Also pause at 11:40. I love how Ken and Ryo are just having a nice meal. I can picture the conversation. Ken: did you hear something? Ryu: Ahh I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. So how's the wife and kid? Ken: Great, Thanks for asking. So how did the last fight go? Ryo: I mopped the floor with him in 30 seconds. Ken I would have done it is 25. Ryo: Yeah, like hell you would have. *Both start laughing
I think it would have gone : Ken: I could do it in 25. Ryu: You probably could. There are many far better than I, and I will always need to test my limits. I would, However, like to see ya try *subtle smirk * Edit: *both start laughing escalatingly. *
Monokuma is probably my favorite villain in gaming. I love villains that can make you laugh your ass off one minute, and make you recoil at how fucked up they are the next minute
another thing about rufus is that there is a big positive about him: apparently he treats his wife very well, i mean she must have seen SOMETHING in him
The Fire Emblem segment was hilarious with the FEH segway, and learning more about Oliver was cool. The start of the Tales character section was a really interactive moment for me though. GS: Have you played FE:Echoes yet? Me: Yes! GS: Do you remember Faye? Me: Yes. GS: Do you remember how she had a HUGE crush on Alm? Me: Yes... GS: And how it was her only defining character trait? Me: ......Yes... GS: That's Cheria for you. Me: ****.
@@theskullboy8700 Why is it that everyone hates Faye. I mean in my copy of Echoes, Faye is one of my best mages, essentially better than Delthea and bargain basement Sheldon Cooper. Luthier: I'm not autistic. My mother had me tested. Whatever.
12:34 "If I had ill-defined karate powers, I'd be screaming like an anime character too." For a sample of the above statement, watch Oscar's playthrough of Muramasa: The Demon Blade :P
The best part about Monokuma? I can't hate him at all. He's my favorite character in Daganronpa. All just because of how sadistic his actions are. Just because he's the chestmaster. Just like how Zero is in Zero Escape.
And he's God-damned kawaii Two-Face, which makes his sadism even more effective. And he's played by Doraemon. (Though the dub VA's good, too.) Too bad that he had to have TARAKO as his VA in V3; she sucked as him.
Except Zero has a very good reason for what they're doing. At least in the first two games. I haven't played the third game yet Edit: I have since played the third game and while Zero's plan in that game was pretty drastic to put it lightly, their plan came from good intentions
Honestly, Larry Butz's best point for me was in 1-4. He was great in that case. Then every time he shows up after that, he's shown disdain and made fun of. (or whipped) Poor guy. Glad they brought him back more recently. (Even if Datz is kinda just a better Larry)
Thing is, though, The Butz™ wasn't a TOTAL doofus in AA1, but, rather, mostly unlucky. He only had gotten REALLY idiotic afterward, putting what few brain cells that he'd had left toward slacking.
One character I hate to love is Glass Joe from Punch Out. I despise weakness, and he's so pathetic. He's a living, breathing tutorial who only exists to get his baguette punched in for the hundredth time. Yet, he's pretty damn endearing, because I get the feeling he's perfectly happy with where he is. He could quit at any time but he keeps stepping into the ring because that's just what he does. I also get the feeling he has a lot of fans who just like seeing him try. That too is adorable.
I have to say that Patreon Month has been my favorite group of videos I've ever seen on TH-cam. This video was spectacular, Top 10 Dragons is still one of my favorites, and at the end of Top 10 Berserkers I legitimately cried. I can tell that you put a lot of care and passion into your videos and I love every single one of them. Thank you, The Green Scorpion, and please keep making videos.
Gianni honestly I Thought he was gonna pick Kokichi or Komaeda but I understand how he feels I mean personally I see Monokuma and the Mastermind as two completely different characters, especially as the mastermind becomes less and less relevant in the sequels.
Gogo Yugirl Kokichi I understand being on the list he was a piece of shit but I liked him I probably would've considered him but not Komaeda I found him so obnoxious and annoying I didn't like him at all. And while you're right that Monokuma and the Mastermind have less to do with each other in the later games the first game there identities are so intertwined so specifically talking the first game and maybe the second I would consider them the same.
The one detail about Alphys that I'm actually surprised many people miss is the part of why she set up the Hotland scenario. She didn't want the Human to leave because in order to do so, the protagonist has to kill the beloved King of the Monsters since well...Barrier. She obviously didn't want you to do that so she tries to make herself look like a hero to try and convince you to stay away from Asgore and the Barrier. I still get what you mean in the video. Though, funny enough, I actually never found interruptions all that annoying. Maybe it's just patience. Who knows, I might have a Light Blue Soul.
Funny thing about Rufus. He actually DID train! He initially watched kung-fu movies before traveling the world and learned martial arts from various masters to see what was real and what wasn't. Despite being incredibly overweight, he's very skilled. So much so that many characters comment that he could be better if he managed to lose a few pounds. And with Undertale, I won't deny it's a special game. But I found the game to be kinda... eh. I played the game myself and while I enjoyed it, I found it to be pretty good, but not amazing. But no problems towards people who love the game to death and back.
