  • TeslaTap. What do you do if you want to charge your Non Tesla EV at a hotel that has free Tesla destination chargers? The answer is the TeslaTap, and I'm going to show you how to use it with the Ioniq 5 or any other car that takes a J1772 Adapter.

    Thank you for this video. I'm poised to buy the Ioniq5 here in Spain in just a few weeks. Had no idea you could do this with Tesla chargers. You rock, dude.

      In Europe, Tesla uses a different system, so this system would not work good for you. The good news is that in Europe, Tesla is beginning to open it's network to all CCS-2 cars like the Ioniq 5.

    One of my father's dream fulfilled by watching this channel. I don't really have to worry about theft in South Korea because there are cameras everywhere. Thank you for the information.

    When I use these chargers, I leave a post-it note as to the time I’m finished & cell number if they need to reach me.
    Thanks for the info of the 30 second’s before plugging into the car !

      We bought it directly from Tesla Tap. The link is in the description. I hope you get an Ioniq 5 soon. We will be adding more road trip videos soon. We have been driving too much and not editing video.

      I'm trying to fix it, but TH-cam keeps breaking up the link. It doesn't like the shopping cart code.

      I had to dumb it down to make it work. Thanks for the heads up.

    Do you leave the car plugged in all the time at home?

    • @evatrics5902
      @evatrics5902  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I tend to let it get down below 40% before I plug it back in and charge to 80% unless I'm going on a long trip the next morning and then I will charge to 100%.

    Not necessarily Tesla people leaving the cord on the ground, "lazy people" do though.

      @@seanturk7847 The sound is probably coming from the fans cooling the battery. If it's warm out, or in the garage, your active cooling will come on so the battery doesn't over heat while charging. You can see if it's happening if the vents are open on the front of the car. The vents can open and the fans come on even the car is not on, and you are not charging, if its super hot out and the battery has been working hard, before you turn the car off. As far as starting the charging, the car has to be off. If you need to run the AC after you start charging, keep your foot off of the brake peddle and double push the start button. That will allow you to run everything in the car while charging. After you're done charging and unplug, you'll need to turn the car off with the start button and start the car as normal to drive.
