Hi Alek, thanks for the video. I still don't understand how the water seperates and let's say if I want to centrifuge crude oil that is 3 liter but 1 liter of it is water, do I need to build a hole that will only extract water?
It's just an accelerated gravity seperation.. the g forces make the water heavier & seperate out faster than if you just left it to stand.. the lighter oil flows over the rim lip f the spinning drum while the water & particals stay in it
@@santeryi9 Yes I confirm. I have tested it in a modern Common Rail diesel engine with electronic piezoelectric high pressure injectors and it works great. But the electric heating of the distiller require expensive electric energy and also reagents for tratement have to be bought.
NO- it is not good for fuel in modern engines. Think sandblasting but with oil. The particles, even less than 5 microns, can and will erode the nozzles injected checks and other parts in the high pressure pump. Not in a week, but will reduce the life of the unit. Cat limited bed oil content to 5% of fuel used due to the effect on engine and fuel system life. Just sell your cars/trucks with half the mileage to avoid the issues. Send off the "clean" oil sample to Cat-Deere-Blackstone and see what the analysis shows is in that oil. If it was in a diesel then there is soot. Exception: Properly cleaned and re-refined - -yes. good.
Milk separator is for separating a way from cream, so if you want to separate water frm diesel or oil then you can try it, if you want to remove tar and solids from oil then you need a dedicated centrifuge.
This is probably a really dumb question, but I come from the school of thought that “the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask.” Anywho… Could a centrifuge be used to purify water? What I’m referring to is really bad well water with lots of silt, iron, and dissolved solids. I’m thinking if there was a way that the water can separate from all the solids and not stay hung up in the bowl? And if that’s possible, then you should be able to use a centrifuge to actually recycle your water? 🤷🏻🤔
Hi there! Centrifugation is an effective way to clean water by separating heavier particles and forcing them to stick to the walls of the bowl. However, it's important to monitor the amount of contamination in the water so that you can determine how often the bowl needs to be cleaned. If you don't clean the bowl frequently enough, the dirt will accumulate and the centrifuge won't be able to separate anything anymore.
I am currently collecting it. The oil in the separate waste container will be settled later and processed through distillation, and the sludge from the centrifuge surfaces will be burned.
Hi Alek, I see many chinese destilation oil to diesel ho sell on internet. Do you think this are good to buy? And how is the performance to diesel 70-80%?> Thanks
Diesel engines will burn any oil fuels.. the issue of "quality" ISN'T in it's burn ability.. it's in the effect contaminants have on the injectors.. tiny water droplets in the fuel turns to superheated steam & micro explodes at the needles surface when the injector is opened with the sudden & dramatic pressure drop at injection.. & pits the needles & valve seats effectively destroying the injectors.. pumps can have problems too.. all degrades combustion efficiencies & potential engine runaway
