It's incredible how obsessed Seagate is in preventing from people opening their product. As if they have something to hide.

Great video. Thanks so much. I needed a video to show me how to open up the exact drive.

the hub is interesting because i can add 2 more external hard disk to it with only 1 single usb port connecting to my pc
it looks very useful or so i thought until i bought it
this shit overheat like crazy! those plastic sides looks like vent but its fully closed
now i just want to grab the hard disk out and throw the enclosure into the bin!

After now watching 4 videos and all the videos, shows the prying dun by pulling the tope part up/ away from its walls. And not the walls away from the top part. To try and not brake the tabs, wile your prying. Simply slip in a small driver/pine vice or plastic wedge to keep the two part open.

I have one of those drives (the 10TB one), but it doesn’t work because I accidentally dropped it and I can’t get it working again.

I have the 10TB Version..i hate the way the driver always sleep. if i change the case, can i prevent to do this ?
The logic (to sleep) must be in the case?

If i already have data on the drive and i shuck it then put the drive into another enclosure is the data lost somehow or does the seagate enclosure circuit board not have any kind of proprietary data management layer?

hard drives are so cheap nowadays, I really wouldn’t be surprised if a 10 tb would sell for $15 in 10-20 years
