Hi Leroy, I did install a centrifuge, (DieselCraft) on my 2015 duramax. It was quite simple, fabricating the bracket we went overkill. After looking at my initial install, I now have a much simpler bracket, very easy to fabricate. I'm at 1000 miles and have yet to pull the centrifuge cap to inspect. I can say at 1,000 miles my oil is still clean, not the typical carbon black we see with traditional filtration.
Now this invention will save the environment from all the thrown out spin filters. Excellent video. You never need to buy a filter again, just cleaning the centrifuge is all you need.😊
I pulled the motor on a 1966 FIAT 1500 mk111 (look it up!) which ran oil through a simple centrifugal filter, attached to the end of the crank, at 140000 miles 35 years ago. Cylinder wear was less than .002 from nominal, measured by internal mike.
Thanks for this. I have a centrifuge on my Ford 5.4L V8 3V and it works a treat. Prolongs the quality of the oil, removes debris, economy is still about the same, but I do not drive hard.
I would have liked to see the dipstick, to get an idea of how clear(or not clear) the oil in the crank case is. You would much rather see that sludge in the centrifugal separator, than caked up around your valve springs!! It would be interesting, if you cut apart the spin-on filter, and examined the filter media. Most importantly, put some of the sludge you scraped out of the centrifuge on a slide, and examine it under a microscope. That way, you could possibly see any particulate matter from the engine break-in, or wear. As much as it's a type of filter, it could be a valuable diagnostic tool.
Harvard oil housing and filters they're used on 18-wheelers locomotives engines a long time ago they used to put them on Peterbilts Kenworth but they were called Lube Finders Harvard is the best I forget how many microns that it filters Castrol synthetic 15w 40 the best my 1999 Kenworth W900 500 E model cat 1300000 never been overhauled
Hi Leroy Diesel, I'm looking for a unit for my 2015 Duramax but have yet to find one, Diesel Craft or maybe Spinner II 25. I guess fitting it under the hood and finding a place for the return is the problem. I sure hope I can get this done. Any advise?
whats the brand name of this unit? i had a centrifuge on my truck, a dieselcraft and it wasn't worth a crap and its in the garage not being used. thanks!!!
I wonder what an oil analysis would find in than scum? is it possible it's the oil additive package? And brake cleaner works way better than carb cleaner. Doesn't make sense, but I've used them all! What oil are you using? What brand filter? Do you fill the filter 1st?
LeroyDiesel there's an incredibly comprehensive oil analysis of every type of oil imaginable on the internet. Search are RAT540. The fellow Rambles on forever, but he also debunks a huge amount of myths about engine oils.
i dont think ill b doin away with my physical membrane filter anytime soon lol this doesnt seem like it would b a horrible idea, id even use it if it doesnt use much energy, but wheres it get the energy to spin??? i really really hope not the oil pressure because like any other system, u take energy from one spot n everything else has less to work with, like bearings...
maybe I missed it in a earlier video, what brand oil and wieght are you using. I've owned semi's for over 30 yrs and have never seen oil do that. Its like a tar base stuck on the outer wall of the centrifuge. thanks Greg
Leroy, I have a centrifugal oil filter and this really helped me to understand it! Thank you for this video. Are centrifugal oil filters better or worse than conventional filters? Is there anyway to convert it to a filter?
LeroyDiesel the AMSOIL EaBP90 costs under $30.00, lasts 2 years or 60,000 miles and the bigger bypass filter elements cost a little more and last longer.
Steven Brick that centrifuge will do better than any filter I'm aware of on the market. even if that Donaldson Blue 15 micron was an absolute filter rating and not a nominal one, like I suspect. I bet the centrifuge would win. look up sunwizard on the wvo forums after 6 passes with the same design centrifuge he got a 98% reduction in particles under 14 microns and 94% reduction in particles under 10 microns. www.burnveg.com/centrifuge-2.htm now to be fair that is waste vegetable oil but results should be similar to waste motor oil. Maybe Leroy should have some lab analyses testing done on his and maybe he can get some of his customers to send in oil analysis with regular filters to compare similar mileage engines? what do you say Leroy?
LeroyDiesel.... I agree, when I had my 6.5 I had to change out the oil every 3000 miles, it was as black as coal! Dirty engines! Love the sound of the 6.5 thou
To clean that efficiently soak it in diesels or kero. Oil requires lighter oil to clean / dissolve hence a decrease is a lighter oil with a fancy price.
Hey I have an 82 silvardo 2wd with a 6.2 and no turbo. Ya it sucks but until I had a guy turn it up it would get mid 20's on the road but have to downshift to go over a speed bump. now it will go over it but cost me 10mpg .... not good. I have been looking to get a ebay turbo and make my manifold because every body wants an arm, leg and your balls for one ! I would just like to see clean oil once would make me happy with power and to hear that turbo spool ! Of course I know that by getting an ebay turbo I need to take the entire thing apart and check it first. If you have any advice I would love it ! If you know where a rh manifold that would be great too. Well keep on going with your 6.5 and your new turbo ! Cody
@@leroydiesel5647 HI again. If that spinner rids 10 times smaller than paper then why waste dosch on having a paper filter that does nothing?. Cheers Carl
videoclipits consider engine flush from AMSOIL, bypass filtration and a premium diesel oil from AMSOIL. AMSOIL leaves 4 times less turbo deposits than Mobile 1 in industry standard testing. Amsoil cetane boost also improves combustion efficiency as well as their diesel injector cleaner. I can send you a picture of the oil on the dipstick in my DT466E, no problem.
ggg's fan AMSOIL has two oils for your 1996 6.5 turbo diesel both are 15W-40. One is Signature Series and the other oil is just Heavy Duty Synthetic. Will the centrifugal bypass filter work with a 1.6 liter diesel engine?

With camper and gear in the bed I got 17.3 mpg Will go up slightly after brake in.
I have an 86 Ford 6.9 l diesel and would like to install one of these on it is there a video or can you send me information on how to do so? Thank you
can a external oil filter cleaning system be installed??

Paper liner makes it easier to peel out. Make your own, or buy the kit.
How has the oil been in the truck and the centrifuge been working out for you?
Is this in place of the CDR 'tuna can'? I've seen that exact same sludge beneath my valve covers. Mind you mine had 200 thousand miles haha.

Hello, could you please send me a video how to install one. Thanks for advance.
I want to ask you, can you use that along with say Amsoil bypass filter
How many micron do they filter down to?
1/10th of a micron.

From what I've read this supplements your regular oil filter which is also needed and desired.
What oil and filters were you running to have oil that dirty?
LeroyDiesel that explains it. I run Donaldson Blue 15 micron filter and Amsoil 3000 Series which stays clean.

Hi from OAMARU N.Z. so you can do away with the paper filter with this and how is your engine lasting? .

G'day Leroy, how much oil pressure does the 6.5 normally run at? I'm thinking about fitting one to my Pajero.
may I ask what mpg do you get out of p400?
I said it has 500 miles on the centrifuge should have been 5000 miles. Oil was changed a 500 miles.
Looks like a mini Mack Centrimax filter, we replace those every oil change, never clean them just replace
it’s spinning the paraffin out it’s separating the additives from the oil
Pull the dipstick and lets see the soot free oil that it claims,
About an hour after I change my oil its black on the dipstick all ready.

AMSOIL Steven Brick thanks bro👍
Scania :)
Fun concept. But you'll propably end up taking out all the oil additvies too.
That’s nothing. You could probably go 10-12k next time before cleaning it.

Bla Bla Bla, why don't you show a sample of the engine oil in a clear glass container after driving it for 5000 miles?
