the hub is interesting because i can add 2 more external hard disk to it with only 1 single usb port connecting to my pc it looks very useful or so i thought until i bought it this shit overheat like crazy! those plastic sides looks like vent but its fully closed now i just want to grab the hard disk out and throw the enclosure into the bin!
After now watching 4 videos and all the videos, shows the prying dun by pulling the tope part up/ away from its walls. And not the walls away from the top part. To try and not brake the tabs, wile your prying. Simply slip in a small driver/pine vice or plastic wedge to keep the two part open.
Mine was plugged in and the lead was pulled sending unit across the room. I pluggedbit in and it worked then thebpower died. Is it dead or the powet supply broken!?
I have the 10TB Version..i hate the way the driver always sleep. if i change the case, can i prevent to do this ? The logic (to sleep) must be in the case?
It appears that I broke the usb port on my hard drive and imagine my surprise when I hear Thomas start speaking! I had no idea you had another channel!
hahah same! I randomly found this video via google search and TFW you hear a guy's voice and think it's SO SIMILAR to one of your favourite youtubers and it turns it's him :D
Hey guys I wanna get for the ps5 as an external hard drive but my question is it a must to unplug everytime Iam offline on the console so like I leave it on when I'm on or rest mode or just keep it plugged?
If i already have data on the drive and i shuck it then put the drive into another enclosure is the data lost somehow or does the seagate enclosure circuit board not have any kind of proprietary data management layer?
It's incredible how obsessed Seagate is in preventing from people opening their product. As if they have something to hide.
Great video. Thanks so much. I needed a video to show me how to open up the exact drive.

Wow, hello Thomas! Did not expect to hear your voice here.

I have one of those drives (the 10TB one), but it doesn’t work because I accidentally dropped it and I can’t get it working again.

Hey thomas, cool video! I know your main channel and I also love this type of content. Keep up the good work!
Only 5400 rpm?
I came here for this video and then I heard a very familiar voice!
Well, this explains why I can't figure out how to open my broken one without breaking it further...

Youll be fine. not proprietatry at all.
Very useful thank you.
great video. helped me shuck mine just now.
hard drives are so cheap nowadays, I really wouldn’t be surprised if a 10 tb would sell for $15 in 10-20 years
thats the dream
Chia mining is currently on the rise, 8TB and 10TB drives are all running out of stock , inflation incoming.....
@@ryanrocksize5 what country you in?
@@santosturmio8189 Malaysia, all high capacity drives are steadily running out of stock , like pretty much everything in the 4TB range and up
@@ryanrocksize5 interesting, here in Germany they're all in stock, only the 16,18 TB ones got a tiny bit more expensive maybe
That's a Barracuda Pro there Bro. That is CMR not SHR.
It's a basic Barracuda Compute
that is not pro - use google to check it
@@rodinnyfotograf your right. Its a simple Barracuda with 4x2TB platters
Bad video, not body fix
