Hey Misha, I have same CL9 year 2006 but Type S and ECU reflash done to it. Without ECU reflash that car is lazy as hell. Now around 205hp, 230nm, redline 8000rpm, vtec kicks at 4500rpm not at original 6000rpm, Bilstein suspension , ported intake, 18" wheel, upgraded brakes. Nice, I have an 09 civic SI that I supercharged in 14, still have it, even though it's in the garage most of the time now. Very reliable engines. The car is a lego to upgrade, depending how much money you want to spend. Easy to extract more hp from that K24A3 engine. But having hydraulic steering with great feedback, great shifter, double wishbone as a stock car...it was a comfy sedan built by maniac japanese engineers. The guys from the romanian group of Accord owners are crying because these machines are a dying breed... Misha, you have to find a modded one to drive. @@honda_maniac Hello! I think the reflash club software is beeter, lower vtec zone from 4k and higer rev limiter at 8k, the fuel consumption still very good.
Wow. Never thought I'd see one of these on here. I have one of these in manual as well and have owned it for over 10 years. It saw me through uni and I ended up keeping it. I daily a Camry Hybrid (lol) and weekend MK7 Gti. These CL9s in stock form aren't super quick, the gearing is way too long. The best mod setup people do for these to bring them to life are - Intake, headers, exhaust, tune, intake manifold, maybe throttle body from the TSX, K20 head if you have the money, DC5 box and LSD. Headers, tune and intake make the biggest difference. Would love to see Misha take a modified one for a lap

I've had an accord myself. What this car needs is an intake, full exhaust, and an ecu reflash. These three mods really liven up the car and make it more enjoyable.
I remember looking at this shape accord over 15 years ago as a second hand buy. Loved the look of them. I got lucky and was offered a company car but this and the then current Mazda 6 were definitely on the shortlist.
The issue is it doesn't have anywhere near that 190 out of VTEC, which only comes in way too late (6grand). Mine with headers and intake, pre-tune, was 170 HP before VTEC kicks in. 220 when it did... So given the fact that with its long gears you're most of the time outside of VTEC, its not going to go very fast.
Fun times. Over here it was an Acura TSX. Was a great handling car out of the box. Only wished they had sold a Type S version with a hotter version of the K24, didn't have that K20 top end scream.
@@volvo09 test drove on before getting my RSX-S. Loved it, but really wanted that top end scream. Still makes me giggle. RSX-S handles like shit out of the box though IMO.
I love how a K24 accord is slowish but when you put the same engine with a short transmission on a much lighter civic you get a same era WTCC performance like car 🤣 It's like, it's always Weight and Gear ratio that kill 99% of cars potential
It's not that. Short gear and weight give it the final crispy punch, but the real lack of performance is because it's SO downgrade from factory... Starting for the garbage stock map, restricted nd long intake, 60mm TB, a low-mid focused intake manifold that chocked in highs, 25°vtc, intake cam that chocked in highs too, catalytic, and a ridiculous 2" exhaust... Fixing all that you have 260hp that still have long gearing and a heavy flywheel but the car is a beast too
just got my second accord, first being diesel which i modiefied with ysr coilovers and stage 1 map. great fun but not ive got a k24 type s with custom exhaust including manifold and a reflash and honeslty its quicker than i thought it would be! had a stage 2 focus st 2.5t and honestly doesnt feel much slower, but its way more fun! love these cars, the accords just handle so beautifully in the corners, love the feeling of the back end slightly moving out just to let you know your on the edge of the grip :p
I had the Acura TSX (US version). I absolutely loved that car. Excellent 6 speed. One thing that I always wondered is why those in Europe don't swap in the US/Canadian gauges? They're significantly nicer.
I liked this car much more with the 2.2 CTDi 140Cv engine compared to the one I bought Renault Megane Sedan 1.9DCi 120Cv, but the economic difference exceeded my budget. I really enjoyed seeing the lap, thanks guys.
7:47 the moment Misha realized... he's got a pair of headlights in the rearview mirror 😅 shoulda asked the passenger to roll down window with a shovel and start rowing for extra acceleration 🤣
6:40 - Misha starts talking about the quality of the car at twenty years old and the NB's ears start to burn, so he slides in behind. 😂 Heard you like twenty year old performance cars, eh? A man of taste, I see!