@@Doublemonk0506 I did not because the game heavily discourages repeated playthroughs and I know going Genocide would basically ruin all future playthroughs unless I go into the games files. Technically speaking, I did both Neutral and Pacifist in the same run, but was counted as Neutral until beating Nightmare Flowey and restarting at the end. As for others, they were released well after Undertale. I played the game relatively early in its popularity, about a few months after it released. Pony Island came out the following year with DDLC following the year after that.
@@SaiyanGamer95, to be fair, there are some aspects of Undertale that do suck (Genocide is a slog). I think the reason why people loved Undertale is because it was one of the first mindshock games that most people played (barring whatever Hideo Kojima cooks up) and because of how the characters evolve in the different playthroughs (ex: Undyne going from a somewhat goofy character in Pacifist, then a somewhat forgettable character in Neutral, to something akin to an anime protagonist going into their final form with Undyne the Undying). These aspects did make the game good, despite flaws like the unintuitiveness of the Toriel Pacifist boss fight and Alphys's being kind of an ahole. But I do see how Undertale might not have stuck on some people, especially if this wasn't their first rodeo with mindshock games
@Doublemonk0506 My issue is mostly gameplay, the setting (by which I mean how monsters attack you, but they get weaker when a human is violet, as well as the fact they don't seem to want to leave, let alone really try to kill you outside of a few bosses), and I feel it focused more on being weird and quirky. Compared to Earthbound, it was weird, but also serious and has a compelling and relatable story and fun gameplay.
As I said in Top 10 Betrayals, never trust bears unless the bear's last name is Hugger. I need a hug now. Edit: By "bear" I meant Bear as their first name.
I agree with Joel because hoping that they get a vaccine (not cure, thats not possible because of the state they are in) is rash, they didn't even study her. I mean, what does neuroscience have to do with immunity? If it was about immunity, then you would research her blood for antibodies or something abnormal. And besides, if it were something to do with attatching a spore to your skull, or with genetics, then it really wouldn't be possible to replicate.
Cheria does have a bunch of depth though. Her compassion is her main trait. Its made very cleae through out the story. She inspires people around her. To the point where people call her a "guardian angel." While her feelings for Asbel are a big trait I personally find it to be integrated perfectly throughout the game.
I would post the argument that Joel was 100% in the right for what he did at the end of the first game. Not only because he loved Ellie, but also in terms of humanity and how human beings work. Do you know what a cure would've meant to the ones who had it? Now this group of assholes are gonna be the only group that has a cure and they could hold that over people and use it as a power play. When it comes to the human race there is a constant. Whenever we find something that could potentially help us, our next immediate order of business is to weaponize it. A cure in the post apocalyptic setting of The Last of Us would've been no different for those who had it. The Fireflies would've created a massive army completely immune that would lord over everyone with a force the likes the world had never seen. So yeah. Joel did potentially help the world and save Ellie's life at the same time.
One thing about number 1 SPOILERS I actually agree with Joel's move here. the only thing that would be made is a vaccine for the out break. it would do nothing for the hordes of zombies (for lack of a better term), the cannibals/ roving biker gangs or the government and Their actions. also remember that the firefly are considered a terrorist sect so getting the vaccine out would be hard. add on to the fact that there are dozens of ways to preform brain surgery without killing the patient. then there is the fact that we have no idea it would work as it was never tested and a number of things can go wrong. this is why the ending of the last of us. there is soooo many layers that you can look at and get a completely different understanding.
I'm on this boat in regards to Joel (Haywood). In addition, I don't seem to recall the state of the rest of the world in this game's universe, so I don't believe he "doomed the world" as so many would be so quick to claim. For all we know, some Nogla's growing anti-fungal potatoes in Ireland, or there are psychic powers being discovered in Japan. The world isn't just one country.
And then there’s the recording by the Firefly scientists, saying that all past attempts at making a vaccine have failed. I’m no neuroscientist, but if Elle (that’s how it’s spelled, right?) is the last one who’s known to be immune, you’d think the Fireflies would try to find how her immunity works in a way that’s a little less deadly.
I agree. Humanity was already doom. Most of the human population has either been infected, killed or lost their sanity. and the fireflies, especially Marlene, should've given Ellie the choice. But all they care about is the cure that doesn't even matter anymore. what are the chances something went wrong and they lose both Ells and the cure? and how are they supposed to handle with all the other things that the apocalypse caused such as destroyed locations, spores, cannibals? a cure wouldn't solve that. So in other words, fireflies had it coming.
It was basically the ultimate trolley dilemma: sacrifice the one most dear to you to _maybe_ save many others, or definitely keep them so you can be sure to have _someone_ that you can trust for the almost certain doom of everyone else.
Oscar, I was wondering are you going to do a countdown on Danganronpa? Like your favorite characters, Least Favorite characters, Favorite executions, Favorite cases stuff like that because I actually want to know who your least favorite characters are?
