    I’ve been struggling with my Pegaso as well. So I followed Your steps diagnosing the problem. It took me about 4 hours in total and voila, I have a working bike again😊 Thank You for posting 🙏

    Peggy!!!! 8-) It's good to see the ole girl out on the streets again. You know I've had problems with the wife's bike so much. I still feel like motorcycle carbs are 25% engineering, 25% luck and 50% witchcraft.....
    Still have some tuning/cleaning to do on that thing, but I think the new carb base boot fixed the phantom vacuum leak I think I had that was leaning it out. I'm hoping I'll get some free time soon and jump back on that little pain in my side and get it running nice. I can't tell you how bad I want to see my wife back out on her bike again.

    I love riding when there's snow out. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be home for any of it this year. Glad to see its back on the road.

    cause and effect, your airfilterbox was leaking so dust could come into the carbs.

    Stoked it's going. Funny, when Everide did his review I seriously thought about getting one but when it went off the radar I figured, maybe it's not so good after all. Ended up buying a Suzuki freewind which I don't think made it to the states. That's a good bike but I always loved that Italian styling on the Pegaso. Maybe one day... anyway, love your work Mr Duhfactor :)

    • @MrDuhfactor

      Thanks brother!! I actually love the italian styling, and this bike is very good... Im actually thinking about keeping it and riding it in bad weather, and just for fun..... I think EveRide is forging into more dirt bike trail riding, where this bike is more of a light adventure style bike... beats the snot out of a KLR, but its no KTM990 either.....It's kind of odd, so I like it...lol

    Hi there!
    Same peggy, same year, SAME PROBLEM!
    Also water pump shaft and seals were bad, so water got mixed with the oil, I did replace them yesterday.
    Now working on carbs, and I’ve found same problem you did, plus, acceleration pump was leaking gasoline as well, so I decided to take it off and leave carbs with no pump at all (saw some videos from those mikuni and they didn’t have that pulse pump)
    Carbs already cleaned.
    Going to change spark plug and see what it does.
    THANK YOU for sharing this info!
    Peggys are not common at all here in USA!
    Lucas.

    • @MrDuhfactor
      @MrDuhfactor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The final result with our Peggy was plugged pikot jets (make sure the hole in the small end of the jets are clear) and the air leak jets in the front intake parts of the carb need to spray through clean too. Good luck!!

      Hi man
      Ok, carbs on already.
      Bike has improved a lot, but, it turns off while idling at almost 2000 RPM ! Going to check valve clearance now.
      Do you know what’s the clearance rating on both, exhaust and intake?
      Thanks!!

      @@lucasfernandez1751 Hi Lucas, there are two sources of the info :) The Rotax manual says 0,1 - 0,19 mm for both - intake and exhaust. Except for the adjustable intake one, which should be 0,07-0,1 mm. In the bike manual, you will find 0,1 for intake, 0,15 - for exhaust. The truth is somewhere in the middle, however, I adjust the play following the Rotax manual, as I believe, it is more precise, as Rotax is the engine manufacturer )

    Does she still run well? Spring is around the corner and I'm looking to buy a Pegaso soon but with injectors instead of carbs. Same model, just EFI. It will be my second bike after selling my current one and it will be a commuter and light tourer or adventure bike. Do you think the Pegaso will do? It's quirky but I like that, I see it as kind of an underdog. Any other things I should be keeping in mind when browsing? I enjoyed watching every Pegaso video you did.

    • @MrDuhfactor
      @MrDuhfactor  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Tim! This bike still runs great.... it is a hardy bike with great components from the factory, a great commuter in my opinion..... if I didnt have my KTM 990. Id be totally content with the pegaso.... like you, I enjoy something a little more unique.....

      @@vageliskoios1062 I haven't bought one yet but I did go for a test ride on a 2004 Pegaso which was sadly sold to another the day after. The ride was very very smooth and the bike felt really light and nimble. I have an 850 twin tourer but on this Pegaso I felt much more sentation of speed and fun even though I was well within the speed limit. It's just a really enjoyable bike but I can't tell you anything about reliability.
