Aprilia Pegaso 650 test ride: is it suitable for beginners?

- This is the test ride of the Aprilia Pegaso Cube 650. This an old school enduro motorcycle from 1998. Today we call such bikes adventure bikes. It has a single cylinder 650 cc 5 valves engine. It is liquid cooled and it has some really exceptional components like Marzocchi forks and a dual exhaust system. It has a great styling. I did a walkaround and explained some details then I went for a ride. I also covered the PROS and CONS and answered the question about the suitability of this bike for beginners. Even though this is a retro motorbike, the appearance is extraordinary, this vintage motorbike was very famous in its time

I have bought one from 2003, from first owner. The bike had 13 thousand some hundred km-s on it. The owner couldnt ride the past 10 years, bike was in the garage in that time. He took care but didnt rode it. After buying, I changed all liquids, chain, sproket, some bearings... this year I made 9000+ km-s so far. Was really a pleasure, after I understood the charakter of the Pegaso. I'm a Honda and Suzuki guy, but I learnd to love the Pegaso. I really think it is or it was a complete missunderstood bike. Even if I buy a new bike, this one I will keep. Just love it

I agree with most of the things you said. I have a similar one, but it is the injected 2004 Tuscany Tibet version. My fuel economy is around 4,5 L/100 Km, but I do not care about it. I drive the way I am supposed to, not with the fuel economy in mind.
The mirrors are great, indeed. But I do not have a problem with the design. For me, it is very important that I see everything behind me.
The braking takes a bit to get used to, indeed. I would like them a bit snappier, but they are fine. It's just that, if I hard brake, the motorcycle wiggles front and back, at stop. That is due to the softer suspension, with long travel. It is fun, but it might be a bit disconcerting for some.
The motorcycle is light, pretty economical, the spare parts are still available and it is easy to maintain. What else can I want?

Nice review! this is the bike I started riding with 5 years ago. It is working amazingly, it needed some maintenance but it was a pleasure to service. True the motor isn't the most powerful but on twisty roads I can keep up with 1000cc bikes. Love my Peggy, hope it lasts.

Ive just passed and started with a 2002 pegaso lovely ride! Started to pop a flame on decel does this happen to anyone elses?? Or would anyone know why it is doing