@boy with no arms it dosent stay fresh for long just moving yourself around to avoid attacks i can do that in any touhou game and attacking is just get the timing right anyone can do that
This was a great list. Some of mine are: - Yuffie from Final Fantasy VII. You have to go through some real irritation to actually FIND her as a party member, you pretty much would need a guide or know what to say to get her in the party, and your reward for doing that is a self-obsessed, greedy kinda bratty girl detached from the actual plot who complains and bitches about everything like someone constantly asking "Are we there yet?" during a long trip while getting car sick and puking all over the back of your station wagon. And of course, there's this whole forced stretch of the game where she steals your materia and you have to go on this annoying, overly long plot cul-de-sac where you have to get it all back JUST for bringing her along in the first place. BUT I love the scrappy little cutie. She does nothing but bring annoyance, irritation and complicates the adventure at certain parts in annoying ways, but her cheerful smile, her positive attitude, her quirky spirit and her youthful exuberance of being "The Great Ninja Yuffie" kinda makes her endearing to me, one of my favorite characters and makes all the pain she brings worth it. - Mallow from Super Mario RPG. Not as much to say here as I had about Yuffie, but the main thing with Mallow is... he sucks as an actual useful party member. Because he's U-S-E-L-E-S-S. Sure he has the most magic, but all his skills suck and are generally useless, and his fragile, sniveling crybaby personality can get on my nerves, but then when you actually find yourself in his cloud kingdom and depose the bumbling Dodo who is just a pawn in someone else's game, trying to take the place of the prince, who turns out to be Mallow and reunite him with his parents and help out his kingdom, I actually find this section of the game pretty fun and it adds dimension to Mallow and finally makes him feel like an equal member of the main cast, at least as far as plot goes, when he was the most out of place and useless character in the game. - Trunks from Dragonball Xenoverse 1 and 2. It's particularly the Xenoverse version of the character as this version of Trunks is just a very annoying, idiotic, borderline useless idiot and albatross around your neck who is a horribly written shadow of himself from the actual show. This version of trunks is SO poorly written and such an epic screw-up and complete and utter annoyance, that I honestly even use him as an example because he's arguably an entirely different character than the one from the real Dragonball Z series. This one is just because Trunks is one of my favorite DBZ characters so I have to love him by default, but this game series version of him is insufferable. - Jowy from Suikoden II. There are massive spoiler reasons as to why, that I can't go into in depth, but essentially to put it mildly, you and your best friend in Suikoden II, Jowy have.. let's say, a "difference of opinion" at one point, and you can only watch helplessly as he makes a lot of bad choices for what he feels are his own personal reasons. But the decisions he makes are very human ones, and ultimately he has to find his own way in life. The heart wants what it wants, and I do feel very sympathetic for him and everything he has to put up with, as I can respect his choices simply because he's doing what he strongly believes he feels is right, and I can't really fault him. Even though it's totally breaking the hart of some of the other characters I love in the game. Shine on you crazy diamonds, Jowy. You were caught in the crossfire of childhood and stardom, blown on the steel breeze. - Fasaad from Mother 3. He's essentially like a low-key, much less relevant Monokuma for Mother 3. You spend so much of this game hating this guy's guts and he's thoroughly contemptible, and extremely EXTREMELY irritating to run into, and oh yeah, there's also the fact that he's constantly torturing poor Salsa, and animal abuse makes him completely irredeemable, but yet I just find him such an engaging character anyway. It's clear i'm supposed to loathe this horrendous, disgusting asshole, but there's just something about him that makes me admire what a rotten asshole he is.
no idea. no idea. I would have saved Ellie without a second thought. Everything Joel does i completely agree with. Family is way to important to me. I'd rather watch the world burn then see someone of mine go through any kind of pain like that. there are several other factors but I completely sympathize with joel and have no idea why so many people would question or feel wrong about his decision.
Presto Puma I still despise Joel, he outright LIED to Ellie. Murdered innocent doctors, and singlehandedly destroyed Humanity’s chance for survival. Screw Joel. I agree with Joshscorcher
1. Likely civilians and innocent people. 2. They won't know unless they tried. 3. I honestly would be sad, but the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. If one person needs to perish so that a great many others may live, then so be it.
1 really? first introduction to them they endanger innocent people in a attack on the QZ and you have to kill soldiers doing their jobs. So i'm pretty sure it's their best intrests 2: they don't even know why shes immune. They flat out say as much in the audio logs. They have no resources or education in medical field. I think her life would be taken in vain. They can't even stop one man 3: SAD?! You would be sad?! you would sacrifice a child for a small chance at a vaccine? Even if it worked. How much could they even make? What if it mutates again and the renders the vaccine worthless. What if their vaccine just causes more infection with a new strand? These are the big things to think about. What happens next on a infection they don't understand. This is something I have thought long and hard about. Jole's a terrible person. I wont deny that. But i can't make myself hate him
Not gonna lie, I agree with quite a few of your choices, especially the #1 choice. Ohhh, the conflicted feels are real! I really enjoyed Patreon Month, and I'm looking forward to what's coming up next :)
I do have one small complaint. In Larry's segment, you say he never really comes through. In actuality, provided you can translate his train-wrecks of testimonies, he does nothing but come through for you. First game, you had a guilty verdict on Edgeworth and it quite literally could not get any worse. One could argue in a sense Von Karma got his come-uppance precisely because Larry intervened. Third game, his misinterpretation of the flying woman allows you to prove the way that the body could be transported from one side of the burning bridge to the other, and thus prove an accomplice was in fact involved. Even in investigations, his involvement in the Steel Samurai show proves the killer had knowledge of the show he shouldn't have had because he saw the storyboard. He's extremely flaky but if you can figure him out, he's usually just as (and in some cases even more helpful than) even Gumshoe. That said, Gumshoe is certainly FAR more consistent and easier in his assistance.