I got a custom reflash on my 04 that has vtec kick in at 4200 Wide Open Throttle, it feels soo good and throttle response is a lot better as well with some tweaks to throttle dampening, fuel, ignition and transmission shift pressure (I have an auto revving to 7500)
I miss mine a lot....:(. Don't know why I sold it and converted to BMW/Check Engine light world :D. Also mine was very tastefully modded for the track I would say. It had shocks and springs, camber arms, thicker rear antiroll bar, better brakes(ATR twin pots with ferodo DS2500 etc.), short shifter, intake manifold and some other breathing mods. Also had very nice wheels OZ Supperlegera R17 8J.
Glad ive got a 2006 accord, cant wait to take mine out on track, mine is factory 4wd and the handling on it is crazy, it loves the corners and has zero body roll considering it sits twice as high as a fwd accord, its like it wants to be pushed to maximum on corners and it does it effortlessly, like i can take a corner thats 50kmh i can it at 120kmh or even a 25kmh corner i can take it at like 70kmh
You need to drive a modded one @misha. They are fantastic. K24 is really great, and the accord chassis also. Try to get a full bolt-on one, the flash makes a big difference. The standard car's vtec only engages around 6k.. the flash brings it down the 4-4.5k region
Its too bad you guys never got the J30-J37 V6 in Europe. Great engine, even more reliable and makes some power, best of all, super cheap as its a sohc vtec engine. You can swap em into the Acura TSX (Euro Accord) and get to 300whp with not much trouble without revving it to the moon and giving it some torque. Wont sound like a bunch of bees in the exhaust! Also the K24's for the refresh version of this car is stellar, great base with lots of room for mods. Really not hard to get it to 250whp and revs out to 8k Thanks for the vid sir great driving as always! Something about driving a slow car balls to the wall I find is more intriguing than the high hp cars
I got a wagon k24 with 300.000km and it still does 220km/h fairly easy. The k24 pulls strong but the long gearing is the sadest thing and only 1200rpm vtec but otherwise it's a damn good fun car to drive and with lot's of comfort. Very good daily driver car!
What that car needs, is stripped back seats, front racing, everything accessory wise stripped, sunroof covered and a honda rsx head built on to your motor and that's an accord touring car then!
Nice funny cars.my one with k20 head , oil pump made 260hp and going up To 8200 rpm 😅with lighten flywheel and ep3 gears you can make really good time on the lab I think 🤔 thanks for the video ❤
The issue with the K24A3 in its stock config is that ridiculously high VTEC engagement (6000rpm, 7200fuel cutoff) and long gear ratio's in this CL9 Accord. (CL7 Euro R has better ratios). So with every shift you go outside of VTEC range. An intake, exhaust and VTC gear, with a tune to lower VTEC and you absolutely transform the car. Mine picked up 40 horsepower in the 3000-5000rpm range from a couple hundred euro's of mods and a tune. Truely doing yourself a disservice keeping these stock... Also, VMAX means above 220kph the engine will start to throttle itself. You really, really have to get these tuned...

Had a CL7 and CM1 Wagon , these cars are just too good 🤌
Nice funny cars.my one with k20 head , oil pump made 260hp and going up To 8200 rpm 😅with lighten flywheel and ep3 gears you can make really good time on the lab I think 🤔 thanks for the video ❤
I love this Honda ACCORD saloon❤
Such an underrated chassis
soon only 500.000 away from 2mil. Thats Insane, we love the content!
Torque = 223 Nm (22.7 mkg) at 4.500 rpm (190 CV at 6.800rpm - Max = 7.400 rpm).
Nice, well sorted car. Perfectly driven 😊
Epic!
An airfreshner worked like a g-meter. Nice lifehack, bro.)
I had this car a few years ago. Brilliant car.
The intro best explains why slower cars are more fun
It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than driving a fast car slow.
@@nelsonbergman7706 Even more fun is driving a fast car fast
lmaoo the mx5 and k24 was to funny seeing each other side by side
Thr battle with the MX5 looked fun!
You really, really have to get these tuned...
my friends dad had an accord 7gen wagon but it was a diesel it was modded like crazy had around 300hp.
