way more potential - that's what made me nervous ;) I'm not comfortable enough to jump on a new glider and push it to hard. My driftair, yeah I'll flip that thing all over. But this felt different so I respect the wing enough to not push it too far during demo.
I love the feel of ozone wings and how deep into the brakes you can get on landing
nice, on a Speedsteer 3 now love this wing. that Viper xc will be the next one for sure.
Yes, I've got the Sirocco 3 and it's a great wing as well. Viper XC prob a nice upgrade
Awesome. Sounds like a great wing. Love that scenery. Wow.
I think you would really enjoy it, especially the roll stability.

20 M wing whats your weight ? Thanks
So your the guy who has the 20m viper xc I tried to get to demo lol. Aviator told me July sometime before they can get me 1 to demo.
I guess so... she's all yours now ;)
Love it! Im sold. Ordering a custom 18m in the next month or so.
I’d probably try to do full wing overs before stepping up to a hotter glider that thing has more potential than you are giving it

Hah hah! I did my first ever good & legit barrel roll on that very demo wing. 🙂🙃🙂