What's funny is that Shinobu is the only character other than Travis himself to be in every game to date. Not even Henry or Sylvia can boast that because of TSA. The new trailer revealed glimpses of her in NMH3 and she had the dlc in TSA.
A "hate to love" character for me is Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates. As a character, they're probably the worst the series has gotten. As a fighter, they're AWESOME! And for me, I can tolerate a bad/non-existant personality if you can perform on the battlefield.
Corrin is usually always a fun character to use in any game he/she appears in....it’s just I can’t really like a character that’s boring and also kind of dumb.
as much i dislike corrin personality wise, they do have their moments, mainly threatening to BUTCHER the vallites for endangering kana in paralogue 2. i never skip that cutscene for that very moment
With #1, I also think more about the choice that character made, when you look at the potential information that one can find in that chapter. For some, it remedies their actions.
It still makes them a murderer and a selfish lying prick, but not "the person who doomed the world to die." People are too quick to think that 1. The other party knows what they're doing, 2. They're telling you the truth and 3. Succeeding in the procedure would actually be of real help. How are they going to manufacture and distribute the product in large enough quantities with no infrastructure or proper society to speak of? Who would they give it? And what would they do about all the other hazards around that the product would not help with at all? For these reasons I agree with the character
@@houndofculann1793, and chances are that they either aren't going to create a cure or they're going to hoard that cure for themselves. In fact, isn't there some dialogue that talks about how the Fireflies have done the exact same thing on various other dead patients.
Lord Inquisitor Wightman The thing is though, it's only a dilemma if you don't realize that the Fireflies really didn't know what they were talking about. Their first plan after finding out about someone being immune wasn't to keep her alive at all costs while trying to do tons of biopsies and maybe culture her cells or have her eggs fertilized and implanted on hosts to create a population of potentially immune children. Nope, it was straight up cutting her up, killing the only known immune person in the process. The Fireflies are a bunch of quacks is what I'm saying and anyone with a medical, nursing or allied background would notice their quackery from a mile away.
1. In Path of Radiance, Oliver does not yet has his unique boss theme. 2. Oliver does not have an exclusive class, since Laura and Rhys can reach that same class.
For me, Brain Drain from Skullgirls is a Hate To Love Character. He does some absolutely horrible things-including turning best girl Painwheel into what she is now-and, in the ending of Robo Fortune’s (probably non-canon) story, he creates a robot apocalypse. But damn if he isn’t cool. And, also in Robo Fortune’s story, he’s actually pretty damn funny when he’s not being played seriously. *ADDENDUM (6/29/2023):* After reading this back, I'm starting to think he's more of a Love to Hate character.
22:50 - 22:53 I’m just gonna take a moment to laugh at this because Sophie is the obvious better healer considering how she heals more and how I can still get healed while I’m avoiding enemy attacks (with the exception of pixie circle and nurse). Sure, it’s only one at a time aside from invigoration, but she heals faster, heals more, and is concentrated healing in a game where you need to sidestep all the time. The only thing Cheria’s got on Sophie as a healer is the better revival arte, Nurse, and status curing artes. I’m not saying she’s bad, hell she’s a good character for dealing with nova and while not as good as Malik, is probably the second best mage in the game. It’s just Sophie is better as a healer.
Pause at 23:56... But MIU! Her character was literally made so people should hate her! But everyone loved her instead! Plus, she literally GUESSES the correct culprits of every case, before.. well.. she meets her fate. But her place in the Fandom naturally should probably get her a spot on this list I feel. (Also I know this is 4 years old at this point, but im a lil salty)
All right, everybody has their bit to say on the ending of the last of us. Here's mine. Dissecting Elle would never have produced a cure. It's as simple a fact as that. She's your one immune sample, any doctor worth their license would do everything to keep her ALIVE. I look at the ending, at the sheer malpractice of throwing the Hippocratic oath out the window for a procedure that won't let them learn anything, and I'm baffled at why anyone would think Joel could possibly be in the wrong.
