I think the Succubuses in Catherine not only work with Lust, BUT also guilt as well Vincent despite his lack of commitment, he definitely feels guilty he still cheated on, and a lot of the questions that determine the ending help him to realize on what he stands on and finally get rid of that guilt that will lead to pick the ending. That would also explain why Johnny despite rejecting C posing as K still has nightmares, not only he's lusting after K, he also feels guilt cuz she's still Vincent's partner, a feeling he shouldn't have since the couple are discussing heavy topics like marriage and having a kid, and to a degree that would explain Erika as well, given she's aware of Toby's crush on her and her own and yet she's not full honest with him

Morrigan from Darkstalkers would be a good choice, a succubus definitely counts and people still appreciate her to this day. For more than one reason. Nightmare from Soul Calibur is another. He's basically the Knight from Hell in the Soul Calibur universe. Then we have those afflicted by the Devil Gene. Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima and Reina. Monster month 2 is upon us. And we're starting with demons which is interesting to talk about when it comes to video games. While there are plenty of bosses demon-like, there's just about many of them as playable characters and they are the more interested since it's pretty cool to use demon powers on your own against any foe. Looking forward to the start of monster month 2.
Honorable mention: The One Who Waits (Narinder) (Cult of the Lamb): Not exactly a devil but his deal with The Lamb and how he bestows destructive power on it with the red crown is pretty devilish in nature. Edit: Just thought of at least one more mention that came to mind. Gaunter O' Dimm, Witcher 3's Hearts of Stone DLC: A mysterious entity who makes a deal with Geralt of Rivia into compliance to make sure another unfortunate (yet very guilty) individual fulfills his own deal with him for his soul is some crafty demonic plotting. Can't really say i liked the race against time section at the end though if you go against Gaunter.
Refusing gigs that hurt real people and gigs from the poor aren't the only reasons Devil May Cry doesn't bring in much money. The third is that Dante, in canon, spends a large amount of it on supporting two people whose parent he accidentally got killed.