Okay, I have to put my two cents in on this matter... 10. Everyone hates Shinobu. And we can hope that the in-between game is good. Though I have to say, and I'm not alone on this, I had no idea Bad Girl had a dad, and he's Travis's partjner in the new game. 9. We can at least hope Demyx will be a guardian of light. 8. I can only think of one time Larry was helpful. In the trial where Manfred Von Karma was the prosecutor, Larry actually messed up Von Karma's plan by revealing there was a shooting before the time of death. This actually bought Phoenix more time to investigate. 7. This must be a throwback to Quarter Guy's most hated characters list. Won't blame you. 6. Oh boy, Never played Undertale, do not know what to say. 5. A fat character voiced by Myotismon. I'm embarrassed to say I do have him in my roster. 4. You said Laura Bailey was one of your favorite Voice Actors in games, what are you picking on a character she voiced? Not to mention my favorite part in Graces was when she opened the floodgate that is her tearducts. You know the scene I'm talking about. 3. Monokuma? ooookay.... 2. Never played Bordelands, but moving on. 1. Oh boy... So what's next? Top ten Females or Top Ten Pokemon Battles?
Just because one of your favorite VAs voice a character, it doesn't mean you're contractually obligated to like them. For example, Matthew Mercer voices Lao from Xenoblade Chronicles X, but I wouldn't say I particularly like Lao.
He just said Laura Bailey was ONE of his favorite VAs, and even then, I'm sure he wouldn't try to say she aces ALL of her roles. Laura Bailey's voice isn't that high, and trying to do a high voice like that doesn't really work in regards to her, I don't think.
RevolvingWorld Good voice actors can have bad roles if not given the proper direction. Do I need to point you over to Rob Paulson voicing Bubsy or Coconut Fred (two characters that he openly hated playing)?
I think you're allowed to hate a character, or character's voice, that's voiced by someone you like. For example, I love Matt Mercer's voice acting, but he also did Haiji Towa from Ultra Despair Girls. I can't say I know many of her roles but while I like Chie from Persona 4, Erin Fitzgerald's rendition is quite grating, especially at first. Patrick Seitz is really good too, then there's Endeavor and Garrosh Hellscream.
Great list!! And I know you have the appreciation of many for trying to keep your list spoiler free but please do some more lists where you go into spoilers b/c I love it when you go in-depth w/ your lists.
About Joel, I can understand his decision on taking Ellie and killing the fireflies as I had lost my son 14 years ago. Losing one's child is a pain and sorrow hits with such force, pain, and sorrow that most people don't recover for years.... and that's if they recover. I would never wish that pain for anyone even my most hated enemies.
@@BJGvideos I'm doing well all things considered. Still miss my son, but I have his lil brother and sister ( twins btw, caught me totally by surprise) and they give me a lot of love that really helps with the pain
For me, one hate-to-love character for was Mimi from SPM: She’s a bitch and the whole broken-neck transformation made me really uncomfortable. But honestly, she’s annoying in a way that, I admire it. I can’t explain why, maybe her design..
Looking back.... there are 2 characters that I have mixed feelings for: Cortana & Tira Cortana- from nostalgia, I loved Cortana all throughout the Halo franchise. She was 4-dimensional and very complex of an A.I. But Halo 5 came out, and I found some hate in her. She was our ally all throughout the games, but she turned mental and became crazy! However, as I progressed, I felt sad when I defeated her. Cortana was awesome, and she was an amazing character, then she became a psychotic sadist and then became a pretty decent villain in the series. I'm conflicted but I still hated her at one point, but absolutely adored Cortana, and I'll continue to adore her for as long as she's around. Tira- when I first got exposed to her, I thought: "this girl is psycho". Yes, she was a minion to Nightmare, and she's a freaking Harley Quinn archetype. The girl is a sadist with an affection towards crows and pain, yet I freaking love her! Her split personality mechanic in Soulcalibur IV was a fresh new way of playing the game, and her unintentional humor caught me off guard! Also, I really like her design and weapon of choice. I found some real short-lived hate for her, but after a while, I grew to find her very unique and an awesome antagonist! I wasn't expecting to like a sadistic assassin like Tira, but I do.
From video games, I can at least say that I hate to love these characters: Heihachi Mishima: he's a terrible son, dad, granddad and overall person who only cares about power. But the reasons why I like him are his gameplay and how over the top some of his endings are about disposing his own family. Plus, he's pretty badass for an old man WITHOUT any need for Devil Gene like his son and grandson. Tekken 7 tryied too hard to justify Heihachi's actions before he died. Cyrille Le Paradox: He sucks as a villain and as a final boss. But the reasons why I like him are Nolan North's performance, the fact he's a skunk and to defend his terrible villainy and boss fight, I think that was Sanzaru's plan all along to make Le Paradox a rotten pale imitation of Sly Cooper in similar way Wario is to Mario. Captain Qwark: he's mostly useless character for the series after Up Your Arsenal. He caused more trouble than he's been helpful for Ratchet & Clank and his bad decisions lead to the births of Dr. Nefarious' and Stuart Zurgo's villain careers. But I can't imagine the series without him. And let's be honest, Qwark has some of the funniest moments in the series. Sparx(The Legend of Spyro): He only serves as the comic relief of the trilogy, even more so than Daxter in Jak & Daxter series. This version of Sparx is easily the weakest of the 3 different iterations when it comes to combat. But what really bugs me about him(pun intended), is how much of a dick he's at Cynder, constantly blaming her for her actions under Malefor's corruption. Besides the comic relief part, I like all of the performances from David Spade, Billy West and Wayne Brady gave when they voiced Sparx. Abigail: This bigass tank of a Canadian behaves and makes sounds like a car and gets upset if he doesn't know where his car is. So why the hell do I like a character as dumb as this one? Because of the gameplay, that's why. He's very different from most other brutes in Street Fighter series: he's not a grappler, just beating the crap outta everyone with fingers as big as the opponent's head. But seriously, not even Big the Cat has this stew-pid personality. At least Abigail wasn't that stew-pid when he appeared in Cody's story mode. From other media: Cinder Fall Team Rocket(anime) Bart Simpson Glenn Quagmire Cameron Campbell Ragyo Kiryuin
@@BJGvideos I'm going to guess it's a language other than English. Because in English dubs, Rufus is voiced by Chris Corey Smith, whereas Beelzemon is Derek Stephen Prince.
Just found this (via a recommendation from a comment in a video of joshscorcher), and I'm a bit disappointed you didn't mention one of the most absurd things about Demyx. What's the best way to beat his water clones? With fire magic. No, I'm not joking. You beat WATER with FIRE. Even on his replica version on critical mode. That's one of the most logic-defying moments I could remember in any game. P. S. I personally find him to be cool, but I see why some people hate him.
Shinobu actually does turn up in NMH3 as a member of the Touchdown crew and actually stays at the motel that Travis lives in, which has honestly just become the Touchdown crew's compound.
The title character from Legacy of Kain can fit this category. In his youth he's selfish and arrogant and only cares about ridding himself of Vamperisim, but insightfull and charismatic when he's older and accepted his "Dark Gift". If not for the antagonist's being much worse threats he'd be the villain, but his desire to overturn the fate that's been manipulated onto Nosgoth by them. Even if it is for self surviving reasons. Puts him in the Anti-Hero slot with the more well meaning if equally self-righteous Raziel, who we see first hand suffered greatly in Kain's gamble against artificial destiny.
...... I do kind of like Cheria. But it’s less on how she is a compelling character and that I just like the tropes she represents. I was at a very weird time when I was young and seeing love being optimistic was something I did enjoy. Being older I am now pretty damn jaded by the term and my ideals on love had change, but I do still like these characters nonetheless. And hell this isn’t the the first character in the tales series that I felt like this. And I think that’s mostly because of the first game I was exposed to was Symphonia Dawn of the New world and liked Martha in it. And how the 2 are pretty damn similar. I dunno if these are just justifications on liking shitty characters or some sort of psychological reactions at play but that’s all I got for that entry. The others are head scratchers but could understand why.
Does Jirard realize that some jokes NEVER die? Try as he might to get rid of it (particularly in light of a falling out a while back), it's not going anywhere!
It’s fun to think of villains when you love them: examples for me include the likes of Dio Brando of Jojo bizarre but in terms of games I would have to say Harkon from Skyrim (off the top of my head)
I agree on Dio. Even at the age of 12, he was a calculating sociopath and in the first episode of 2012 anime ALONE he was able to do so much to make Jonathan's life miserable, even putting an innocent maiden Erina in uncomfortable misery on his plan to become the heir of Joestar fortune. And before that he poisoned his own disgusting dad Dario to death and that fucker didn't even realize it. I also love Patrick Seitz's performance as Dio's English voice. As for video games, I think the best example for me has to be Heihachi Mishima.
I personally like the dub more than just for Seitz's performance. Johnny Yong Bosch, Keith Silverstein and Ben Diskin gives so tongue-in-cheek phony English accents for Jonathan, Speedwagon and Joseph respectively it's perfect for franchise like JJBA. Plus, Rita Repulsa as Enyaba the Hag, that performance is also pretty over the top.
nifinland I’m glad to know that I’m not alone in liking anime dubs, I actually only watch anime in dub, not cause of some kind of superiority but because I’d rather watch than read an anime. And yeah inyaba is great

Monokuma is probably my favorite villain in gaming. I love villains that can make you laugh your ass off one minute, and make you recoil at how fucked up they are the next minute
another thing about rufus is that there is a big positive about him: apparently he treats his wife very well, i mean she must have seen SOMETHING in him
Rufus has a wife? A real one?
Candy isn't Rufus' wife, but they're both so head-over-heels for each other that they may as well be a couple.

Same! I would done the same.
I haven't played the third game yet
Edit: I have since played the third game and while Zero's plan in that game was pretty drastic to put it lightly, their plan came from good intentions

Btw, Oscar, how about doing a review on all Danganronpa games, please. There you can say everything you want.
He's not going to. He REFUSES to spoil Danganronpa.
FINALLY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS MY FEELINGS TOWARDS MONOKUMA!!!