"Satan has a budding interest in game design" well yeah how else do you explain Ubisoft? A fun detail in Echoes of Wisdom is that the Gerudo queen has a trident as well, but the two tines on the outside are curved outward. Which oddly makes it a more effective weapon since you can swing it more aggressively that way. I remember prior to TotK, people theorized that Dehydrated Ganondorf may be trying to break out of the cycle and get rid of Demise once and for all. Which I still think would be an interesting storyline. We've seen Zelda struggle with Hylia's influence, after all. A lot of "I'll cast out all the evil/good in myself oops that backfired should have seen that coming" going on in video games. I think the character who did it with the *least* amount of impact on themselves is Master Bison in Street Fighter, who cast out his good side and it became Rose, who honestly has only really ever been a B-level threat to him. I seem to remember that the Demi-Fiend battle uses regular battle music...because to him, that's what you are, a regular battle. Next time...either geniuses or overlords given that that was a quote from The Brain
Story savy me didn't take the deal with Raphael because that is clearly what's intended if you want to get the best endings. Lore savy me knows that you can 1000% hand him the crown just to set the idiot up for the most absolutely brutal smackdown Avernus has ever seen. Forget Asmodeus or Daddy Dearest, *ZARIEL AND TIAMAT* aren't letting Raphael pull his nonse without getting damn close to death for his troubles if he can even beat them at all. He needs that crown to be as powerful as a god, and he's picking a fight with an entire multiverse of opponents who are that strong even stripped to their skinnies. I want the alternate ending where Raphael's getting smacked around by Zariel for his troubles and in his last moments sees the crew pointing and laughing at him while eating fresh popcorn because the protag set him up as a next level "just a prank bro!"
Here's one of my picks, specifically one that comes from Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, and is a companion that you can recruit later in the game. That being Arueshalae, a succubus who is trying to redeem herself (she starts off at the Chaotic Neutral alignment, and depending on your actions and interactions with her, she can either fail her redemption and revert to her old Chaotic Evil nature, or she can succeed at her redemption and become Chaotic Good). She also has a special interaction at the end of a specific mythic path story for your character if you romanced her (which you can only do if you redeem her, if you force her redemption to fail it becomes impossible to romance her), but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who intends to play the game.
Something to note about your analysis of terror as a strong emotion during your discussion of Diablo: A very real argument can be made that terror is the strongest emotion there is. Natural selection, and therefore, life itself is primarily governed by the fight or flight response; and fear - terror - _is_ the fight or flight response. And it's something shared in some form or another by nearly every creature under the kingdom animalia.
Gaunter O'Dimm: Am i a joke to you... no... you must have just forgotten about me... don't worry. You'll have need of me... you just don't know it yet...
Considering his influence in the countdown community, and arguably his dubious nature and what he manages to trick Wander into doing, I'm pretty surprised that Dormin didn't even make the list.
Because she didn't turn up (though absolutely no issues with that, all the entrants are amazing), I'd like to talk about my favourite demon from a video game, Samantha "Sam Hill" from After Party. Or to use her older name, Salathiel Machidiel. ... I think I'll stick with Sam. Sam is a psychopomp, which in After Party are essentially the cab drivers in He ll. She's fairly cool and friendly, helping out our two player characters (Lola and Milo) on their quest to out drink Satan. She informs them about the world, takes them where they need to go, and even looks out for whoever you aren't playing as when they split up for a while. If that's gotten you interested in playing the game, then I suggest you stop reading here, because I'm about to spoil some late game stuff, but it's important to why I like her so much. Near the end of the game, Sam asks our protagonists to follow her for a meeting she needs to get to. A meeting with them, outside a church she built in He ll to try and help anyone willing to reform. Sam explains that during Satan's rebellion in Heaven, she abstained from taking a side, because she couldn't bear to fight any of her family, be they on God's side or Satan's. This inaction was why she was sent to He ll as punishment. During the game's climax, you can recruit Sam to help with the drinking contest, which is interrupted by an intervention for Satan! Sam agrees with the sentiment, and will abstain from drinking in the contest to set a good example. If you don't beat Satan, Sam turns up in the ending cutscene to tell our protagonists she's found another way to get them out! Sam is awesome. She fell due to compassion, not hatred. She seeks to help anyone who needs it and is willing to reach out. Sam has the aura of a cool older sister, reminding me of my own. That's why she's my favourite, but also why she doesn't necessarily fit this list. Though she would get along with a certain speed demon.
Here's my thought on Pyramid Head showing up in other games when he was James' personal demon: he's a warning. He's a warning to every other protagonist who's caught up in these personal hells. He's a ghost of someone who's grief, disgust, and fear was just so great it lingered. It's almost a hell itself that something like that is allowed to continue to exist, dying again and again while bringing gruesome death to others. Pyramid Head is a grim version of when a creation outlives their creator.

So nothing from Demon Souls or Dark Souls?
@@omerozel4716 I don’t really know much about those games
Actually yeah, kinda surprised that only one of them ended up here.
Ah, you mentioned me in a video! Well done, Mortal.
Nice to see Oscar is experimenting with short form content. I jest of course. Nice to see you doing good man.
OH DRATS! I COMPLETELY FORGOT THIS WAS AT 6 TONIGHT!
I promise to be here on time for the live video for the rest of October.
I think Odio (Live A Live) deserves an honorable mention.
The lack of Morrigan is... absurd...
25:30 I'm immune to this... I never talk to steam friends
I don't even have any.
You know it is gonna be a good day when Oscar uploads another countdown
I guess you could say you bought us your FINEST DEMONS!!
Mega Man X4 jumpscare got me good. Well done, Oscar
“Are you pondering what I’m pondering?”
I think so, Green. But if Jimmy cracked corn and no one cares, why does he keep doing it?
Considering his influence in the countdown community, and arguably his dubious nature and what he manages to trick Wander into doing, I'm pretty surprised that Dormin didn't even make the list.
another banger as usual
If good omens taught me anything it’s that humans greatest triumphs and tragedies have nothing to do with angles and demons. It’s all us.
Monster Month was *2016?!*
Man, i feel old... But I'm glad we're getting a sequel for it
Because she didn't turn up (though absolutely no issues with that, all the entrants are amazing), I'd like to talk about my favourite demon from a video game, Samantha "Sam Hill" from After Party.
*Sees theme of list.* Disgaea games would so fit in this list like 99% of the cast are Demons.
I really wish this had an accompanying list of songs used.