Gogo Yugirl he and the mastermind of danganronpa 1 were the first ones I thought of when I saw what the list was about
Gianni honestly I Thought he was gonna pick Kokichi or Komaeda but I understand how he feels I mean personally I see Monokuma and the Mastermind as two completely different characters, especially as the mastermind becomes less and less relevant in the sequels.
I f**king hate that bear.
Gogo Yugirl fucking monokuma. Always gets me laughing even when I'm telling him to fuck off. Constantly.
On Undertale, did you play the other routes? Also, did you play any other 4th wall/mindshock gamss before hand (DDLC, Pony Island, etc.)

Pretty much hit the bull’s eye with Cheria :P
I agree with Joel because hoping that they get a vaccine (not cure, thats not possible because of the state they are in) is rash, they didn't even study her. I mean, what does neuroscience have to do with immunity? If it was about immunity, then you would research her blood for antibodies or something abnormal.
And besides, if it were something to do with attatching a spore to your skull, or with genetics, then it really wouldn't be possible to replicate.
26:18
And Oscar finally learns what number 3 is really all about.
0:16 Uh...Oscar, I think Deadpool's only hate-to-love in his comics, we people in the real world just love him.
Cheria does have a bunch of depth though. Her compassion is her main trait. Its made very cleae through out the story. She inspires people around her. To the point where people call her a "guardian angel." While her feelings for Asbel are a big trait I personally find it to be integrated perfectly throughout the game.
24:10 I originally thought the mastermind was killed in the first game, but I remembered that the A.I. of the Mastermind was used in the first sequel.
Such a crazy trip in this month, and I loved every second.
an interesting topic. i have my popcorn ready
Joel doesn't have to kill all of the doctors when he saves Ellie, just the one that tries to stop him, the rest are up to player choice.
One thing about number 1
SPOILERS
I actually agree with Joel's move here. the only thing that would be made is a vaccine for the out break. it would do nothing for the hordes of zombies (for lack of a better term), the cannibals/ roving biker gangs or the government and Their actions. also remember that the firefly are considered a terrorist sect so getting the vaccine out would be hard. add on to the fact that there are dozens of ways to preform brain surgery without killing the patient. then there is the fact that we have no idea it would work as it was never tested and a number of things can go wrong.
this is why the ending of the last of us. there is soooo many layers that you can look at and get a completely different understanding.
And then there's the fact that immunity and neuroscience have nothing to do with one another.
I still love Undertale!
Its fandom is cancer and the gameplay is bland
@boy with no arms it dosent stay fresh for long just moving yourself around to avoid attacks i can do that in any touhou game and attacking is just get the timing right anyone can do that
This was a great list. Some of mine are:
- Yuffie from Final Fantasy VII.
Well, seems like Tales of Graces f Remastered got announced, and it made me want to rewatch this video. How are ya feeling about it getting announced?
Okay and on Joel. I have 3 questions.
1: Who would the Fireflys share the vaccine with?
2: Would it even work?
3: What would you do?
no idea.
You didn't answer my questions
So i'm pretty sure it's their best intrests
2: they don't even know why shes immune. They flat out say as much in the audio logs. They have no resources or education in medical field. I think her life would be taken in vain. They can't even stop one man
3: SAD?! But i can't make myself hate him
Somehow I knew Monokuma would be on here.
i argeed
Not gonna lie, I agree with quite a few of your choices, especially the #1 choice. Ohhh, the conflicted feels are real!
I really enjoyed Patreon Month, and I'm looking forward to what's coming up next :)
@The Green Scorpion
“This bear”? Don’t be mad man that’s hilarious
Once I found Demyx hard, but that was because, like everyone, I was fighting against him recklessly.

A "hate to love" character for me is Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates. As a character, they're probably the worst the series has gotten. As a fighter, they're AWESOME! And for me, I can tolerate a bad/non-existant personality if you can perform on the battlefield.
I just don't really like corrin, but I have to use the son of a gun
Corrin is usually always a fun character to use in any game he/she appears in....it’s just I can’t really like a character that’s boring and also kind of dumb.
did the character even have one
as much i dislike corrin personality wise, they do have their moments, mainly threatening to BUTCHER the vallites for endangering kana in paralogue 2. i never skip that cutscene for that very moment
Your opinion, I get it
But FUCK Corrin
I’m guilty of loving Demyx as well.
I love the handsome jacks on the list his so goddamn hilarious
I see you play FEH too. ^^ I overall got 92 5-stars with Easter Kagero being the latest unit which I got her on the very holiday itself.
In the last of us siduation: most people assume that they would do the right thing but when it comes down to it, most people will act selfishly
Mori Adine people do desperate and stupid things in situations
Not to mention she wasn't the only one that had an immunity. The logs tell you that they had several other people for testing too, all died
*hears the word wine in association with Monokuma*
.........last i checked he is an avid fan of Martini
Yuuki Terumi
That is all.
He is Handsome Jack
and Monakuma.
I hate both monokuma and handsome jack
1. In Path of Radiance, Oliver does not yet has his unique boss theme.
2. Oliver does not have an exclusive class, since Laura and Rhys can reach that same class.
I love Monokuma and honestly what he says about Makoto and Kyoko was supposedly so graphic that the line was removed (intentional joke)
The Calypso twins will never be what Handsome Jack is.
@@d3-ll754
Yeah but he called her voice annoying, how does your supposed favorite voice actor have an annoying voice?
*snort* I’m the Alphys of every friendship group I’m in. I will need attention and to feel useful so badly that sometimes I will do stupid things XD
Great list!!
And I know you have the appreciation of many for trying to keep your list spoiler free but
please do some more lists where you go into spoilers b/c I love it when you go in-depth w/ your lists.
I think the reason Demyx's dance water, dance move implies that he makes multiple clones of himself that all have the same skill while he vanishes.
"I don't respect you as far as I can throw you"
At best, Anikin can force throw Rufus as far as two inches
Why did you put Risky Boots in the thumbnail when you didn't even mention her.
Only because of boobs
He usually likes to put honorable mentions in the thumbnail and intro because he doesn’t want to spoil any of the entries.
Clickbait
Dammit, Oscar. I'm supposed to be in bed.
You posted this over a year ago but I gotta ask how you're doing.
@@BJGvideos I'm doing well all things considered. Still miss my son, but I have his lil brother and sister ( twins btw, caught me totally by surprise) and they give me a lot of love that really helps with the pain
@@BJGvideos thanks for asking btw, its good to know that someone cares
@@dariusdurandal7501 Sure thing.
I supported Oliver and Olivia together in heroes
For me, one hate-to-love character for was Mimi from SPM: She’s a bitch and the whole broken-neck transformation made me really uncomfortable. But honestly, she’s annoying in a way that, I admire it. I can’t explain why, maybe her design..
Looking back.... there are 2 characters that I have mixed feelings for: Cortana & Tira
Cortana- from nostalgia, I loved Cortana all throughout the Halo franchise.
20:34 why do i blazingknight screaming and pumping a shotgun?
I'm quite glad for the explanation for number 1. It's the same complicated feelings that I had.
Brilliant job on explaining your views.

Joel actually does not kill all doctors in the end, the player however can choose to do so, the game only makes you kill one of then.
Can you really blame Joell?
Yes green scorpion. Yes I can
If you hate to hate Jasper, then does that mean you like him?
From video games, I can at least say that I hate to love these characters:
Heihachi Mishima: he's a terrible son, dad, granddad and overall person who only cares about power.
From other media:
Cinder Fall
Team Rocket(anime)
Bart Simpson
Glenn Quagmire
Cameron Campbell
Ragyo Kiryuin
3:10 Ironic that of all the characters he could have used for that clip, the one charavter he chose got ressurected.
I am a simple man. When I see new Green Scorpion upload, I clicks it.
Wait a minute....did he just say "DICKS" at 7:33 !? Oh I get it~ (another word for "detectives") *coughs* Gumshoe *coughs*
Agree to disagree on Rufus. I, unironically, love the guy. He legitimately makes me laugh.
Totally. Him having that gravely demon biker voice makes it even better (he's got the same voice as Beezelbumon from Digimon Tamers).
@@BJGvideos I'm going to guess it's a language other than English. Because in English dubs, Rufus is voiced by Chris Corey Smith, whereas Beelzemon is Derek Stephen Prince.
@@DTylerFultzVA Yeah I found that out later. He sounds EXACTLY like Derek Steven Prince though!
(Sees number 1)
Abby: Well time to grab my golf club.
24:43 - I believe John Wick would become a millionaire taking these marks out.
Admittedly, I'm just kinda indifferent to Undertale. I never really got into it, but I can definitely see why people like it.
Green Scorpion, when will you a Fire Emblem Month?!
I think it will have top 10 Worst and Favorite characters and maybe classes.
When I saw danganronpa I thought It was going to be Hagakure
why
Did I see Olizandri footage there in the Oliver segment?
There's nothing wrong with liking them. They're not terrible characters or anything. They're just annoying to some.
Yeah I feel what you mean. Characters like Cheria, Marta, and Faye really aren't for everyone
One of the characters I hate to love is Super Macho Man. He is such a dick and is so self absorbed but he does it in a way which is hilarious
26:21 i have the urge to make a completionist reference, but i wont.
BEEEEEEEAAAAAARRRRS!!!
As for video games, I think the best example for me has to be Heihachi Mishima.
nifinland the reason I watch dub
And yeah inyaba is great
nifinland as a Brit, I would say the accents are pretty good if you want to be stereotypical (which clearly it is) ps Joesph is my favorite joestar
The way number 9 ended was like facing a Shadow in Persona 4 Oscar you.........
"had to admit it"
5:29
Yeah... I beat him on my second try.
And I was playing on proud mode.
Whew... that took a while
I actually really like the instant kill all out attack from Caroline and Justine. The mechanic is really fun and the attack is so dam cool.
Oh this should be good. Thanks for the upload Oscar!
